Dude, thank you so much for sharing this. Thanks to this video me and my dad were able to repair a Double Decker Carousel for my sister! It's truly as the saying goes: A Random Junk Channel is a Random Man's Treasure!
Mine would click and stop at the same point every revolution. I packed the gearbox with grease And replaced two legs. Works now! Thanks for the info on taking one apart.
Excellent step-by-step which helped me find the problem and repair my daughter's Carousel. 12 tooth 3mm gear on the drive spindle was cracked. Bought the replacement, installed, and reassembled the carousel. It now works like a champ. Curious to know what type of grease you recommend. I know certain types of grease can damage plastics. I used a silicone based lubricant but would have preferred to use grease. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
HappyHolidaysparts.com has them I modified a gear from this link to work by drilling out the center hole to the right size: 58pcs Plastic Gears - amzn.to/3sIHPUB

On your video you mention the diameter of the smallest gear was 3 mm, but i never heard how many teeth it had. was it 16? I enjoyed the video.
3mm is the hole size. The gear is a 16 tooth.
Where are you located I have a Anniversary carousel built in 2013.
It doesn't turn.
Thanks

I am glad it helped.
Use PTFE grease.
Where did you buy the gear? I need 14tooth 3mm gear. Thank you.

Where do I go fir a repair like this?
do you take repair jobs? I have 3 village pieces that need to be repaired and I don't really know where to find anyone to do this?
I do. Email randomjchannel@gmail.com with the pieces and the issues with them. I will see what can be done.
