In Jason Goes To Hell Jason’s corpse is taken to Youngstown Ohio which is where the Pharmor Headquarters were. I know this because I happened to be working at a Pharmor in the video department when this movie came out on VHS. It is the sort of mundane pointless detail that only a teenager living a completely innocuous life in the Midwest would notice and remember 30 years later.
Better yet I remember shopping at the PharMor in my suburb of Chicago and the guy who worked the video counter we nicknamed “Stoneface” as he looked like the dour convenience store clerk from Beavis & Butthead 🤣
I’m pretty sure we rented this from that store and I’ll always remember thinking that boxer dude had a chance against Jason then being sadly disappointed like when Drago killed Creed in Rocky 4.

pharmor was awesome, they had by far the cheapest video game and movie rentals in the 90's.

All he needed to do was manipulate Jason the same way the radio thugs did. He simply didn't know what to say to get him to remove the mask, not that it would've mattered.
So was the moral of the story that Manhattan is so horrible that not even Jason could survive? Or did the writers just have the worst experience the last time they visited New York?
Well New York is bad if all you focus on is the pimps and C.H.U.D.S. so ....

@@dogma9609 No, but he was threatened by a stereotypical 80’s street gang and used his gimmick to frighten them the same way Jason did. Dundee used his tough Australian guy shtick pulling out his super big (and not at all symbolic of a penis) knife which was way bigger than the street kid’s switchblade. It’s essentially the same joke here with Jason. Kids ran away scared both times, sort of as a nonchalant way of making the character seem so tough that not even street gangs scared them - and this is back when the media was really getting folks worked up about the dangers of kids in gangs.

Jason wins I feel, hands down. simply because he's a sadistic killer and Mr Dundee is a loveable goofy fish-out-of-water type. he's dangerous, but not a killer.
There are a lot of unintentionally funny moments in this movie, but my favorite is the "gang" of addict/rapist/criminals who waste their own drugs by shooting them into whatshername (I can't even be bothered to learn who the Final Girl is.)

The only way I can explain away the inconsistencies of Kid-Jason throughout the movie is that in Jimmy's tale we're witnessing Suzy's interpretation of what Jason looks like. Jimmy isn't too reliable of a narrator by not establishing that Jason was a mongoloid, hence Suzy is visualizing a normal-looking child. In Rennie's case if you take into account the continuity of the series and time jumps in parts 5, 6, and 7, Rennie wasn't even born yet when Jason drowned much less during his first killing spree. Uncle Charles obviously told her the legend during their Swim lesson and what we get there is an over-active imagination of a child being traumatized by her Uncle. Now in her late teen years, her subconscious is trying to reconcile that childhood trauma with the extremely bad timing of Jason actually showing up to her Graduation Trip, being kidnapped, and forcibly injected with drugs while nearly being sexually assaulted. I can forgive her impressions of Kid-Jason being somewhat erratic.
Yeah, I'm giving this movie way too much credit. Still, I'd rather watch this film with all its flaws and find some enjoyment from it than subject myself to the horrid rancid DOG-SH*T known as Jason Goes to HELL!!!
8 is a bit of mess but yeah to me I like this much more than anything else in the series beyond this point, save Freddy vs. Jason
Clearly in the Friday the 13th universe, any bolt of lightning, underwater power cable, disposed AAA battery or static shock has the power to resurrect the dead... except for the third rail.

Actually, this movie kinda gives credence to Jason being a revenant of sorts. Those who invade his territory must be destroyed, but others are dealt with based on how they interact with him.
I actually know the answer to this! The third rail is the power that the train uses to move and yes it can very easily kill you very quickly.

I have a theory about the film’s plot. I think the entire plot is a story Rennie is writing. At the beginning of the film, Rennie was given a pen used by Steven King as a gift, and we’re told she’s trying to be a writer. Well, since the timeline for Rennie seeing Jason as a kid is way off and not possible (which explains why she sees Jason with hair when he had none), you could say that everything that happens when Rennie gets on the boat until the final shot of the film is all a story she’s writing.
It’s not unusual for writers to take an established character and put their own spin on it. Plus it explains the
- Timeline mistake.
- Jason teleporting.
- Why toxic waste filling the sewers.
- Julius surviving going overboard.
- Jason turning into a child after the waste covers him.
- Toby showing up at the end.
Renee's character loses the people close to her en route to finding her inner strength to stand up to her uncle and take control of her life. Its her perfect coming of age story.

It’s a stinker of a movie but it does have a few gems in it.
Mainly the face reveal to the street punks, the boxing match with Julius and throwing that cook into the wall.
Least the movie show that Jason Voorhees ain't that bad ( He did save the students in the lunchroom from being flame boil & Save Remy from being sexually assaulted by those 2 drug attachs )
