  • A talented young lady, a talented Missouri Fox Trotter, lots of diligence and here the result. The Clay Pit Stable in Krugzell, Bavaria, hosted a EMFTHA High Point tournament for the 9th time.
    A highlight was the presentation in the Freestyle Horsemanship by Hannah Schleibaum with her 8-year-old Fox Trotter mare "Harvey's Wild Sandy".

      Watch a Stacy Westfall video if you want to see communication. No aids, just her and her horse.

    I never thought gaited horse could canter

    • @louisecassidy5991
      @louisecassidy5991 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course gaited horses can canter, and especially the Fox Trotter. Trouble is, owners are so covetous of the gait they don't often encourage the canter.

      In some breeds, like Paso finos, the canter is discouraged because it can undo much of the training that is done on the gaits and does not develop the muscles used in gaiting.

      horsehalters2 I'm in Australia and we don't have gaited breeds, but there are some naturals around. Some never canter, some are truly 5 gaited. The foxtrotters look great to me, totally useful, game going, natural, no excessive gear or restraints on them. I would say if they canter freely in the paddock, then all gaits should be encouraged, with the emphasis on the rack, paso, running walk, amble, whatever they choose to call it. There is nothing better to ride, I know that. I remember one Snowy River gaited pony sweet as you like, wouldn't do it unless you knew to collect him and lap him lightly on the ribs with the reins, he'd literally leap into his gait, land running, and have everything else cantering along to keep up.

      They are bridle less and saddle less and they don’t even speak the same language and she’s not using hands

    • @kaziapr3115

      Horse Habitat you can teach almost any horse to be ridden tackles. It's not very Impressive that she's not using her hands either. The horse is simply responding to where she's putting her weight on his/her body and the cues she's giving with the whips its simple pressure and release. And even though they don't speak the same language there are many different ways for them to communicate. The do have something that is very hard to achieve and that is a bond and the do have a very very strong bond and that is why they can do those things!

      Horse Luv okay sweetheart, how about you get on the back of an off the teach thoroughbred and teach them now to be ridden tackles. But not just tackles, no hands only 1 whip. This lady and her horse is impressive and I hate that people like you are in the equestrian community. Riding horses isn’t easy, teaching horses is even harder. Let this girl have this beautiful moment with her horse.

      Horse Luv you can't just get on a horse and do this. It takes hours of training I shouldn't even say that it takes a powerful bondage with trust and love. They understand each other and pay attention to the other one.
