Love your reviews. The lack of noise isolation is what's holding me back. Incidentally, that's the main reason I bought the Sedici Strada II. Completely different price points and yet the Sedici feels like a comparable helmet due to the materials of the liner.
Excellent. I pretty much agree with everything you've said. The Ghost Bandit is my favorite helmet, if i'm not doing long distance trips. I have a Shark Spartan Carbon that i use for longer trips because it's a lot quieter. The Ghost Bandit doesn't come in cheap, but it's a lot better quality than the Lane Splitter and the venting is better. I'm interested in seeing how it compares to the Ruroc Atlas, but the Atlas doesn't come with the second visor which is a feature i really like.
In England they come with pinlock and I got mine for 240 sterling pounds. I would give it a nine, I ride a harley so everything is noisy, highly recommended.
I know I'm late to this video but man, I love the tab being on the left side. I normally raise my visor between downshifts when coming to a stop. I hate all these newer helmets that have the latch tab in the middle - I have to reach in front of my face to lift my visor, just not a fan...
In Australia 🇦🇺 here.. My biggest problem is no one has them in my state and I want to try them on for size before spending my money.. tried to contact simpson to find a dealer close to me but no reply! Sick helmet, I have bell at the moment but not to keen on it and it's a bit to big.
agree ref sound, rode with mine today without the head set fit for music, even with ear plugs its noisy, visor removal / fitting is a bit of a pain, not what I would call quick release.
I just got the new sandbox they released in a medium. I’ve been a medium in every helmet I’ve ever owned. Havnt wore it yet on a ride weather sucks. But I’m sooooo 50/50 buying a large. It’s very tight on my cheek. Was your break in a drastic difference ? That’s my only tight place. I have the outlaw In a medium as well and it’s perfect.
Could you please help me with the sizing? What size should I get if my head circumference is 56.5 cm? ... According to the size chart, I should order a size M, but some Simpson reviews suggest ordering a size down.
BlacktopDevil I’ve rode with my ghost bandit for about 8k miles now. If you ride a lot of highway miles, I recommend looking into other helmets. This helmet is super noisy
I got this helmet 8 months ago and have put about 1,600 miles on it. I'm still a new rider, so no experience with other helmets. As he and others have said, its noisy. My bike is noisy anyway... Sportster 48 with V&H Short Shots exhaust. I'm going to try ear plugs and/or baffles for the exhaust because after a couple of hours, my ears are ringing and my head is pounding. Other than the noise, I love it, the styling, fit, and function are great. Just my 2 cents... good luck, stay safe.
Hey guys, I'm thinking about buying a new visor for my Simpson Venom helmet. But i'm not sure if i should buy a dark tint one or a silver mirror visor. Is the silver mirror visor as dark as the dark tint visor or is it lighter when I look through it?
Will you ever review the shoei rf-1200 or rf-sr? Every dyna bro I know that ditched Simpson & biltwell all said they would never go back after buying the rf-1200. Would be great to get a review from you.
I got the rf1200 and brother has the lane splitter. The fit and finish of a $500 vs $250 helmet is night and day. His biltwell has problems with the visor staying put and has less padding. My RF1200 is more plush.
Hey brother, just found your channel. Just bought this helmet at the open house today. Just moved to New Braunfels Texas and enjoy your videos. Hopefully can meet you someday and say thanks
Hey hey love your channel it’s very informative ....but like to ask you a question.....I just bought a white mod bandit and I love the decals on yours are they decals or painted on please let me know....thanks 👍
Just picked up the Mod Bandit Darksome in the UK for £199 with a pinlock visor included, the shop also did a deal on a mirror visor for £30, so £229 all in with the pinlock and mirror visor ; ) The Mod bandit moves the internal visor switch up and behind the visor hinge leaving plenty of room to mount comms. Includes extra front vents for better demisting and closeable top vents for all seasons riding. Upper exit vents are shielded from wet weather.
Jarrod Howell it’s s full carbon fiber helmet. So I’m not worried about a carbon finish. Coming from someone who has owned both I prefer my Ruroc. I wish I could close more vents in it. And the visor mechanism is not as good as the Simpson but I prefer my Ruroc.
My biggest surprise is that you gat a Harley over a hundred 😂 Also if you are doing 12 hours on a Harley the helmet/neck issue is non existent compared to what your spine is going through. Last if you want to CRUSH miles but can't stand the noise, get a Mercedes. I hear they are super quiet, cushy and some even wipe for you😂. The different visor arrangement is food for thought .
Is it less noisy then the biltwell lane splitter? And I ask cuz I have the lame splitter and I’m looking for it too be not as noisy.. but you make it sound similar?
I been looking at this Helmet to replace my RF1200, but still not sure if Simpson is for me. I have seen Arai Concept X, and Shoei Glamster which both declined they will be coming to the US.
