I was actually working on a Non-Salah and Haaland draft that actually doesn't look that bad GK - Raya and 4.0 reserve - permakeeper and a sure way onto the Arsenal defense - the cheapest as well without fear of rotation Defenders - Trent, Gvardiol, Konsa,Mykolenko, Barco (4mill def) - basically Trent and Gvardiol are the most attacking defenders Mids - Palmer, Son, Bruno, Gibbs-White and Eze - 5 penalty takers, nailed for minutes and most of them are on multiple set pieces as well Forwards - Watkins, Isak, 4.5 benchfodder. Probably the template non-Haaland strikers. Pros - 6 penalty takers in attack, should all be good for minutes and almost all of the players plus Trent are on multiple set pieces. A way to have a Liverpool, City and Arsenal defender - potentially the best starting options without having to sacrifice one of them or team structure. Cons - No Salah and Haaland - but these players should collectively give good points as well. Basically - Salah and a 4.5 GK and let's say a 6.5 mid outside of Gibbs White or Raya,Bruno and Son. The second combo looks better and I am not seeing many drafts that can also put in Trent and Gvardiol in tham as well. And also, there isn't an easy route to Haaland, whilst there is a relatively easy one to Salah.
Obviously things could and will change, but this is how I see my team looking by GW6 or so, despite starting with both Salah and Haaland 😂 It allows time for the England boys to work their way up to more secured minutes whilst still giving you great captaincy options. But once everyone is back fit, I think a lot of us will end up with neither Mo or Haaland.
Great team, only thing I'd suggest is dropping gibbs white to a 5.5 (maybe mcginn or hutchinson) and then your 4.5m striker to a 5.5m joao pedro or wood :) this just means that your bench forward still plays if you need it for whatever reason
Havertz was in midfield last season. Points boosted a bit by clean sheets and an extra point per goal. People seem to forget this. Think he will be good, but I think for 0.5 more Isak, who is a proven reliable forward pick, is just better.
He also didn't play as no9 for at least the first third of the season. He scored most of his points as a striker so over a whole season in this position he probably scores even more consistent
Also arsenal have goal scorers across there whole front line so they spread goals more. Someone like haaland Watkins and solanke are out and out strikers who are focal points of there teams and will get bps more often I think but if your not going saka I think havertz is possibly the best second option for points at arsenal
I think one of the pros this season in regards to having a bench which you can easily rotate into the starting lineup is the fact that you’re able to save your transfers if some of your “first 11” have either got injured or aren’t in great form. It could mean you get through to game week 6 and you have 5 transfers to do a mini wildcard then. Obviously if you had an injury to a premium like salah then you’d use a transfer or 2 to sort that, but if you had say 2 4.5mil defenders on the bench or a 6mil forward/5.5mil midfielder whose on your bench every week then it’s easy to just leave your out of form/injured player on the bench. Also good way of managing the fixtures each gameweek.
I think Sangare is a great option for a 4.5m mid. He had an underwhelming season last year but hes looking like our best player in pre-season and will start for us. Use him if you need a 4.5m mid.
I think even though he has no attacking threat really, he is a better option than Winks because everyone is gonna be selling winks to get a 5th mid, whoever that may be, and Winks is gonna fall in price.
We don’t know about pens yet but he could be a nice enabler. I don’t think I’d quite class him as a gem, he just doesn’t have the open play goal threat
Current Team rating 94%, GW 92%. 65.9 predicted points. Have Henderson, Armstrong & Dunk on the bench - hoping to save on transfers for weeks 2 & 3. Have a cheap defence - BPS changes and Arsenal price rises mean defence is less worth than last year.
As of now ive got for Trent, Gvardiol, Mykolenko B Fernandes, Rogers, Salah, Nkunku Haaland, Isak, Armstrong Fabianski, Barco, Winks, Hardwood Bellis on the bench.
