I take ‘pride’ in dumbing down and playing whatever appropriate role in social situations in order to blend in and not attract attention to my ‘massive intellectual prowess’. The truth is… I take no enjoyment in looking down upon those who have had less opportunities than I…. and where possible…. I gain more pleasure in lifting others up and offering encouragement.

I agree. However, my biggest hurdle has always been establishing my perspective in order to avoid arguing. There are always too many Chefs in the kitchen; to use a cliché.
If a situation doesn’t affect me, I’m okay yielding the floor. But. I despise having to claw my way into a discussion that affects me.

Enjoying this. Looks like you have Nietzsche in another video, just need some Seneca and J K Toole (A Confederacy of Dunces) to keep me busy this fall. Haha.

Politeness is necessary in society and varies in intensity from the failure to observe standard mores at one end of the spectrum to outright aggression and criminality at the other. Once cultural standards in any civilization begin to decay, so will polite society and decency followed by a general disrespect for even basic law and institutions as order is replaced by turmoil and finally utter chaos.

No. I’m tired of being calm. Being calm never got me a damn thing.

I think calm denotes patience which can get you everything. But, if you have little patience then you might want to nurture calm in order to develop patience in order to achieve calm…. Etc

You might ask why are you trying to ‘get’ anything. If you calm down…. that which you are trying to ‘get’ will come to you…

8:42. This doesn’t expand on the concept of relativity. An insulting person only looks bad to those who are smarter. But the insulting person looks superior to those who are not as intelligent. I’m thinking of the Biff cronies from Back to the Future.
What happens to the social hierarchy when the less intelligent see their idol outsmarted by the intelligent person? Like when Biff ran into a pile of horse manure?

Àh, so by being a social comedian you can expect harsh responses, but by being a stage comedian you can expect praise

There's a verse in the new testament about the crucifixion and in it, explains a young man bares himself naked in front of Jesus on his way to be crucified and i never really understood why he was naked until this commentary here. God works in mysterious ways.

I am polite,,to you in reality

But by laying bare one vulnerablizes oneself, so why not resort to sarcasm? Social contract dismisses it for politeness unless acquaintance has already been made
