I fell in love with Tori as a 18 year old woman. I'm now thirty three. I listen to her music religiously and her lyrics loyally. Looking at her reside in her trance over every word as if she recently wrote them, makes me feel less crazy. She is genius yes, but more importantly, these messages travel their own route to fans. who need intelligent words in this boring world. This type of artist, is not born everyday.
I suppose I always took this song quite literally. Blue girl because the embilical cord is wrapped around her neck. I mean the whole song is about giving birth. "You see I'm tangled up, I've got a kitten in my hair". It's brilliant and sort of funny.
which would put even her in the same boat as us when it comes to questioning "meanings". tho surely a more reliable translator. Tori's take on it? in quotes? "Sticks, rocks, food, all sundry items came into the faery donut, including my feet over my head and a little blue girl." and: "this was the hardest one not to get on the record. This one just said, "you know, i'll go somewhere else and i'll hangout and i'll come and play whenever you want me to." it's the sweetest vibe, this song." :]
@tinkerbell110022 not at all. I'll be 28 soon and I've been listening to her to little earthquakes. I always go to her wether im happy, sad, angry or just want to feel some kind of passion. I don't think getting tori tattoos is fanatic-it's honoring :) from one ears with feet to another
knowing tori, she could have very literally had a kitten in her hair while rolling around the floor. :] that's not to say i've chosen that as what i think brought this lyric into being. don't discount the faery that tori would easily tell you this song is. there are times when writing is mostly listening/capturing. tori's often had to actually learn songs AFTER she's "written" them because they came from another source that has little to do with premeditated constructions. (just one more part)
in your interpretation she says something quite vulgar. with the exception of the instances of when the goddess has deciphered some of these lyrical pictures for us by directly explaining their reference or intent, it's all what you have made it out to be. no offense. i'm not going to argue with another tori lover and listener. just know that your factual sounding statement could still be so very off. :] (comment continued cuz i'm all verbose n stuff)

0:20-0:50 = Genius. As is all of the song, but that improv was amazing.

Perhaps it refers to n interracial relationship she had and the response of her VERY religious (preacher) father. Just a guess.

Erm. The kitten in my hair part is funny because she says something quite vulgar without actually saying it.

that men are immature?
black boy my daddy would scream?
