  • Actors, raise your hand if you’ve felt this way about self tape auditions🙋‍♀️
Trust me, you're not alone! A lot of actors feel this way about their self tape auditions because they don't practice enough. You have to feel 100% confident with your self tape equipment so that it feels like you're on auto pilot when you get a self tape audition. Setting up your equipment should take you 5 minutes TOPS!
Remember, practicing with auditions sides from show fax is the best way to build your confidence in your performance and in the technical side of your self tapes. As a casting director I want to focus on your acting, not your messy background.
What your biggest challenge tech wise 🤯 when it comes to self tape auditions?

Hi! I have a question since I’m extremely new to self taping. For the role that I’m auditioning for, they provided me with a set of sides. It is a document which contains 2 scenes that are not consecutively following (there’s a gap in the timeframe). I was wondering if I should do both scenes or only pick one.

Hi! Congrats on being new! If they sent you two sets then they want you to do both. They are most likely not going to be consecutive because when we on the casting side do this it's because we want to see different emotions and viewpoints based on what's happening in the scene. Does that help? Here's one of my great free resource to help you with self taping so you can feel much more confident with the whole process :)melmackactingstudio.com/nail-your-self-tapes/ Let me know you're biggest takeaway!
