Also just a note on Uni side of things, I go to Solent university for mt and it’s 24-30 hrs in first year then goes up by between 5-10 hrs as you progress through the years. 3hrs of your week is spent in lectures and seminars the rest is practical. So contact hrs does also vary extremely from Uni to uni. Hope this helps people. Such a fab and informative video xx

Also we do public shows starting second year and another in third year plus live brief with industry professionals. Plus great optional units in the later years of degree. In first year do a 20-30 min excerpt from a show x

You have no idea how helpful this is for me!! I've always thought that drama school may not be quite right for me because I love doing side projects and working on different things. I'm actually starting at Uni of Exeter in 2 weeks and I can't believe that I've come across this video it's like fate hahaha. I took a gap year and did lots of film stuff and learnt to love directing as well as acting. I'm now super happy I chose Exeter because I have like 4 projects I'm planning to do soon too so I think it sounds perfect for me that theres only 11 hours a week. Because of Rona there may be even less too! Thanks again for this video!

Hi I’m actually going to be taking a gap year soon and I’ve been researching different things to do throughout the year to help me gain experience. Do you have any suggestions about work places/programmes to apply to for school leavers?

@@datstrue375 i personally didn't do any programmes, I had a part time job and then attended local networking events for film and collaborated with people and got experience that way. It depends what you want to do! I want to go into film eventually so I got experience on sets starting through student films :)

Hi lovely, I am very late but I went to drama sixth form too and only had half the time for a levels:( So I feel a bit disadvantaged applying, how did you combat that? Great video btw! Two pretty and smart friends♥️

How much practical work did you get to do within the BA Drama course alone? Right now I'm trying to decide between going to Drama school or studying Spanish and Drama at University. Spanish is my backup plan, so a joint honours seems ideal and I have an offer to study it but I am very concerned about the practical side of it and if there are opportunities to meet casting directors ect

We did 3, 3 hour practical workshops a week in first year, second year and third year! You definitely get to do a lot of practical work at Exeter. Alongside actual course hours you can make up a lot of practical hours in rehearsal for extra curricular theatre society shows too! There’s less opportunity to meet casting directors and agents through the course than at drama school, but you can always go on to a masters at drama school!

I really want to become an actor and go to drama school but I don't think I'll get in. Do you think it's a good idea to go to uni and join a drama society or should I just study drama at a normal uni? I don't have any experience in acting and I would like to do classes which I've booked already but I don't know if i have enough experience/technique to do an audition for this year so what do you think x ?
