Legendary psych-rock troupe Gong’s intergalactic voyage has once more entered Earth’s orbit, with their new album Unending Ascending due for release on 3rd November via Kscope. The record promises to offer yet another mind-expanding set of songs, following the success of 2019’s 'The Universe Also Collapses'. Gong have also released their new single, 'Tiny Galaxies'. Gong will be appearing alongside Ozric Tentacles on a co-headline tour throughout the UK in November/December 2023 as well as ‘The Last Blast’ Tour in 2024 - head to their social media pages for more information. The universe of Gong began in 1969 when Daevid Allen was inspired by a profound psychedelic vision. A founder member of Soft Machine, Allen incorporated his spiritual and metaphysical leanings into an evolving collective. More a mythology than a band in the conventional sense, Gong established itself as one of the most unique, innovative and experimental rock groups of the seventies, through an exploratory mix of rock, jazz and psychedelia with elements of mysticism and surrealism, unafraid to deliver its messages directly, obliquely or whimsically.

Current frontman Kavus Torabi has been part of some great projects. He was in a band called The Monsoon Bassoon in the 90's, played guitar for Cardiacs' live shows during the early 2000s, had a band called Knifeworld after that all psychedelic prog, and then formed an ambient electronica band with Michael J York and Steve Davis (yes, THAT Steve Davis) called Utopia Strong and he releases his own solo material.
