For a long time, this airport has been a major issue for those of us trying to get in and out of NZ. It would be lovely to see them prioritise the traveller.
Cool. Thanks 🙏 I like to see what’s happening in the ole country. I was happy when @ AKL Airport, in an eatery. That the sparrows are still in accommodation there…..as they were when I was a kid.
If Downer have the contract don't expected it to be done on time or for the money they quoted. Also, expect it to be unusable as a runway with about 6 months.
Good video, nice old photographs of the old terminal. i remember it well because in the early 1970's my grandparents from Europe would visit and the place was more open, you could see the passenger arrivals area separated from the passengers only by a high number 8 wire fence. Also remember going to the coffee shop upstairs while they waited to board.
Prediction: This will be completed by 2050. I’ll check back in then to see if I was right. I’m sure the TH-cam algorithm will recommend this video to me once every 10 years or so, so I’ll be able to refer back to this as the decades progress.
Auckland airport is New Zealand's longest ongoing construction site. At least the 2nd airport and a new car park are being built and the new integrated terminal is suppose to start in 2022. With regards to the rest of the grand plans, that is up to the pesky virus on going mayhem and disruption to global air travel and boarder controls.
Just a little update as off current date and someone who works out at the airport: carpark construction has almost completed and ground level is now the transport hub and drop off/pick up area. Construction has also started for the connection from international into domestic airport so it will be big airport.
We had relatives that had a section there, they had to basically "hand it over" so the airport could be built. Of course, they would have been paid out, but they had no choice
A380: Knock knock. Res. below, Who's there? A380: You may not know me, but I'm your famous noisy bird that flies anywhere. Res. Ohh man, not again. Bomboclaat! A380: Just passing through for some coffee.
If you choose to live near our main International airport (which has been there longer than most who live there) well get over it, don't complain about the noise, and get a life! The City council needs to butt out...
Thanks man! I’m working on 2 other ones at the moment. Unfortunately university studies and working at Melbourne airport have meant that I’ve had very limited time this last year to work on them. I’m nearly done on one for Melbourne Tullamarine Airport!

Security and immigration is fine, but biosecurity they removed two large baggage belts to fit more queues in
ahahah, loved this, one of the best things I've seen on yt for a long time. really insightful and funny. Hope you got good uni marks for it!!!!

The Irish Blessing playing in the background was a lovely touch 😌
Flew direct to Auckland from a chicago in 2020 and I loved that airport. Also went through the domestic side coming back from Queenstown.

Your video was an excellent presentation of the Auckland Airport. I rather enjoyed it and it was very informative. Thank You

Apart from the mispronunciation of a few words😂, this was a very very cool and enjoyable video to watch. Informative and had humor too. Nice one man!🙌
The turboprop aircraft is actually called the ATR 72 - 600.

Oh man such history! Would love to go back to those times and see the action unfold.
@@xthompsongunx Sir I wonder what is the BGM at the beginning of the video.

You should change your last word from "eventually" to "potentially" bc im not even sure they remember they wanted a second runway

Can you do the Takanini motorway? Took so long to do 😂
That's right the Maori cut the tree down
Can you do one for Christchurch
Great video!
Excellent, this will probably boost NZ’s population drastically
Does the Auckland International Airport have de-icing
capability ??
It’s pretty warm in Auckland, even in winter.
Every airport does, but unnesecery in Auckland

Nice informative clip, gonna subscribe the channel..
I worked on the airport construction project as a contractor from 2016-2018.
The screw-ups. My God the screw-ups.
Awesome!
Well done.
could you do one for Christchurch??
In the works my friend!
@@xthompsongunx Yay!!!
Auckland, is nice, but I only go there once in a while, I'm down in Hamilton
Also, if you guys don’ know who that guy with the A380 is Tim Clark, president of Air Emirates
They should just make trains go everywhere instead of domestic flights.
Lol
Nice video and make me subcribe 😁
I was at the opening.

Aircraft noise is music to me
Why is this your only video? I was going to subscribe. If you had this editing and humour in other videos, you could really get your name out there.

They are. Auckland is 4th
Brisbane is a complete joke.
It's not pronounced Mang-A-Ray, it's pronounced Ma-Gar-Rear, spelled Mangere meaning lazing in English..just for the record..great video though
Thanks mate. I’ll definitely have to do more research on those kinds of things in the future. They’re important things to get right.

And newzealand fvrt. Person kann williamson
Auckland airport is ridiculous and outdated with such a small airport and separated terminals, international and domestic.
