I get paid 90 lousy bucks a day for the public school Corp. I work for and 112 bucks a day for the private school I work for. Poverty wages yo. This girl must live in a high cost of living metro area. lol
My district pays $100 a day 😂 but you only need HS education. The teachers always leave very detailed lesson plans. Basically you just keep the class under control and make sure they get their work done and help them.
In Michigan, it’s 60 credits (Essentially an Associate degree, which I have) and then a fairly lengthy application process (fingerprinting, 24-page packet, online training, college transcripts, and seminar). It also depends on the district for requirements, as well as fluctuating daily pay. In the county where I live, pay goes from $125/day to $150/day.
You can also sub if you have over 90 units. That’s what I’m currently doing! I also didn’t have to take the CBEST or CSET because I covered it with coursework with an A 🙂 This would be a 90 day perspective sub permit
I’m in GA and because I do have some college credits (no college education needed to be a sub in GA) I only make 100 a day. It’s actually not much more for college grads either, I think 150 a day for those that hold a degree
@ in Texas out school pays full time. I want to say about 40 and that’s basically watching study halls all day. As a teacher myself I make 68k plus stipends for cowboy so add another 8-10 if you coach at least 3 sports
Hi, I have question can you give any advice on class management with 5th graders and up for subs. When they see subs they have the impression they can do what they want. It hard for me to have them quite and not so loud talking. I would appreciate it if you had advice.
I have a question. I know it’s called the 30 day sub permit. So does that mean you’re only allowed to sub 30 days? I always get confused about this! I’m trying to apply to get a sub permit 😭😭😭
not the person in the video but i'm also a sub in cali. you're only allowed to sub 30 days for one school (consistently). so let's say a school wants you to sub a specific classroom for 60 school days straight. you can sub 30 days, take one day off (sub at another school) then come back for the next 29 days. you just can't do one specific school site for more than 30 days straight. but if you break it up by having multiple schools in rotation you can basically sub every school day (not including summer school)
@@jasminbautista5856yeah, it's how chunky monkey explain. Well, actually where I live it's no more than 30 days in one classroom total, per academic year. But I also thought in the past, "Am I going to have to renew my permit every 30 days?", until a coworker actually explained and elaborated.
She didn't answer but I am a substitute teacher too. I get phone calls everyday, but I can work as much or as little as I want. Let's say I only want to work one day this week, that's fine. Let's say I want to work the whole week, that's fine too.

Don't know if relevant but if you're a highschool graduate you can start substitute teaching now. Grades like middle and high school, you'd have to be out of school at least 2+ yrs, I'm subbing elementary rn
A bachelor's means very little these days! Unless you have connections and are privileged enough to have been able to do internships in college, your chances of getting hired in something relevant to your degree are slim
Teachers make TOO much. I ran into some teachers the other day who had never heard of Patrick Henry. When I start seeing young adults who can do simple math without a calculator or tell me who fought against who in WW2 then we'll talk about some raises.
Chizzle, teachers don’t even make minimum wage in a lot of these states! Where do you see them making “way too much”! The teachers of today probably don’t know things like WW2/Patrick Henry events because they were born in a different era just like you probably don’t know much about their timeline. Old can learn from the young and vice versa. Let’s stop fighting each other and learn to appreciate one another’s strengths. 😢 It’s true that a lot of the children lack basic math and reading, most can’t even write their names I see in a lot of schools but we teachers and parents aren’t working together anymore, the generations have broken down in the homes! Teachers deserve every bit of a raise they have to discipline, teach, fight, counsel, sometimes even feed n clothe these kids/grandkids of today, it’s shameful 😮❤🎉 God bless us all 💝🙏🏽❤️🩹💪🏽
Bro what, 210 a day? Bro for the rest of this week I have a lazy sub who lets us out early and, 4 times almost got my class caught by security or other teachers
Do you (substitute teacher) have to work 8 hours a day to get paid that a day-rate? What happens if you only work 5-7 hours because that's all a school needs you to fill in for the day?
In Australia you make a minimum of $439 to a maximum of $548 per day
Whatttt
I make 345 a day
So I’m getting the minimum of $50 each class
Whoa! Is the cost of living super high?
Here in Texas subs only need 60 credit hours with a bachelor's you can just be a teacher..
wow really
Do you have any mail id on which I can msg you...related to teaching certification and all
@@DoyinVoiceNo, you still need to get credentials. You can do a paid residency while you work towards your bachelors and credentials.
that’s crazy where I live the pay is around $100 for a full day

Depends on the district in Humble it's 125-135
How you leave 15 min before class starts? 😭
I was thinking the same thing 😂😂😂 I hope the school is next door to her house😮
That's why she's a substitute teacher
@@johnh8705😂 I’m a sub. I get there 25 mins early lmao
It’s probably a school she’s subbed at before and knows the routine
In NYC, Substitute Teaching Assistants get paid $172 per day
As a nyc sub teacher myself, the pay changes to $205 a day

106$ a day

May I ask which fields can a substitute teacher change please?
Huh
Can you be more specific with your question?
I am a graphic designer & want to be art teacher for children with special needs what is the process can someone guide
We need more subs. Many schools, like mine, pull the TA’s (which is me) from our regular classrooms to sub in other grades and classes. Annoying
Where do you get that pay? What state, or what county?
It's California, so comparatively she's probably making the same as everyone else when you factor in cost of living
They make good money but private schools typically don’t require a degree to sub and they always need subs
Thanks for this!
But how much do they pay for subs in private schools
@ in Texas out school pays full time. I want to say about 40 and that’s basically watching study halls all day. As a teacher myself I make 68k plus stipends for cowboy so add another 8-10 if you coach at least 3 sports
Our pay rate is $75 daily WITH a degree!
Right? 😡
How is that a livable wage?
We are paid less than slaves!
At least their masters had to provide housing.
July 04- 2024 Sunday
I hope , will start next week !

What do you do for work over the summer??
I just passed my CBEST. We get the 30 day permit after the interview, I'm guessing, through the school?
Do you have a subliminal for clients??

You do not need a bachelors degree in some states.
Do you ever feel guilty/strange for being a sub when you have a bachelor's and could be doing something else?
Yes, but then I apply to tons of jobs for over 6 months and nothing. So I guess I’m pigeon holed. But that’s ok. One job is enough.
