  • In this week's deep dive, we're looking back on the War Within Quest. Now that so much has occurred since then, especially with the Lua's Prey Update, there's more to unpack and further, we have what I would consider a canonical ending, even though we are given a choice at the end, as well as some interesting changes that have occurred since it's initial launch. I love the War Within, seems a bit underrated but the changes it brought is what made Warframe what it is right now.

  • @shakeemsymonds7362

Things I want: Necramech PvP, ultra stances (primed stance mods or something), and YOUR ALIGNMENT ACTUALLY MATTERING SOMEHOW

  • @Dementis1049

So according to the Duviri Paradox, Teshin didn't die on Pergasa but fell to Duviri in the void portal. But I remember being mightily confused as to wether he died or not during the quest since DE changed him in relays to a RED mist. They later changed it to black as it is today.

You're probably my #1 WF lore curator at this point

  • @AngryCaesCorporation

Even with everything else that happened after, the War Within is still my favorite quest. The amount of lore, the pacing, the discovery of the Fortress... No other quest did that blend that good.

I think any of the choices for the Queen can be canonical with the Worm Queen cutscene later. If she survived then maybe she won in a fight with her and killed her herself, tired of always playing second fiddle when the other literally just lost to us tenno. Then either of the other just due to her being killed. I would really like to see this go somewhere for sure though. Appreciate the thoughts and video TheDsIEGE!

  • @danksalt5935

Every Dax took Kuva into them. In theory, all Kuva users are connected. Teshin might just sense a disturbance in us and shook us out of the hallucination.

  • @InexorWoW

My guess is that Teshin we interact with since Lua is the Void dopple and the Teshin we see in Duviri is the real one.

  • @aldredaynia2692

I would say there's a very apparent disparity in rank between the Elder Queen and the Worm Queen, and that combined with the Worm more clearly bearing the tell-tale ravages of Clone Rot give me the impression that only the Elder was actually an Orokin noble and the legend of the Twin Queens is merely a myth she created to manipulate the Grineer into serving her interests as the old empire broke apart, the Worm instead a mascot she designed to further prop up her claim to the throne.

I’m glad you’re back to TH-cam, your lore, videos or theories are always the best to watch. Keep up the great work.

Another thing during this quest i realised why the man in the wall seemed to appeared In the chains of harrow we are told some how manage to put all the attention on himself and also chain the man in the wall to prevent him from seeing or affecting reality or the tenno

  • @hypersectomy

Yaaas twins being the sign of the void taking someone over, hence wiping out or infesting twins.

  • @wolfenspeign

Excellent Video. It would be fantastic to see further development of the Queens, and maybe imagine them interacting the Star Map more like Lich Style. Grineer need a stronger Story Presence as well as Corpus moving forward, they need to be more than just enemies we wipe out. And it would be fascinating to see a Hive mind or something come out of the Infested, perhaps even at Odds with the void or something

  • @hypersectomy

"I don't need it anymore" we no longer communicate transference through the somatic link but as the void itself, transcending space and time.

Watching this back made me realize how much DE has improved their cutscene skills. This quest has so many awkward pauses. The overall voice acting improved a lot because there are some lines that just didn't sound right. Meanwhile back in the day when The War Within was released we actually thought the same compared to previous quests.

  • @galaxybrain_658

The small details within the main story quests, I believe, are something like traces of memories. The Tenno don’t have all their memories back after all, and they know they’re still missing several pieces. Perhaps the seven vague outlines of people in the Yuvan theatre are actually things we subconsciously know should be there but can’t quite remember yet. It makes me wonder, on subsequent play through a of the quests mecha-lotus is the one giving the Tenno commands. This could simply be a product of game design…. Or we really are replaying the quest, looping our memories back. Ordis had already demonstrated he has the ability to “play us” a soothing memory of the lotus after she leaves, what’s to say he isn’t helping us re-experience the quests. I had always assumed replaying the quests took place in a kind of irrelevant pocket dimension and it doesn’t actually happen within the world of warframe, but if it is happening again, albeit reconstructed from our memories, why would the Tenno keep doing it if not to search for information they don’t have. After all, we are the Tenno. When you think of it like that it raises a whole lot of questions. I’ll leave it to you DSiege.

I love your content, the pathways in which you think are often outside of my own and I find your viewpoints refreshing

  • @Jakman01

I suddenly started to get your vids on my recommended list, and you, have singlehandedly made me revisit what I thought I knew about the lore. Excellent voice over, script and presentation. I'm looking forward to all the new releases for Warframe and the lore implications it has. You've earned yourself a viewer through and through.

  • @darthcalanil5333

I think Teshin took a liking to us when he was assigned as a mentor and trainer back when the Tenno were used as soldiers. Maybe the Orikon use and abuse of Tenno convinced him to try and save us when he could, when Margulis couldn't.

  • @MAveric215

Something I noticed in the video, when the Continuity fails, the Warframe drops into a pool of Kuva (blood), and rises out after the Tenno transfers back in. Almost like a baptism in (void) blood. Before the baptism, the tenno is but a feeble child. After, they begin to grow and become independent. It is also after this baptism that the man in the wall manifests within them for the first time.
