This is such a difficult aria, and Schade makes it sound easy. I think his interpretation is correct. Tenors have many choices for this aria. One is that the A B A format means that the tenor can sing the first "dalla sua pace" twice: heavier and from the chest the first time around, and more softly the second time around; however, Schade has chosen to sing both softly and sensitively, but growing heavier or "morte mi da". Perhaps the best recording I know of is from Domingo; who, although he lack in high notes, makes up for legato and nearly perfect line: th-cam.com/video/pvCdLmxApXc/w-d-xo.html. If a tenor is going to sing this song "chesty" then Domingo shows how it is done.
He's doing Mozart not Verdi's Otello. It would be strange to introduce a large dramatic chesty voice in Dalla Sua Pace. One must learn to be dynamic in roles, if you're doing Mozart, this is close to what you should sound like, if you're doing Verismo, the sounds needs to be different, if you're doing spinto or dramatic roles, then your voice must adjust, for those talented enough to shift between repertoires.
I'm yet to find a better rendition than this.... this is as good as humanly possible.
It is indeed great. Still, listen to Alva!
Try Michael Spyres. Not to reduce Schade’s performance, but just to expand human possibilities
Bravo, the best perfomance i ever heard
It would be hard ever to get tired of this interpretation; there is something very special about it
Agere completly
Perfect voice and perfect performance, full of colors and deep emotions
Beautiful....just beautiful....
Simple musical lines without the highest notes yet so demanding to sing.
Such a sensitive performance! Schade's dynamics demonstrate the emotion behind the libretto and the music. Very heartfelt and sincere. Bravo!
真假聲切換十分自然,輕梁的音色是這首曲子最美的地方❤
No tengo palabra alguna para describir la belleza en el canto de este artista!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best and most sincere rendition, I have heard, besides that of Tito Schipa.

I've been singing for 2 yrs and I don't quite have a range like him yet.
Great song though. I want to learn this song. There are a lot of opera song I want to learn, this song is one of them.
Why not starting with dropping the word 'song' and calling it an aria? ;)
SatanAteMySocks Well excuse me for calling them songs and not knowing that they were called arias. Why don't you go be a hater to someone else.
I have a vocal degree, I see no problem with them being songs. My teacher never beat me to death if I used them interchangeably.
Simps in 1786
You could very well say a modern day Don Giovanni is someone like Andrew Tate, father of incels
와.. 개오지넹
Very nasal small voice
genau das erfordert die Rolle
No tienes ni idea
I heard him in this role live, he’s the only one I could hear consistently. Clean harmonics travel better than sheer volume

Barely audible over the orchestra, strange, nasally vowels. Jerry Hadley and Tito Schipa are rolling in their graves
Yeah, he's terrible. That's why Vienna State hires him and Muti works with him. They don't know anything. Too bad you're not in charge.
This real Mozart! This is how every Mozart Tenor should sing this role!
Come on, tell us like Richard Kastle how everyone is a scam artist because you know better!
