Bloody hell this deserves a national geographic cinematography award guys!!! What a beautiful country, wish I lived there! Oh wait… I do 🤣 🇦🇺
Hiya Kap, we were on the same boat and I didn’t even see you haha. You stole my words, absolutely beautiful vids that could easily be advertising, stunning. Oh u live up that way, lucky girl. Friends niece lives at Airlie Beach, no wonder she and her husband visit her whenever they can. It’s stunningly beautiful.
Gotta love them both, so natural, relaxed funny and a beautiful couple. I’ve watched every vid of Aus they’ve done. What a fantastic holiday. Guess I better watch the other countries they’ve visited now.
Gee I feel like I’ve been on a holiday watching them lol
Enjoy the sun & warmth, heater time here lol
@@bernadettelanders7306 haha nah I don’t live up that way, I’m in Sydney. Now go get some sleep woman! 😂
As a Queenslander I'd appreciate your honest thoughts about the condition of the Great Barrier Reef in the places you visit. Awesome vlog as usual.
Aussies have it pretty good, not going to lie. The lifestyle here is basically the idealized American lifestyle that never quite seems to happen in America 😅
@@OnePackWanderersHey guys, call into Palm Cove 20 minutes north of Cairns. Beaut for flying your Mini 3 Pro out to Double Island. Safe travels. Loving the videos. You will also love Port Douglas.
The addition of a drone is probably the best decision you've made this year!! Love it already!
And of course buying Blueberry :)
The best thing about beaches is they are extremely personal things. They are often linked to memories and moments in our lives. So you have every right to claim a beach as the best but more important is to never forget why it's the best. You are both on this journey together in life and you'll never experience the same things in the same way ever again. Wishing you both all the happiness in life.
You two have the perfect Yin and Yang relationship. Tia gets all excited, Cheveyo is the stoic, logical calm personality. You lucky buggers! 🙂
thelifeandtimes
That’s a description of the difference between men and women, not just these two.
North Queensland is where I grew up. No matter how far I go around the Earth, and these days I live in a skyscraper apartment, yet all day, everyday, there there is a little piece of the rainforests and the Great Barrier Reef that is with me in my heart all the time. You can leave North Queensland, but it never leaves you.
You two remain some of the nicest people I am lucky to follow. Thank you eternally for sharing your experiences. Incredible videography, educational dialogue and knowledge.
And the song on the boat was?????? I guess Cheap Wine ( and a 3 day growth) by Cold Chisel…..doesn’t get more Aussie than that 🐨🥂
I've been lucky enough to have visited the beaches of Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga ,The Cook Islands , Vanuatu ,Penang , Langkowie ,Phuket ,Bali and The Maldives and none of them stack up against Queensland's Whitehaven beach , .it is and should be protected as not only an Australian national treasure but a world heritage site and kept in its pristine state forever , What's the old saying leave only footprints and take only memories
Langkawi
I guess a video is a memory. And it means so many others can wonder at it without putting it at any risk.
@stenhard61.46.1 Langkawi is a Tropical island in Malaysia, and is very beautiful .
@@tomwareham7944 I know that. I also know how to spell it ( see your original post )!
Palawan?
"Cheveyo didn't because he hates Australia " 😂😂😂 This was one of my favourite of your videos. Whitehaven is just a spectacular beach. So glad you splurged a little.
You two definitely deserve a big wad of coin from the Aussie government for doing such a great job of showing the highlights of our big island and doing it while both being a joy to watch.
Thanks for posting …. Stay safe.
So agree with you there! Tourism Australia need to hop on board with this couple and offer some financial sponsorship for the way they are showcasing our magnificent country - better than any of their ads IMO - at least offer them free travel passes and National Park entry as well as buy them some coffees of course!
The full body wetsuits are necessary because they have irukandji jellyfish in the water and they are deadly. They are the size of your thumbnail and you can’t see them in the water.
That’s pretty scary. Didn’t realize they were that small 😬
@@OnePackWanderers your vlogs are amazing, keep enjoying life the both of you,
You should go to Daintree National Park, climb Mount Bartle Frere (tropical rainforest, don't worry no snow!!) and see the Cassowary bird! 🌞🌴
Whitehaven is certainly in the conversation about best Aussie beaches. Any beach in Esperance and of course Wineglass Bay in Tasmania are in there too. There's a few off the beaten track beaches in northern NSW that few people ever visit that are also in the mix. We are so lucky, and it's a joy to see you guys having these experiences.