Lovely video as always, Ross! Love the concept of player ratings/overalls etc. Appreciate your information input brother! Looking forward to this next season and your videos ♥
The better players always start ok, but not particularly well, and are then able to adapt the quickest to the season's trends and surprises. Whoever starts riding the unexpected waves first and uses chips properly tends to do the best...
Love your rating system Ross! If you could only get 1 of the 3 categories absolutely spot on, which 1 would you go for? I naturally think Structure is the most important as it gives flexibility when things inevitably go wrong at the start of the season. What do you think?
Great post Ross. What do you think of my current draft C. Miguel Saliba, Andersen, Mykolenko Salah, Saka, Palmer, Eze, Foden Isak, Wood Subs: Turner, Harwood-Bellis, Faes, Stewart
Hi Ross great video 👍👍 Just a point about a strong bench… in previous seasons i would agree with you about not spending too much in this area… its just with us now being able to bank up to 5 transfers, is there now an argument for going with a stronger bench..?
@@FPLRaptor Yes £1.0m more on the bench is currently what im looking at because it could potentially help bank more weekly transfers if injuries crop up etc… i guess it really depends on what kind of manager you are but i feel like it could possibly suit a more conservative style of manager)
The same of draft 4 i don't agree you have to panic if salah haaland or both smash versus Ipswich. Its more about overall and having captains. I think isak this season Watkins Forden saka palmer are all must haves and can all be great captains. Even with all of them can have a very strong team overall
Got a similar draft to yours but I can't get past Gvardiol at 6m, think he's too much of a bargain to leave out and you don't have to destroy your team to fit him in. Also betting on Havertz over Watkins after how he performed for Arsenal once moving to striker as you said.
My plan is go porro from the start , then transfer between gw2 and gw3, and plan haaland in gw 7, and im gonna have 2 transfers if i have injuries or something like that.
for your last draft , palmer down to nkunku or eze for me which frees up 3.5/4 million then can upgrade 1 of the 4.5s upto Trent and another of Gvardiol which looks really solid
My team: GK Pickford, Turner. DF Gvardiol, Mykolenko, Saliba, Anderson, Harwood-Bellis. MF Gordon, Palmer, Saka, Eze, HUdson-Odoi. FW; Havertz, Watkins, Isak. Might change out Pickford for Henderson or Sanchez and change Anderson to a £4m df to get in Gibbs-White for Hudson-Odoi
Hi, @bemwedvosed here. My draft is number 4. I agree for structure but my thought process for picking BOTH Gakpo and Díaz was to compensate for Salah. To be honest, I am looking to fit in Salah but he's been so bad by the end of the last season and Haaland is just so expensive that he would ruin everyone's structure and not just mine. Let's see what preseason brings us!
@@bencarlson772 I am aware of that. If someone surfaces as a decent xMins pick, I would probably save myself £5.0m to spend elsewhere. I probably won't have triple Liverpool, it was just my draft at the moment of submiting it.
Gakpo and Diaz are too risky with rotation and noone knows how Slot will setup. Even when Salah doesn't play great, he still seems to score or assist and he's had a full summer off to prepare. Plus, he's shaved his hair off, clearly he means business!
I don't see #3 as stacked on the bench. The starting XI includes Armstrong at Soton who shouldn't be an FPL starter. SO move Kudus in to make a 3-5-2 and you've really only got 1 sub who you'd consider startable and that is Udogie. The other 2 are from promoted teams.
Hi, Can somebody view and give advise to my team? GK - Sanchez, Turner (probably if Forrest buys somebody i would need to change him) Defenders - Saliba, Trent, Konsa, Andersen, Harwood - Bellis Midfield - Saka, Foden, Eze, Nkunku, Winks Forwards - Haaland, Gakpo, Vardy? It would be interesting some opinions. Thanks!
I’m not going with salad as of now because he’s older and I’m not sure his minutes will be as reliable and also that the system slot will play might not suit him as much. I would like to go with Haaland but I think foden is just as good and Watkins + isak can easily cover a haaland + joao pedro while costing significantly less
What do you think about Team 8 but replacing Gordon and Saka for Havertz and Foden? 17.5 total for both combos. This gives you a way into City attack without Haaland and still have Arsenal’s second best offensive threat. Also avoids the Newcastle double up with Gordon and Isak.