I was using a Lane Splitter, but I want to upgrade to a Simpson, im in between the Outlaw bandit & the Ghost Bandit, Tx rider here also, what’s your opinion
@@MrKeneal0330 Well there are some I have tried and very much do not like. I saw his briefly and have not seen any like that in stores. Just curious if he had a link to where he found his. And how did he connect it on the D-ring side.
You couldnt COMPARE Biltwell Lane Splitter and the Simpson Outlaw Bandit? I know there are similar but fitment, size, etc information isnt very findable and i wanna see if they are just the same damn helmet or not lol... love the reviews too man cant wait for more content.
owned a lanesplitter and just sold it to buy one of these. the lanesplitter is comfortable BUT moves waaay too much air! No closeable vents in the chin. I had to tape them off. Helmet still moved too much air around the eyes, so i ended up putting a line of thin weatherstripping around the visor and that made it decent. So if you like lots of air flow, the lanesplitter is good...but doesnt compare to the Simpson's quality.
Been between a few full face helmets recently. And as someone who hasn’t worn a helmet in 11years, it’s a tough call. I like the drop down visor, but can’t decide if it is worth the extra over the Biltwell. Also considering the icon airflite, but that’s a whole different design.
From what I've heard from other users, the mod is MUCH more comfortable. Unfortunately with me having to run cameras and mic's on my helmet, the mod version doesnt work for me
That is a stupid visor setup. Its better to have the main visor clear and the inside drop down tinted. You remain more aerodynamic. Durka Durka DUUURRRRR
The tab is on the left so that you can adjust your visor while riding/using the throttle. Leaving your bike in gear with the clutch in all of the time just prematurely wears out your clutch pads.
This helmet was such a disappointment. I got the most expensive carbon version and two months later I am getting something else. To anyone considering it, be aware that if you are used to other premium brands (agv, shoei, arai, etc) you will be extremely disappointed. The helmet looks cool, and is quite light, but that is about it. The noise is unbearable, as are the aerodynamics. It is literally only for low speed riding. The worst part is definitely the inferior quality compared to others in this price range. The visor does not seal properly, scratches extremely easily, the internals started to fall apart after a few uses, and what shocked me the most is when I realized that the EPS liner is made from segments which at some points were literally held together with tape. Finally, just so you know, even the most expensive carbon versions are made in China, which Simpson does not mention anywhere on their website. For the same price I am now looking at the Shoei X 14 (X spirit 3), which is on a completely different level in every single aspect.
That settles it - I’m getting this helmet in matte black. Thanks, Justin!
Love your reviews. The lack of noise isolation is what's holding me back. Incidentally, that's the main reason I bought the Sedici Strada II. Completely different price points and yet the Sedici feels like a comparable helmet due to the materials of the liner.
Depends on what you like. I don’t like it when I feel totally blocked from my surroundings, so the „noisiness“ suits me well.
Great 'real world' review - thanks!
Also, simply lift your visor before you come to a stop with your clutch hand...easy peasy.
Excellent. I pretty much agree with everything you've said. The Ghost Bandit is my favorite helmet, if i'm not doing long distance trips. I have a Shark Spartan Carbon that i use for longer trips because it's a lot quieter. I love mine !! Just got it ! LOVE IT
I have the outlaw bandit, i love the style but it is uncomfortable, how is this one?
Are the helmet graphics stickers or are they vinyl wrap? And did you do a video on how to apply them?
I ride visor up most of the time. Does the ghost Bandit have a bad whistle when visor up? My Shoei RF-1000 didn’t but my Shoei RF-1100 is horrible
Yeah, mine whistles a little in the two top visor positions. If you pull it down farther it stops but the top two whistle.
I currently ride the Mod Bandit and really like it. Were in Florida and are the helmet breathes well. I think your review is right on the mark.
james allen how’s the view? Any distortion?

What did you do about it ?
Snell rating will never happen with a drop down visor
So if you added the thumb tabs on both sides of the visor would you get rid of the locking mechanism or how would you work that
Do you ever think that the smoke pin lock with a dark smoke visor is too much if it’s not blazing sun all
The time while riding during daytime?

Hello from Germany, how do you change the inner Visor?
Ruroc has a tab on both sides, not just a clutch side.

fits fine, even the internal sun visor does not snag on my glasses.

Why wouldn’t snell approve a Simpson? Drop down visor?
Simpson does have Snell approved helmets, just not this one. But my guess would be the drop down visor as well
Do you ride with your glasses and if so how does the helmet feel with them?
I was wondering the same exact thing
In Canada 2022 I paid just over $800
Funny, I have more of an oval head and the dealer i got mine from told me I shouldn’t get it because it was made for people with round heads, lol.
