im looking in to getting my name changed too. i live in wisconsin for reference and i only had to print out three papers total. you will have to pay a fee and idk if this is universal but you may have to publish a notice for 3 weeks before seeing the judge. check out the local courthouse in your county and don't stress. the process doesn't scare me but the money kinda adds up

And if you told one person you were trans, it likely spread through gossip over that or someone reading your files, or someone found your TH-cam account. Either way its awkward and I understand the frustration. I had this issue, with people getting over-fascinated, and then discrimination like this prompted me to go stealth for the most part except when I've explained my surgery to a few coworkers wondering why I couldn't lift pretty much anything or tolerate cold air (even now at 5 months post op, healing is a roller coaster with 8 complications but was well worth it).
