Thats because Muay Thai is a better sport than MMA. As is boxing. Stand up fighting is better to watch.
@@LongSeax88 That is subjective. I like the speed and the engagements in muay thai, but there are problems with that. For example heavy weights couldn't fight like that and taking that kind of blows would 100% cause brain damage or serious a injury in anything above 85 kg's. As for boxing it simply just forbids a lot, and leaves most non casual fighting fans yearning for more.
Mma is a more pure form of fighting, and I really enjoy the wrestling. For example in Alexander Gustafson vs Daniel Cormier, the take downs were amazing, they were clearly making the fighters think twice before engaging.

For those that thinks Petchmorakot won, do watch it back at 0.25x speed, most of hands that Petchmorakot threw, were blocked by Tawanchai on the forearm.
It's just that if you just watch the fight without looking at Tawanchai's defence, you'd thought Petchmorakot landed those punches, but no.
The camera angle at the front and behind the fighter also helps to make it look like the hands werw landed, where the Judges will see side view and see the shots blocked on the forearms.

It was close, and Petch was starting to look stronger in the last 2 rounds, staying very sharp. But the first 3 Tawanchai was putting on a lot of pressure and looked more aggressive. Well earned win, but it was a very close match

I gave tawanichi the first 3 but the third was close but tawanichi definitely lost 4 and 5 . I noticed a pattern tawanichi tends fade fast in late rds close fight i can see why other people thought the other guy won because the visual of tawanichi losing 4 and 5 bad but they forget the early rds and alot the hits tawanichi was blocked abd wernt landing flush tawanichi was landing hard and clean so this came down to what do you like volume or the harder cleaner striking
I am contrary to you. I think Tawanchai did not gain a clear advantage in the first two rounds, but his famous left kick obviously had an effect and consumed Petchmorakot a lot of energy. From the third round, Petchmorakot began to try to use Clinch to get close. , and even by the fifth round, Petchmorakot's hand had dropped to his chest. He no longer had the strength to defend against the blow, so he started to use small jumps to stay agile and dodge, while Tawanchai was at the end of the fifth round. Just miss and little jump

But with the rounds system I think Towanchai clearly won round 1 & 2 and then guarded really well on three so he actually landed more hits so won that. And then Petchmorakot never knocked him down or out so towanchai wins

I don't know how to watch muay thai. This match can take a long time. And all those "little" kicks and jabs must be painful, and to continuously take these "little" attacks for an extended time could cause some injuries.

3:10 perhaps not even the legendary Samart was able to extend his body so much in the execution of his famous side kick... this T. guy has something really special and is among the best products of the new generation of fighters in Thailand having already demonstrated all his value .. but what I like most about him are his Olympic calm and his high confidence.. the only area where he could improve is on his cardio..
Thinking the same, those side kicks are beautifully executed and explosive as heck
more than anything else he manages to impart considerable power given the reactions of his opponents.. now I have seen very few fighters manage to obtain similar results therefore I think it is more a question of timing than power.. trying to exploit the opposite motion of the opponent which closes the distance.. I remember Saenchai and a few others who were really good at this particular "gesture"..@@youwantmyname9208
I want to know the secret of Tawanchai's push kick. Every single one is whip fast, looks like he puts little/nothing into it, and yet still sends the opponent halfway across the ring. And it's in EVERY fight, so it's not just something he does on guys with bad balance or who are very light on their feet.
So I’ve only been training for just over a year now, so I’m no expert. But I’ve been following Tawanchai for a little while now, love his fighting style and have tried to steal bits of his style and add it to my own, including his Teep!
His version of the Teep/Push kick has been dubbed a ‘Side Teep’. There’s actually few videos out explaining how he does it, but this is my breakdown. He throws it out in one motion most of the time, rather than chambering the kick with a knee up and then kicking/pushing out, like most Teeps are done (like Jonathan Haggerty does).
I’d even go as far as to say he has two versions of it, one where it comes out as a probe, no chamber, just a straight poke to the chest, stomach and occasionally the leg (a beautiful example of this was when he sat down Niclas Larsen during their fight; the fight resumes and he just floors him with little effort lol). I think the key to his version is that he turns his foot and hip at the last minute, so it’s harder for the opponent to catch (you’ll also find this increases the range of the kick, while generating more torque) (example at 1:00). The other version is where he slightly chambers it, with his knee coming up (slightly tilted to the side) and he pretty much blasts the opponent away. He does the chamber so fast here that you can hardly see it, but that little bend of the knee generates that extra push! Notice how he also adds a little hop in there too sometimes as he does the Teep (example at 4:31). All of this combined and he’s able to keep his opponent at kicking range, while also draining them of their stamina bar. It’s incredible 😄

Ok I'm new to watching Muay Thai but all the fights I've seen so far there is at least one fighter that readjusts their shorts like hundreds of times during the match so why not ATTACK THEM WHEN THEY DO THIS??

All these fighters constantly adjusting their shorts….like can’t they make it tighter or get a smaller size!? Every time they have to adjust it, they let their guard down. 1st round alone, guy in black shorts reached down to adjust his shorts at least 20 times!

Half the time we adjust the shorts subconsciously to show we’re game. Specifically when we roll up tighter on our lead leg.

Tawanchai fs won it no doubt it was competitive but tawanchai landed the harder and more significant strikes petch boxing and Thai clinch was only thing giving tawanchai problems competitive fight but definitely no robbery I would love to see a rematch but i worry for tawanchai if he ever faces chinigiz allazov for his kickboxing belt or if allazov goes for his because allazov got nasty hands and his power is down right scary
If notice Tawanchi adjusted his shorts after every kick. I would have used that moment to follow up with a combo. Tawanchi is smart so he might have trying to bait in the champ. What do you guys think?