Tasmania getting some in the top beaches lists wink wink
i live in ireland now but i used to live on hamilton island, which is near to whitehaven beach, i try to tell friends in ireland what it is like but words never seem to describe it
I've travelled to most places in the world and I'm convinced that Whitehaven Beach is the best beach in the world. Not the best for snorkeling though - you need to save up for a trip out to the reef when you get to Cairns.
Wow! What an absolute stunning place, thank you so much for now putting that whole experience on my bucket list. Your drone shots were absolutely breathtaking 🩵. I’m so thankful I get to see so much of my country through the eyes of two amazing people 💜🩵💜
This is one of your most upbeat joyful videos EVER 🎉 and you are always upbeat, loved it. How seriously beautiful is Whitehaven, I love it there
Whitehaven is like that beach at the end of the movie ‘Contact’
Except it’s real. Absolutely incredible!
@@OnePackWanderers OMG yes, someone’s dream scape is our reality….
That was BY FAR my favourite video you've uploaded 😊. The infectious joy & the "pinch me" moment when you're sitting on the beach is tangible. Something about the sea, sun, the ocean & having a few cold beers is just magical. Loved it!
I live in Victoria but born and raised in Queensland, You just made me home sick.Thank you 😊
A trip to the outer reef is what you want to see the most spectacular pristine corals and fish, plus the water is much clearer.
Watching Tia just makes you happy
Pretty sure every Australian has a memory of the beach. They are so much apart of our lives since most of us live on the coast.
Laughing to myself at everyone yelling along to Cold Chisel's Cheap Wine. Bloody typical, hahahaha
That group was so much fun 😂
Not the beach, it's YOUR enjoyment that brings a lump to my throat. Thank you.😅😅😅❤❤❤
they counted a record 5,096 whales last week in New South Whales migrating north during the annual census, up nearly 500 over last year. I'm not sure how many are in Queensland waters yet
Yeah, there sure are better places on the reef to dive & snorkel, however you'll be spending several hours each way on a catamaran ferry just to get out there and back (which can be a very choppy ride too, surrounded by a lot of seasick passengers). Did a trip out to the reef & back from Cairnes a while ago and it seemed that we spent most of the day underway on the boat just motoring out there & back, with only a few short hours actually moored there for diving & snorkelling. Your experience offered so much more in terms of the sailing experience, the hike and beach experience etc so unless you're a hard-core experienced diver then I'd say what you did was a far better use of a day out (and far cheaper than many dive experiences to the outer reef).
Just a tip if you're heading north through Bowen; you can literally snorkel over coral directly from the local beach, which is a great way to experience the reef literally for free. We stayed there at the local caravan park and would simply walk down to the beach for an early morning "reef" snorkel just to start the day off.
Waiting for your videos to drop is like waiting with great anticipation for the next episode of whatever the latest viral TV series is😂 That was so uplifting! It's been years since we visited Whitehaven and this vlog makes me want to go back. Great cinematography!👍 The drone shots are spectacular. Tia's effervescence is what makes these vlogs - simply adorable♥Cheveyo, your accent is great ... keep it going. Yes, the reef is better the further north you go but what most people don't realise is that you will not see the true colours of the coral during the day because the sunlight has the effect of diluting the colours. Night snorkelling/diving with a torch brings out the vibrancy of the colours. "Great Northern: The beer for up here".
Tia's effervescence was enhanced with 4 beers !!!
For the best coral you have to go to the outer reef - and that’s a long way out. However the Outer reef is closer to the coast in the Cairns region than the Whitsundays. When you get to Cairns you should go out again. From my experience in the past 2 years, reef trips are about $100pp cheaper than the Whitsundays. Try Sunlovers Cruises to Moore Reef. The best coral is at the edges of the roped off snorkling area - where it drops off into deeper water.
So glad that you guys enjoyed your Whitsundays trip... just another magic part of our beautiful country. There's more magic to come as you head north; please do visit the Daintree rainforest... it's the oldest living tropical rainforest in the world. And also do the Kuranda Skyrail just north of Cairns... you'll be blown away.
