Thanks for the video and thanks for the price breakdown at the end. When I needed cases, I did the same thing and built my own. The reality is the case isn’t expensive even using better quality plywood. A 4’ x 8’ sheet of 1/2” maple ply is currently $65 and you can probably make four 6U, 104HP cases from that. Where it starts to add up is what goes inside the case. The rails you selected, if ya splurge and use nut strips instead of sliding nuts, are $58 a pair so you’re $120 in rails alone. Power supplies are all over the place. Everyone talks about Meanwell’s and that’s what I put in my cases because they are indeed the best price. However, they kinda suck on the negative 12 volt power side and you’re wiring household mains voltage into your case so you really need to know what you’re doing with the wiring to avoid… well… electrocution or fires. For people with less electrical skill, the Befaco Trolly Bus is a beast, comes in around $250, and is plug and play. I’m all about DIY but have learned the hard way that inexpensive sometimes turns out to be more expensive than I thought it would be LOL!!! Happy making and all the best!

put washer behind if there is to much play also a great tip is gauging instead of mesuring like put case down flat and put samel length woodpices under the rails thsi way you know raisl will sit 100% distance from the back inside

Those frequency central PSU are nice for a small setup, but as my case grew, I ended up getting Meanwell RT65Bs.. they are switching power supplies instead of the linear frequency central psu. But they work well enough for me so far. Great vid. Keep up the good work!

Haha! I assume you're referring to the thing sticking its head out from behind the case... That's Harold, my tapeworm. He made appearances in some of my earlier videos but has since retired from the biz.
