    You likely already know this, but the adapter the company will send you if you garage is not compatible (took 4 business days) is a wireless remote itself, that connects directly to the brown and blue wire.

    Bravo and thank you for this solution! Instead of waiting for the company to send me an adapter, I used this work-around with an existing, paired remote.

    hello.... Amazon shows that RSG100 Smart WIFI garage door opener does not required a hub, you stating that it does required one. I cannot debate whether agree or disagree, since i haven't installed it. my door takes 10 to 14 weeks to arrived. I have already pass the return point with Amazon. OVER all it is a nice review. Thanks Tom

      Hi Ray, thank you. Based on my limited research, a great deal depends on ones Wi-Fi router/AP. The reason I need a hub is because of my router and that I am using Apple Homekit. I do not believe one will need a hub with Google assistant, nor Alexa.

    So I got everything setup and am able to use the app to trigger the door to open and close after my soldering job but when using Siri when my phone is locked, I am getting a prompt to unlock phone to use the shortcut I setup to make this work. Any idea on how to fix this?

    I didn't open up my remote yet to see how easy it is to tell which terminals to solder to. I have an incompatible liftmaster w/ a yellow train button and not sure if I want to wait on refoss to send adapter. How did you determine the terminals? Was it visible or use continuity when button is pressed?

      In my case, I located the programmed button on the circuit, then took a flat screwdriver and shorted two of the four button contacts. Shorting the contacts bypassed the button and that's the point of the test. When shorted, I could see the remote led blinking, meaning, I found the needed contacts.

    Is there any feature in the app which will notify you when the garage door is opened for a certain amount of time? For example, if the garage door is left open for more than 5 minutes, I'll get an alert.

    Hi Tom, thanks for the review. Did you get the RSG100HK model or just the RSG100? You clearly hooked into apple homekit, but on your box it only showed RSG100.

      @TomsTechVerdict  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Eric. Well spotted, I did not notice that. You are right, mine does work with Apple HomeKit and the box did state that it is the RSG100. Looking at the order details, it says RSG100HK.

      @@TomsTechVerdict Nice one. I'm sure it's just a way for them to reduce costs. The RSG100 is current $40 cad vs $60 cad for the homekit version, so I almost got caught. Thanks for double checking!

    If i put this in the house, does everyone that have the app get notified if a garage opens?

    • @TomsTechVerdict
      @TomsTechVerdict  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you use the original app, other users would need to be logged in as well. If you use Apple Homekit and have a family share setup, all other users will be notified automatically.

    Why can’t you attach those wires to the garage terminals on the machine itself .. instead of the remote .?

      If your garage opener motor is compatible, that is how this kit is intended to be connected. But if it is not compatible, as I mentioned at the start of the video, this is one way it can be done.

    I don't know what I did wrong. It's clicking but not opening. I can open it manually. On meross app mesg pops up "garage open action failed" and on eHome life it just clicks and nothing.

      Hmm, odd. Never experienced that glitch. Check your door sensor, make sure it is correctly aligned. Misalignment can cause false reports in HomeKit. If it is correctly aligned, try to remove the device from HomeKit, then reboot your phone and re-add.

    God dammit, mute the "Hey Siri" phrases. It's god damned annoying to have my Homepods react every time.