I second this!
It has been 15 years since we have been to Whitehaven and, thankfully, it looks as pristine now as then. Great filming!! Please tell me you "sunsscreened" many times!!!
What a brilliant video. I think the Aussie tourist board should be paying you for promoting our country in such a positive fun way. Thanks so much , you are both delightful❤️❤️❤️
Make sure you do a trip out to the outer Great Barrier Reef when you are in Cairns. It is way better than the reefs on the Whitsundays. You don't have to wear a stinger suit there either.
It was beyond our budget, unfortunately. We’re going to see if we can manage it in Coral Bay, which we’ve heard from numerous sources is in better shape than the Barrier Reef these days.
Not too bad when you consider this was filmed around the Winter Solstice (which may explain the chilly water, even in the Whitsundays)
This has the ‘feeling’ you’re on ‘holiday’. 😊
We have a lot of beautiful beaches here in Western Australia, but wow I have to agree this beach is unreal. Love whoever did the drone shots, looks amazing!
They know, they've been there. The most beautiful beach in the world is the one you happen to be on at the time.
Touché
Beaches around Esperance would have to be right up there amongst my favourite beaches in Australia.
I'm very biased to our beautiful beaches in WA, but I have to agree that beach was stunning and the drone view was amazing!
"it got pretty rowdy on the way back" LOL welcome to drunk Australia - we all sing songs together 🤣🤣
I didnt even know that some of Pirates was filmed up there, thats so cool!
So glad that you guys had such an amazing day. When I was holidaying in Cairns a few years back I splurged on a day trip to an island called Fitzroy Island, I'll never forget that either. Your shots of the area were stunning, so glad you had an amazing time 😊
Is that the one with the musical beach?
Guys, you need to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef out of Port Douglas. You're probably paying the same however it's absolutely amazing. The colours, the number of fish, it's just like you see on TV, absolutely beautiful. One of the best, if not the best thing I've ever done. If you've come this far you can't not do it. Same type suits but the water is like you're in a bath, so warm. The life is so abundant everywhere you look. We even got to swim along with a turtle, and we saw "Nemo" fish in the little house. Absolutely fantastic.
Gorgeous indeed! I like the drone shots !!! Wow !!!
Great vid. Once Captain Cook left Botany Bay (Sydney) and started sailing north (1770) he didn’t realise the size of the reef and was trapped inside the reef for months, culminating in hitting the reef and damaging his ship near what is now Cooktown. As stunning as the Queensland coast is it must have been a terrifying couple of months.
Not sure if you’re heading to Cairns. Absolutely worth doing the Quicksilver day trip to the outer reef (Agincourt Reef), Kuranda, the sky rail, and the Daintree. If you go to the Daintree, look out for a casowary, - sort of like an emu in drag 😂. Also worth the trip to the Curtain fig tree. Cairns and the surrounding area is paradise.
Emu in drag 😂🤣
@@OnePackWanderersdon't get too close though, they can be pretty aggressive!
30 years ago, I drove my small family and my Aussie in-laws 12 hours with a rental minivan from Brisbane to Airlie Beach to see Great Barrier Reef the 1st time. I didn't know how I did that for driving 12 hours, also first time driving on the left side. Without GPS and cell phones, using AAA maps 😂😅. Anyway, we stayed there for 2 nights, and we went on different boat tour every day. Airlie Beach has been a secret vacation spot for Australians, I've helped them keeping this secret without telling anyone 😂😅 they let the foreigners go to Cairns instead. Just like we let the foreigners go to Ohau, then we go to Maui in Hawaii🤑😁😂
Watching your video, Whitsunday is still amazing likes 30 years ago. Although they added a Whitsunday sign and walking structure, it is still an inhabited island to keep its nature. 13:30 this was the beautiful image that burnt into my memory the day I was in Whitsunday 30 years ago. 😎 Very good video👍
Airlie is pronounced 'Air' (as in what you breathe) and 'lee' (as in a person's name). Aussies do not put an emphasis on R as the Americans do, which i think originally comes from the many Irish who emigrated to the USA. The Whitsunday Islands and area is beautiful! When we were there the whales came alongside the boat and I actually got scared that they would tip us over as they are huge. The whales migrate up and down the eastern coast of Oz.
