I think a big part of why the fender looks so huge is that they left the rear seats off of all the press bikes. Even a rear rack would help scale it down :) Totally agree on the paint jobs. The cream ones don't appeal to me at all, but the black and green with classic liveries are awesome!

We all should be happy that RE makes such classic bikes. We can ride around with an old machine (people don’t believe they are new😂) with just one click of a button and equipped with gear for the modern world. Nothing is ever perfect but RE gets close to it. I own a GT and a SG. In the 37 years I am riding, these RE are my favorites of all time.😊

RE is also working on bullet 650 and as we know the only difference between classic and bullet is rear mudguard so once bullet 650 is out you will have one more option available. Already there sighting of bullet 650 mule with squarish rear fender
I don't have a problem with the rear mud guard but my initial reaction when I first layed eyes on it was that the rear wheel was too small and should be chunkier.
I don't think the fender looks that bad, With someone on it, it probably looks normal. What is harder on my eye is the way they had to lift the tank to fit the bulging engine under it. The 350 tank almost fits like a Lego on top of the engine. The new one looks a little more like an old Honda tank atop an inline 6 engine. Still, I can't stop looking at pics of the maroon one. Love that paint job.
A lot of the pictures of the Classic 650 the bike was on the side stand so at an angle. I think that made the mud guard look higher in the pictures. On the paint scheme the cream and maroon one the tank could be maroon at the bottom with the cream on top. That would be a more traditional look that people would prefer I think.
$12,000 Aus is a tad much for the quality so I'm thinking of rebuilding my 2020 classic 500 engine to the Hitchcocks 535cc and give it a coat of the teal paint. On my classic 500 Enfield I fitted a pair of the Continental all terrain higher profile tyres to fill in the guards better, fitted a Hitchcocks peashooter exhaust and I lengthened the side stand 40mm. When they are released I'm going to buy the rear tail lights and blinkers to fit to mine and remove the old train looking rear lights.
I have a problem with the twin silencers which are too long, not parallel to the ground and pushing outwards like the interceptor... the super meteor had it perfectly
I'm really liking the look of the Classic 650. I already ride the Continental GT650, a bit different from the Classic 650 ...but also the Classic 350 (and both are great bikes). PS I like the Red & Cream one and the Teal, I'd probably go for one of these rather than the Black and Chrome.
I think the size of the fender is emphasized by the frame rods on the sides. If the fender could be a touch lower and not have the rods on the side, it could be better, but on the other hand it would look more boring.
I know what your talking about, for the people who are seeing the current vesions of classics for them it looks fine, but for us who admire the old classics we know how bad this is. Uneven asymmetrical back mudgaurd low fat sitting made it into bloody crusier bobber which real classic never was.
The teal is fab and the red and white one looks great too. The colour that is. The bikes themselves are misshapen. The 350 classic is perfect from every angle. They should have just put the 650cc engine in that one .....
The problem is the wheels and tires. They need to change them to tubeless spoked rims with taller-sidewall tires. The wheels that come on the bike are too low profile and modern looking.
It needs a bigger back tyre , a 150/80 x 18 will give a bigger rolling radius and affect the gearing slightly , but nothing a sprocket change wouldn’t fix
@@timboharty7325 yes, that as well, but the classic bikes do not use wide tyres. The best example of that modern ridiculousness is Harley. They used 130-150 tyres back in the day, now look at the breakout - 240mm :O
