Good to see you and hear that your wife has finished her treatments. I know you feel Blessed that she is doing well. I like your idea of community. I think that is so important. I feel we are all better off when we can rely on one another to trade out or just help out when a projects is large and you need more hands. I hope you and your wife have a continued friendship with the couple that helped you do the chickens. It is great to have friends close by. Y'all have a Blessed day.

Nice update. So happy things are working out health-wise. Congratulations on the deer. I was just out tonight archery hunting and hung out with a fawn for 20 minutes. I spend archery looking for a buck. Plenty of time in rifle to process a doe if desired. Just my wife and I are on a 100+ acre farm in PA and 1 deer a year is plenty for the 2 of us.

Thank you!! Oh man, when I was a kid, I used to hunt a nice piece of land in Tannersville PA with my dad and my uncle. I actually wanted to buy that property before moving here but the new owner wouldn’t sell

I am really happy for your wife, it all sounds positive. Your right about the community thing, none of us can live on our own. We all need help in some shape or form. I was brought up in a village in the UK, everyone knew each other and we all had different trades that we could turn our hands to. If you latch onto a community like that then everything is done at "mates rates" if you know what I mean and everyone benefits from each other. As always thanks for posting

Thanks for watching and for the kind words. I agree so much. As new as I am to this community, Im blown away how fast complete strangers were willing to help us. Thats what its all about, and it really makes me want to pay it forward!

Keeping it Dutch took all three of his girls hunting and each one shot a buck. They were on top of the world. the youngest girl is right around 10 yrs old. Good to see your wife is doing better and getting those birds butchered is a blessing. I raise Coturnix Quail (in cages) and get eggs and meat. It only takes about 5 minutes to process one. less if you skin instead of pluck. For those that are interested look to "Myshire Farm" on TH-cam.

They certainly do have a lot of nice bucks out there in Oklahoma. Around here they have a saying “if it’s brown, it’s down”. I don’t personally practice that philosophy and try real hard to manage our herd but its pretty tough on small acreage.

Congrats on the Buck man! Its a good feeling to get your first. I've gotten does for many many years but 3 years ago I got my first rifle Buck 9pt (not counting button bucks) and the following year I got my first Bow Buck 9pt. If you ask your local taxidermist, they may do a free euro mount if you bring them a usable cape. Not a bad trade off if you don't want to full mount all the good bucks you get.

I had a euro done on my first ever deer. He was just a fork-horn but at the time it felt like a Kansas hunting TV show buck 😂. I made a video about it. This deer had a really symmetrical rack and was my first significant one so I opted for the full shoulder mount to remember him. Thanks for watching and for the comment!

You couldn't have said it better. Community is the key, we are so appreciative of the folks our processing has introduced us to. Hope to get going again in the new year.

Cooperation, working together, give and take.... its all part of what makes a community or any group of people for that matter, work the best it possibly can. Isolationism just doesn't work for any long term solution. Best of luck to you and your wife. I know I would be worried sh..less if it were my wife.