If you’re travelling to Port Douglas you should do an outer reef tour!! the snorkelling is amazing, feels like you’re in a movie!
(to Tia) "You're adorable" - Cheveyo, 2023
(saying what we are all thinking) ^_^
Personally I love your Aussie accent so keep using it 😂 how good is Australia? So much to see, experience in one country. Bloody love my home and even more with you both showing it off with your drone, holy shit how good is the drone footage? 🎉 when I saw whales up north I was so excited and I will never ever forget it. You didn’t see them but who cares you had the best day surrounded by amazing people, scenery and food……oh and the drinks 😂🥰🇦🇺
Airlie beach is as air-lee
Glad you got to try the Great northern 🤣😂🤣🤣🤣
Where you were was not a representation of the great barrier Reef... That is further north off Cairns ...
15:48 This song is part of the unofficial Oz citizenship test if you want to be proper Aussies, where you need to answer alternative words that are sung. In this case "Cheap wine and a 3 day goat" Cold Chisel. Along with "It's a long way to the shop, if you want a sausage roll" ACDC, and "Will I ever see your face again... No, way. Get @#$%& off!" by the Angels! 🙃
You were conned. The Great barrier Reef is further off the coast.
Air Lee Beach.. that's how you pronounce it
That's it. And if an American says 'rise up lights' fast, they're saying 'razor blades' in Australian pronunciation.
🙂 Whitehaven is special 🙂
The WhitSundays is more of a sailors paradise than a snorkeller's paradise 🙂.
I was lucky enough to spend time sailing the Whitsundays in the 90's - it was a lot quieter and a lot more bohemian.
Great show guys - enjoy the Australian winter in the beautiful north. 🙂
Yes it’s not a snorkelling paradise I agree. But anywhere on the ocean for me is the best.
@@stewartl5109 🙂 Hard to argue with that 🙂
I spent my 50th in Airlie Beach with my twin brother. They have a music festival every year in early November. It's so beautiful. We went out to Whitehaven Beach, and you're right, it's one of the most amazing places on the planet. So beautiful it's hard to comprehend, and so hard to explain to someone who hasn't been there. Thanks for sharing this with everyone. Your videos are an absolute joy. ❤
how beautiful - your trip today brings back happy memories for me, my husband and I visited the Whitsundays in 1997 with our 6 month old baby, - that Whitehaven beach is incredible - so lovely to see it again on your video - the coral was amazing back then, and there were gazillions of colourful fish - we stayed at Hook Island and you could walk off the beach and swim straight into the coral reefs from the shore - they were incredible - I hope they are still as pristine. We also went up to Port Douglas and Cairns that trip. Last year we went snorkelling out from Port Douglas and I was shocked at the state of the reef there - it looked like the video you shared today pale and relatively lifeless :(. Whereas in 1997 it was bright and colourful. This is too sad and alarming.
Shocking how much bleaching has occurred. Friends went in the 70s and said it was spectacular. Sadly not enough political will to protect it.
Fun fact: You know why they make you fall backwards out of the boat when you go diving? It's because if you fell forwards, you'd still be on the boat. The more you know! =)
Haha the tour guide lady said you can go forwards or backwards and I was trying to figure out how in the heck anyone could go forwards 😂
That got my first laugh for the day!
😂😂😂😂
Happy to have stumbled across your channel while planning our own Australian adventure return. Your videos have been a pleasure to watch and helpful in ideas of places to see. If you haven't already passed it by, Townsville and Magnetic Island are worth a stop, made it there in 2017. In Townsville you can walk through Strand Park, lots of WW2 and Australian history. Castle Hill Lookout, you can drive or walk up and gives you a nice sunset view. Magnetic Island was a really nice day trip, walk on ferry is about $20 return. You can walk around for the whole day. Take the bus to one of the trail heads like Arthur Point, the Forts and hike for several hours. It was an interesting mix of WW2 stuff, views and koala's. Happy Travels!
