Hi Chris, its very helpful. Could you also tell a platform and Funds to spend the Pension fund. Can I transfer my existing Pension Fund from Stadard life to any other that you recommend?
Hey Chris, i want to do a Lisa but i am unsure if i am eligible. I am married, my husband bought a home, it is only in his name. Is that means i am not eligible for Lisa? Sorry for stupid question. Thank you for the video 🙏🏼
Thanks Chris, same thought about the LISA strategy is minimised the cost and assumed all investment choices out their was not that good in performance lol
Do you have a video on do you recommend filling up tour LISA first, then start on your Pension and Stocks and Shares ISA ? Or kinda just pay into them all at the same time throughout the year to what you can comfortably afford
Hi Chris, I've been watching your content and appreciate your thorough research and honest, evidence-based rankings. Will you be doing a 2024-2025 ranking for LISAs? I'm currently using AJ Bell, which I chose two years ago because it was similar to Hargreaves Lansdown. Would you still recommend AJ Bell, or are there new competitors with lower fees? Thanks :)
Hi Chris, great video here. I have my Lisa on HL and I hold VHVG. What do you think about this for the long term when it comes to the fees? I was thinking of transferring to AJ bell but I’m not sure as I have under 2k in this etf? Thanks for reading
Hi Chris, I have just helped my wife setup a LISA with Hargreaves Lansdown and we have chosen the HSBC FTSE All World Index fund. Is this still your recommendation as we head into the new tax year?
Hmm it’s a close one. But likely the way rates out now if you want something guaranteed. You could invest money seperately that had a longer time line? It could be a bit of a gamble but it’s up to you
Thanks for another nice video Chris. Do you know if I can I have both an ISA and a LISA with different providers within the same financial year? I have already deposited some moeny with trading 212 but would like to add my 4k LISA limit with AJ Bell as well after seeing your advice! Thanks a lot 🤗
Yes, you can have both an ISA and a LISA with different providers. However, can’t exceed £20k ISA limit per year and LISA counts towards the ISA limit.
Yep from their website: “Yes, you can transfer other (non-lifetime) ISAs to an HL Lifetime ISA and benefit from the 25% government bonus. Unfortunately, we can’t currently accept transfers from other Lifetime ISAs.”
A cash one 100% check out which is paying the best rates on MSE they change too much to make videos about honestly before I can make one they’ve changed 😂
Grear Video Chris ! I have a stocks and share ISA with invest engine. I want to keep my inveat engine S and S ISA ope . Is it possible to transfer 4K worth over to HL LISA for this tax year from my S and S ISA?
Hey Luke! Thanks 🙏 not that I’m aware of have you already maxed your ISA this year? If not just put money in to the LISA. You have to be careful not to put more than 16k in one tax year
Hi Chris, I need some help please, I have opened ISA stocks and shares with trading 212 few months earlier assuming that 25% bonus is paid into it but it isnt and is paid only in LISA as my prime objective is to buy my first house in UK, so i am looking to open LISA account but i want it to be flexible deposits and not direct debit, can you advise either LH or AJ bell or there are none offering this flexibilty and i have to go ahead with direct Debit. Thanks best regards, Mujaffar M
T212 don’t do Lifetime ISAs (the Lifetime ISA (LISA) is a £4k pot within your £20k ISA allowance). Unfortunately in 23/24 tax year you couldn’t use multiple platforms to spread out your ISA. However, in tax year 24/25 you can now use multiple platforms. So you can have £16k ISA allowance in one platform and your £4k LISA in another. Be wary of going over your limit as the implication if HMRC find out will be an entire yours worth of ISA investment will have its tax wrapper removed.
What would you recommend for someone who doesn't know much about Investing just wants to invest the 4g a year from 29-60 years old, set and forget kinda mentality. Thanks love the content. Saving all us working class goons 🙏

Thanks, turning 40 real soon, so quickly opened one and pretty much mirrored your setup. Great video
Thanks Chris, same thought about the LISA strategy is minimised the cost and assumed all investment choices out their was not that good in performance lol
I'm looking at transferring to dodl, moving away from AJB. No trading fees.
I wanted to go with HL, but they dont allow transfering existing LISAs 😢

Hi Chris, thanks for the video.
I did the same for my LISA. Just a quick question.
Why is you LISA choice HSBC and your ISA Vanguard?
No worries! Because it was cheaper on HL but now I’m prioritising Invesco fund now on there
@@chrispalmer24 Would that be FWRG? Thank you so much
Great vid Chris
Very informative video, thank you!

Can I put the money in 4K in a lump sum at the start of the tax year and that would only count as one transaction of £11.95?
Yes
It would be one trade if you are happy to wait the 5-10 weeks to receive your £1000 bonus before investing, otherwise it would be two trades
Wow , thank you Chris. What if i put 8k in a year are they going to pay 2k? X.25 percent?
Hi Chris, I have just helped my wife setup a LISA with Hargreaves Lansdown and we have chosen the HSBC FTSE All World Index fund. Is this still your recommendation as we head into the new tax year?
Hi Chris! I've swapped to the Invesco one on there now, just because of costs - but that's still a really good one too.
HSBC All World on Dodl, same ETF with lower fees.
@@chrispalmer24 what is the name of that Invesco fund?
@@chrispalmer24 invesco has a slight higher expense ratio of 0.15 vs 0.12 why do you say is cheaper?
@@chrispalmer24 still no answer to my question, do you read these comments? Thank you
If I were aiming to buy a house in 2030, would you say Cash LISA is better?
Hmm it’s a close one. But likely the way rates out now if you want something guaranteed. You could invest money seperately that had a longer time line? It could be a bit of a gamble but it’s up to you
Which fund would be best for HL LISA to avoid the £11.95 commission fee? Thanks in advance!
Is the hsbc world index fund you mentioned in this video the best “set and forget” option for lifetime isa?
Yep I think so! Mines been my best performing fund so far. I plan to keep adding more.

This is my exact situation as well
Yes you can. They are two completely different products z
Yes, you can have both an ISA and a LISA with different providers. However, can’t exceed £20k ISA limit per year and LISA counts towards the ISA limit.
You cannot transfer into HL at all, you're wrong here. ISA yes, LISA no.
Yep from their website:
“Yes, you can transfer other (non-lifetime) ISAs to an HL Lifetime ISA and benefit from the 25% government bonus.
Unfortunately, we can’t currently accept transfers from other Lifetime ISAs.”
Thanks for highlighting, I must have missed that.
If i am planning to buy a home after one year which lifetime ISA is best option...

I'm definitely not maxed out my S/S ISA ! Do you know if it's easy to transfer 4K of my S/S ISA with invest engine to a LISA (HL) ?
Hi, I have a stock and share isa account on trading 121, so am i allowed to open a lifetime isa on hl for this tax year? Please let me know 🙏
same
Hey Ivan, yep you can have one of each each :)
Dodl for me - global growth 😊

Whats best for over 40s
SIPP I would say, or ISA - I've just posted an ISA video, will have the SIPP one done shortly, working on it now.
would it be more cost effective to contribute to a work pension than a LISA?
I think it'd depend on how much your employer contributions, I'd likely suggest matching their contributions first
Would vanguard's target date fund be a good option in HL LISA (for retirement not house)?
i dont think vanguard one is a LISA, but a normal ISA

100% equities. Ideally pay in monthly and not annually. Go Moneybox (global/vanguard shares) 100%. Forget about it till 60
Hey, just so you're aware, you can only invest into a LISA up until age 50
What about Free-trade
HL for Life(Time ISA!) 😉
I see what you did there ;)
What alternative if you just turned 40 😢
