Could have a custom auto save setting. Or he used the keyboard shortcut to save. But then I guess that would make the window pop up for him to name it. Or may not have given a shit. I guess he figured he could use the back up or just watch the stream to repeat what he did.
i'm like 99% positive he does save, obs will sometimes hide the file explorer or finder window
he has it on autosave you can do it in the settings.