New subscriber, loving these vids, only watched about 6 or 7 so far, but this is hands down my fav so far. Not only was it stunning, I loved seeing you guys enjoy yourselves. When Tia said one drink, and *4 appeared on the screen, I lost it. So funny. And then could tell you guys had had a few and were feeling happy at the end. “Subscribe!” Hilarious. You guys are both so fun to vicariously travel with! But you also make me want to go traveling too. Well done!
I wouldn't worry much about stingers in the dry season far more people are eaten by the crocs in the Whitsundays!
You are so right that was really an awesome looking beach , the sand fine as sugar , the sea as blue as turquoise , the blue sky , the gentle breezes , gentle waves , crystal clear water, perfect tranquility .. sure is might fine good lookin beach wasn't it ?
The only issue i have with your video's is it's not long enough but i get around that by watching them twice 👍👍
Great vlog. Hopefully both of you had time to swim on the beach as well. Dont miss this if you're ever there. The water is so clear with schools of fish and mantle rays to see every now and then.
Whitehaven beach is stunning! Fantastic camera work guys.
Ningaloo reef in WA is another great coral reef option. My marine biologist colleagues all loved the Great Barrier Reef, but everyone of them preferred Ningaloo. I would love to travel there vicariously with you two. (And swimming with whale sharks at shark bay. And Karijini National Park.) Wherever you choose to go will be great.
And don't put too much pressure on yourselves to regularly upload vlogs while you are up north. Places with decent internet are few and far between. Enjoy the remoteness and the wide open spaces.
and you can just walk out to Ningaloo Reef, no need for a half hour boat ride like the Great Barrier Reef
I totally agree and you don't need a boat to experience coral reefs and larger fish at Ningaloo, also Karajini will sear a place in your memory forever, it's truly unique, especially for the adventurous.
I had a week sailing a cat in the Whitsundays. Unforgettable week. Stunning Islands.
Glad you two are having a great time.
- if it has food, Tia’s happy!
The drone was worth it, great shots!
Drinking at 10:30am in Australia is perfectly fine, cause it’s last night in the U.S……your actually ahead! 😁
Hahaha last night in the US!
Hope you're making it around to Ningaloo in WA. Awesome snorkelling just on the beach in town in Coral Bay.
Love the drone shots! 💕. Don’t forget to see The BiG MANGO in Bowen. . it’s a Tia’s thing 😂
Whitehaven beach is absolutely stunning. So happy for you both that you had an opportunity to experience it!
Very enjoyable watching, my younger years re-lived! Thank you, subscribed!
Your clips are amazing guys. Really inspirational to us smaller channels. Glad you're both enjoying time here in our homeland !!
You guys got the drone just in time!! The view of the sandbars and water from the air is like a painting! Love the drone shots. Happy Travels
Australia's beaches are amazing for various reasons, one being they vary in colour from white to bright red. Try to get to Roebuck Bay near Broome WA and check out the stunning beach there. It's a sensational red beach, and next to the bright blue water, it's a photographer's dream!
Australia has a reputation for the dangerous animals but actually the most dangerous thing in this country is the wunderlust nostalgia. If you catch it you might accidentally continue to explore the country for the rest of your life. It's pretty dangerous. I've seen it happen before.
Can confirm! I've caught it in a baaad way. I've Kiste been for a month this february and I am already itching to go back.
It was alot of fun watching this video and seeing you both kick back, relax and have a few drinks. Well done!
Thanks for taking us along.
So awesome to see the world through your perspective !
The reason why they take people to the parts of the reef that they go to is because there has been a lot of damage to the coral so they avoid those areas to let the reef heal. This brought back a lot of memories for me as I am Australian but I live in the Netherlands and my wife and i came back to Australia in 2014 and what you showed of White Beach was exactly what I remember. Awesome video guys.
Another fantastic video guys. Im so invested in this trip, as are 60k others who are along for the ride I cant wait to see what you think of the top end of our beautiful country. You are in for a treat. Safe travels to you both 😊
I Just found you guys tonight and im obsessed, your energy together is amazing and youre so open and passionate at everything you do. Can't wait for new vids, and will definitely be expploring more and more of your old vids
This is THE BEST episode yet! Congrats. We love the energy and the joy you share with us.
So happy that you got to visit the beautiful Whitsunday Islands. Your video did it justice and your drone certainly helps to show all the sights.
