People don't realise he has got an old vehicle (10 year old) which he bought for ₹11 lacs. Today, the same vehicle is ₹30 lacs. Because of this high capital cost, the freight rates have gone up. He is able to take advantage of this capital appreciation and earn more relative to operators who have new vehicle. Also, freight demand has gone up simply because of ecommerce growth since covid times. In general, logistics growth has been very high (look at e-way bill growth and you will know interstate transport has gone up). That doesn't mean GDP has grown phenomenally because our growth is still in the 5-6% annually.
If you went and asked an average farmer, he will tell you the pain he is going through because his input costs have gone up with respect to final price which has not increased as much.
For every one of these kind of people doing well, we will have many more number of farmers and labourers (who account for 60% of working population) not doing well. Same is the case with taxi and delivery boys in cities. Next time, you should interview people who are slogging it out as delivery boys. You will understand the difficulty.
May be Lallantop should interview gem and Jewellery workers in Surat as to why they are so unhappy.

The fact that SMEs are growing is indicative of poor demand from most of our population. Only a thin sliver of top income group (which includes you and me) is doing very well.
