  • This week for Weapons Wednesday, I show how easy it is to make a really nice looking metal escrima stick using parts and tools you can find at your local hardware store.
    At KarateMart.com, we hand-make many of our weapons in the United States including our metal escrima sticks. Here are some of our most popular metal escrima sticks:
    Steel Escrima Stick: www.karatemart.com/steel-escr...
    Black Steel Escrima Stick: www.karatemart.com/black-stee...
    Aluminum Alloy Escrima Set: www.karatemart.com/aluminum-a...
    Black Grip Aluminum Escrima: www.karatemart.com/black-grip...
    High Strength Aluminum Escrima Stick: www.karatemart.com/high-stren...
    Solid Aluminum Hexagon Escrima: www.karatemart.com/solid-alum...
    If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments below. Thanks so much for watching!

    Might be one of my favorite weapon Wednesday videos! Appreciate the thought and consideration in making this one Kyle! Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but I think it’s awesome that you’d be willing to take the time in showing us how to create our own escrima sticks (on a budget) opposed to just highlighting some of the ones you guys carry. Very cool!

      I really appreciate that Andrew! Yeah, I enjoyed making this video. I actually really like creating videos where I make things, but they don’t seem to be as popular. Thanks so much again for watching and for your continued support. I really appreciate that!

    I’m loving the Weapons Wednesday series, especially the “homemade” ones. I believe that stick would hold up pretty good under some strikes due to it being shortened. Great idea for scoring the handle area also. Most impressive! I’m thinking of making a throwing board out of pallets in the future. Got any suggestions?

      Thank you so much! Pallets are great for throwing boards. In the past, I’ve added layers of cardboard to the front of pallets which allows you to draw a nice target on it.

      @@Karatemart Oh no dear Sir, I have not. I can not live in some stranger place where I know I can't run on you! (I hope it's the right expression, and I didn't just tell you I'd run you over or something.. Haha, English is not my first language.) Many kisses from Athens, Greece

    I used to use plumbing pipes or steel rebar as makeshift escrima sticks, or for bo, or jo or even shorter segments as a yawara stick.

    I made a pair out of shopfront style stainlesss steel door handles. Same length but thicker and the perfect weight for me. Roughed up the stainless and wrapped in a grippy adhesive tape. Looks like electrical tape but nice for practice, love this channel. Subbed and liked 👍 cheers from Australia

      @@Karatemart I had to strip them down , countersink the holes. I rescued a 900 mm snap on breaker bar and welded the head so I can use it as a breaker bar but also wheel nuts. Your channel is an inspiration and motivation for me! Highly appreciated! I would love to see a video on how to disable a psycho dog? The neighbours 14 year old was screaming on Saturday: can you please help me? I went over and what a mess of the female dog being mauled by the male. I got bitten on the thumb. But I managed to land a nice front kick that he ended up in the bathtub. Unbelievable!!! Some parents shouldn't be parents! Thanks heaps for the quick reply ❤ 👍

    Love it, I feel a missed opportunity you didn't put some sand in it, since you had to glue the end caps. Weighted handle keniticlly charged strike end.

    • @Karatemart

      Absolutely Ben! By having the furniture caps as end pieces, you could load any weights you wanted into it.

    It looks really cool! your right about that!
    Hah!! You guyz must be eating alotta watermelon! You could save it and make some watermelon wine!
    All kidding aside...it’s a great idea. Making weapons that work from “scavenged” parts is very useful. Sometimes I feel the world is falling apart and these skills will be important if not vital for survival. In fact my focus now is designing martial arts weapons for what I call, “times of stress”.
    Great stuff man! It did really look nice!!!

    Why is there no weight in the end ?? Wouldn't that be better

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could definitely fill the inside with sand or add weight to one of the ends, but generally escrima sticks are equally balanced at the ends, and the weight is already about perfect. Thanks so much for watching!

      @@Karatemart Oh, thanks for that info.... Just curious, but what if you had a baton stun gun that you did not have to push the tip to shock, but also any side to side strike would deliver a shock ??? I would love that....

    • @Karatemart
      @Karatemart  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some stun batons out there that are like that. The nice thing about them is that if anyone tries to grab the stun baton along the sides, they get shocked.
