When a champion cleans out the other top fighters in her division, she has to start taking opponents further down the rankings. That's my guess as to what happened here. Otherwise, it's just re-matches over and over.
Ayaka ‘s corner should have coached her not to go for the neck throw when she is shorter than her opponent . She doesn’t have the necessary leverage to bring the opponent down .
Also had chances to grape vine the right leg three times when she opted to overextend her body, even straining for a take down. Working harder and not smarter for a takedown. End result 0 take downs.

I hated to see the fence being grabbed. The ref told her to stop 3 or 4 times, no point deduction. The grappler would still loose, bc she didn't risk it all like Nicolini did against her. Oh well. Hopefully the striker has a batter match up soon.

Japanese MMA fighter shouldn't concentate on grappling skills as Asians are small built and generally not as strong as the Caucasians and Africans.Asians forte is their speed and versality.
That’s probably why they should grapple more tbh smaller means lower center of gravity and faster shot to takedowns akaya is just bad at setting up her takedowns
