I feel like people find abusive relationships nostalgic and familiar. It's easier to stay damaged than it is to fix or improve ourselves. So people like having toxic yet relatable relationships present that makes them feel normal...but to the normal wired mind its blantant and apparent abuse
The fact that as a teenager and a kid I idolized Jody and Yvette's relationship because I thought it was normal. My own parents would fight and abuse each other one day, and then act like nothing ever happened the next. To this day it is still traumatizing.
