  • We chucked the old HGP R-30 turbo with something a little larger. Introducing the Pulsar G30-900, effectively a GTX3582R compressor wheel and housing attached to the smaller 55mm GTX30 series wheel, but we've got a 0.92 a/r internal gate housing to allow more free exhaust flow for power up top. It's much less peaky than the old turbo, allowing us to have traction more of the time, as well as carrying much more speed.

Heyyyy, is there anything unique to timing these 2.8 BDF engines? We've been struggling getting ours running right after replacing the head gasket.

I'm launching a comprehensive timing video within a day or so here. Stay tuned if you haven't or have solved it regardless.

What RPM does max boost come in?

Roughly 3500 rpm, despite the smaller 55mm turbine wheel, the exhaust A/R we're using is a .92 which is quite large. It's perfect for a FWD car, because now the tires aren't being blown off the car when boost hits, and it has a lot of power up top, but certainly has killed the response down low compared to our previous GT3076R which had a 0.63 or 0.72 exhaust housing. If we wanted the 3k rpm full boost shove, we could switch to the 0.72 housing that pulsar offers.
