- It’s hard raising a Golden Retriever puppy!
But the hardest phase is the puppy teething phase. Golden Retriever puppies are losing their baby teeth and getting their adult teeth during this time, and they’re extra bitey and chew a lot.
It only lasts a few months, but it can feel like an eternity as they’re biting your fingers and chewing up everything in your house…
So here’s a survival guide for surviving the puppy teething phase with your Golden Retriever.

Going by this video, I think our first golden was broken :D Apart from chewing up a single shoe once, she never did anything "wrong." No biting, no chewing things she shouldn't; nor did she ever beg at the table, or behave in any way less than an angel. Such a dear little thing.
Im jealous, i got mine less than 24h ago yet he already ‘tasted’ everything in the house
@@YAEMlKO ...so ours was definitely broken is what you're saying 😄
@@MagnusMoerkoereJohannesen definetly, i just came from a walk and he almost ate a stick i had to pull it out of his mouth lol
You found the "golden" golden retriever, lol.
I've heard plenty of times that goldies have a bad teething phase. Ours is 6 months old now and almost done. I consider myself lucky because she wasn't too bad after all. When she would "bite" us we'd just turn around and ignore her for a couple seconds. If the then actually tried to bite we'd hold her mouth shut and if she'd really wanted to see who's boss then we'd roll her on her back. I know it's kind of frowned upon but that's what her mother/other dogs would've done as well.
Not sure if it was my good training or if all credit goes to my dog...i passed through this biting phase superfast n have a dog who will never bite or hurt a soul ever... God bless Golden Retrievers man seriously crazy gentle souls
That's why Golden Retrievers are the best souls on planet earth
My pup has all kinds of toys to play with and gets all sorts of training treats, and still, I have multiple scars from his teeth. I now spray ME with apple cider vinegar and white vinegar mix when he starts biting. My hand, pant legs, whatever he should not bite on gets sprayed if he gets nippy and won't redirect. It is helping. I seriously considered surrendering him (and HE'S NOT MY FIRST GOLDEN PUPPY!!!) He's respecting the vinegar. He can chew on so many things, multiple soft and hard toys, the sticks (maple) he brings inside, what-have-you. He is NOT allowed to chew on people! He is not allowed to chew on me.
My pup has been going wild. I know it’s a phase, he loves my socks and pants.
I wish there was some tips on the digging too.
this was very helpful thanks and my we are getting a rescue puppy and we already have pitbulls and a cat and the reason why we decided to get a rescue puppy because they are amazing and thx a lot and Oscar is adorable
Thank you very much ❤️
You're welcome 😊
Jake and others: I have what I am sure is a ridiculous question: Is a collar necessary the first few months unless they are going outside of the house? With our previous puppy we used the rope leash with a loop on the end. We kept one right by the crate door and always at hand. Any advice is appreciated!
I love these videow
Neutering golden retriever
right now the hardest thing is tick season and how to get them off …he is not having it! don’t know what to do to get him to let us remove them!
Put Vaseline on the tick that Smithers the tick. In about 15 mins u should be able to remove the tick with tweezers.
Smothers
My golden never had ticks. The vet gave him a single tablet for deworming + “anti” ticks. Try asking for it. I have to give him every 6 months. Also pretty cheap too.
This video is pretty much telling me that golden retrievers bad behavior correction has to be manage in a very special way and different from other breeds? I thought dogs are dogs, why are there special ways to threat them?
It's called teething. They aren't biting.
They are
We all deserve hell, we all have sinned but the grace of God and the blood of Christ is what saves us. Repent from your sins, and put your trust in Jesus Christ before it's too late, before the Great White Throne Judgment.
Get off your soap box
What does this have to do with what he is talking about
@@debrafirestone861 It doesn't matter, what matters is where you go when you die. Are you going to heaven or hell? There will be a day in which God will judge the whole world according to every idle word, thought, and deed. Are you ready? No liars, no thieves, no adultures, no idolaters shall inheret God's kingdom. God commands you to live holy, repent from your sins before it's too late.
naw Im sticking with Golden's no matter what. That and a life full of sin is the answer to happiness. And when I am ready to die I might ask for forgiveness, but only if there are Golden Retrievers in heaven...this guy with his repenting nonsense needs 2 things, one is a life and 2 is a Golden Retriever....otherwise life can be a living hell.
@@jamesdombrowski7612 You can't fool God. It's not about repenting of your sins, it's about having faith in God. That faith leads you to repentance. Ray Comfort will go to hell if he keeps up like that and so will you if you keep up like this. In the end it's your choice, so if you end up in hell, don't blame God.