Are you not worried that a lot of these players may need more of a rest after the euros. I currently have a salah, haaland, taa, isak draft. Whith the 2 premiums fully rested they could smash it early. With the ability to bank so many transfers it makes it a lot more viable to do a super early wc while building up 3 or 4 free transfers to use later as a mini wc.
Dont like deep squad. Only one super premium. 3-4-3. My team: 2x4.5 keep that rotate well. Def: Trent + 3x4.5 defenders that rotate. Mid: Salah, Foden, Saka, Eze, 4.5mid, Attack:Isak, Watkins, Joao Pedro. Lots of goodness everywhere, no real sacrifices, and can jump into anyone (bar Halland).
My logic against having a deep/expensive bench rotation options is that it is hard enough to predict the best scoring 11 players in the premier league. Now your making it even harder by trying to predict in which games they will haul.
Can anyone tell me their thoughts on Jackson? Is he starting? A good option? Good fixtures....good form at end of season...an improved chelsea side? Or is that nkunku's new position?

I basically have draft #8 but I sacrificed Palmer and went Hudson-Odoi instead in order to get a premium defense including Trent, Saliba and Gvardiol. Odegaard instead of Saka because he didn’t play euros, so he’s more likely to get 90’ I also have Joao Pedro for GW4-5 instead of Fraser so I have a good rotation on my bench
Everyone: who cares about squad depth, I only need 11 players Everyone after gw 2: whoops, Isak, Gordon, Trent, Haaland, Watkins and Konsa have ACL injuries and Saliba is rotation risk. Me: I remember last season
I don’t normally, but I’ve got to disagree with you on something Ross. “If Haaland or Salah smash it against Ipswich then you’re wildcarding”… why would you wildcard so early and change your whole team because of a past result against one of the worst in the league… you take it on the chin and move on

I basically have draft #8 but I sacrificed Palmer and went Hudson-Odoi instead in order to get a premium defense including Trent, Saliba and Gvardiol. Odegaard instead of Saka because he didn’t play euros, so he’s more likely to get 90’
I also have Joao Pedro for GW4-5 instead of Fraser so I have a good rotation on my bench
got a 97% team hopefully should be ok
Everyone: who cares about squad depth, I only need 11 players
Everyone after gw 2: whoops, Isak, Gordon, Trent, Haaland, Watkins and Konsa have ACL injuries and Saliba is rotation risk.
Me: I remember last season
Does anyone think Maatsen will start for Villa?
Palmer or Saka? Also why all the hype over Nkunku? 😂
1rst draft change Munoz to anderson
My team rating highest among them94% with no halland
am i mad for having alvarez in my team? feel like hes going under the radar a bit, as long as he doesnt leave city.
Savio can play a major role on the wing which allows foden to come centrally so his minutes won’t be as secure
everyone is sleeping on rashford
Can’t believe you didn’t rate my draft 😢
It was too good to include, sorry mate
I got a 87 rated team.
4 bald managers in the pic behind
Bald is beautiful
❤
I don’t normally, but I’ve got to disagree with you on something Ross. “If Haaland or Salah smash it against Ipswich then you’re wildcarding”… why would you wildcard so early and change your whole team because of a past result against one of the worst in the league… you take it on the chin and move on
Waaay too much faith being put in Rogers starting from content creators. I just don't see it.
😊🤘🖖💪👊🍻
CHECK MY FIRST DRAFT
Haaland + Salah can definitely be a strong option without much sacrifice
Pickford
Robertson Burn Tomiyasu
Salah Rodri Eze Gordon
Haaland Wood Isak
ngl that ain’t great mate , burn minutes risk , tomiyasu won’t play , Rodri just isn’t always the best fantasy pick someone like MGW better but it looks alright mate