That is one really nice trip ... so worth the money! Thanks for taking us along!!! 😇😇😇
This tour looks amazing. What a wonderful way to see the Whitsundays. I’m looking forward to seeing where you go next. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Whitehaven is everything you dream of and more. It is amazing and a jewel of GBR.
You guys passed hideaway cape Hillsborough on the way up (beach with kangaroos)
It makes me happy every time I see one of your videos. You two are great - enjoy our beautiful country.
Just started watching your videos. Love them.
Just went to Perth for the first time earlier this year - loved it. Grew up in Mackay, about 90 mins south of Airlie Beach. Love the area.
If you are stopping in Cairns, Kuranda is worth going to, as is The Daintree. If you're stopping in Townsville, Magnetic Island is worth the trip.
Incredible drone piloting!! Glad you two are having a great holiday. Best wishes... all the way!
✨ @6:46 The reason divers enter the water backwards is because if they went forward, they would just fall into the boat.
😂😂😂
Touché 😂
Funny one, Dad
Glad you got to see the northern end of whitehaven on a sunny day. I mentioned it one of your earlier videos, but you had probably already been there before i commented. 😊 there are much better snorkelling places, but usually the outer reef is the place to go for that. Glad you are splurging on a handful of bucket list items. 👍
When you get to Cairns, it's well worth taking the 45 minute ferry ride to beautiful Fitzroy Island. Much better snorkelling right off the beach, tropical rainforest national park, serene little sheltered bays. Hope you miss the cold and wet front moving across the country.
Amazing video guys! Have been following you both since you arrived in Japan.
Absolutely love you both and your work! Please keep an eye on the weather forecast- unseasonal, heavy rain is coming and apparently will cause widespread flooding in Queensland.
@OnePackWanderers - Hi Tia and Cheveyo. Love your video journal! It looks like you are in, or soon will be, in Townsville. If you are after a nice spot to enjoy a sunset without the bustle (its very busy here at the moment - school holidays and tourist season), I can recommend walking around the Jezzine Barracks area next to the Strand - Garrabara Lawn area and the adjacent boardwalk are particularly nice and have the bonus of a peaceful ocean waves as the soundtrack.
Also if you after the “biggest”, check out Wallaman Falls (west of Ingham) - it’s the biggest single drop waterfall in Australia and a nice drive too.
This was perfect, guys! Great vlog! Top notch all round! You guys are hilarious and so fun to watch.
Glad you guys are enjoying and having so much fun here...
Loved you guys doing your thing again, and so glad you enjoyed yourselves.
Fantastic video! So much fun!
The Polynesian kayak you saw at the beginning? That was an outrigger canoe. ❤
Capturing magic!
I've never seen it done so consistently!
Another wonderful post from my favourite youtube vloggers. Seriously, I always look forward to your next vlog with anticipation - addictive! Your drone shots are just amazing! You've taken to this new activity like pros. I love that you love Australia too, and so great to see our beautiful country through your videos as I haven't been to the many places that you have featured in your videos 😅 Before I forget, not sure if you know that those coffee machines in servos are, most of the time, quite decent and costs a fraction to what they cost in cafes. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful adventures. Travel safe always you two, and keep enjoying life and each other ❤
PS
I live in the Gold Coast and hope you can make it here one day😊
Love your production values and effort and love that you love our country! You're always welcome here!
Australia is one of my favorite countries !!!
Perfect day, perfect beach! Glad you had such a great time. Yes Tia, the drone definitely added to the experience!
Your guys' vlogs were already amazing and comforting, but the drone footage takes the travel vlogs to a whole new level! Gorgeous shots!
Fantastic video guys....the scenery was insane. What a wonderful day!
You guys are the best!!! Another awesome vlog! Whitehaven is definitely a must see, it’s truly incredible. I’m so happy that you had such a beautiful experience on your day trip.
Can’t wait for the next vlog, you’re absolutely killing it! ❤
You may be way pass this town by now. At Tully, about 100kms south of Cairns is the BIG gumboot. It is just off the Bruce Hwy. Why a gumboot. Tully receives the most rain of any town in Australia.
You’re right. Cameras don’t do it justice. Colours you’ll never see anywhere else.
