I will never forget the times I spent lots of weekends in Camiguin back in the 80s when I used to live in Malaybalay, Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City. Camiguin had and will always have that indescribable magical vibe, more so if the whole island is explored during sunsets and at dawn, including Mantigue Island just across.
@@EllisWR Try to visit Katibawasan Falls just before sunset or at dawn, when there are no other people around. Local folklore says that's the time the nature spirits frolic around. The place gets eerily quiet.
The first meal you had, that lady was so energized, seems like a really welcoming person. Probably haven’t seen many foreigners out there as well. But speaks in English quite well. Have a good trip in Philippines man. 👌
Adobong pusit (squid) for breakfast with 2 scoops of rice…wow! They also cook pusit with coconut milk some veggies like eggplant and string beans with ginger and garlic. I think it’s too hot that’s why locals don’t like to go on a hike 😂. The white one is puto that they steam. The toasted one is bibingka. Does it have young coconut inside? I prefer it with coconut in it 💚 Classic snacks are banana cue and turon 🩷
7 volcanoes in that 1 small island. Thankfully, all dormant now except 1. Hope you were able to go to White Island too which i think is the most popular attraction there. I think there aren't that many tourists coz it's the wet season. And btw, there are giant clams near that Sunken Cemetery.
I miss Camiguin Island. The island attracts mainly local tourist. You can go diving at the Sunken Cemetery. It’s not that scary as it sound, coz most of the tombstones are already covered with corals. Due to the concentration of volcanoes, there are many hot as well as cold springs. There is a popular fruit call Lazones fruit. Not sure if they are in season now. The fruit is celebrated during the Lazones festival in Oct for about a week.
Those soldiers were barely tanned like these Aussies😂; cc helped a lot to break down their accents😅 I thought they Celtic peoples 😂🎉 Ty love 💕 those squids🎉😊
One of the reasons why swimmers' guide is necessary is because there are many giant clams underneath that tourists should not touch but some tourist touch and poke them if no guide with them. The current is also strong underneath sometimes and the guide can help you in case of things go wrong.

Hi Ellis, Love watching your video so it me want to go visiting Camiguin Island this year. But is it worth travelling there for 2 weeks during the wet season in August ? Thanks a lot 🫶
We visited at the end of June. Now I can't personally say for August but we always travel to places whenever, rainy seasons usually just consist of some showers here and there and never really ruin your time unless your extreeeeeeeemely unlucky. The rain always makes for clear air and cools it down.
2 portions of rice? You have become Filipino, don't hesitate to ask for condiments like soy sauce (toyo), calamansi, chilli (sili). Baryo ( from spanish barrio) means village or in Tagalog -barangay
Have you been to Camiguin island before? 🇵🇭

Camiguin is a beautiful island. I’ve been there a long time ago, and alot of foreigners lived there.
It's beautiful isn't it

I love the two rice aha. There was no coconut inside sadly but that sounds well good

Don't forget to try eat Fruit it's called "Lanzones " in Camiguin
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome 👏
Thanks so much
13:24 some people are quite stingy or frugal reason why they just have a picture taken and not venture up 😅
Ahaha it was like 20 pesos entry!
This is the place where I see myself settling after my retirement.
Enjoy

Yeah we missed the festival! Island is so nice though
I am living in Mainit Catarman camiguin. When you pass again you can stay with us 👍
Thanks my friend 🙏
Been to camiguin and it was a beautiful place but unfortunately it rained solid for 7 days and I couldn't leave the island
Ahah sounds so unlucky. We really liked it

@@EllisWR Thanks a lot for your answer !
Maybe try ask some locals on the island or hotels etc?
Did you fly there from Bicol?
Yes flew to Cebu then to Camiguin.
Hillo How are you going? from your FC in Thailand
Hey how are you! We are back in Thailand and soon have lots of great videos coming from the provinces!
I've heard there are hidden hot springs spots in the island that only the locals know.
Yeah there's a few! We were going to visit one a local told us about but we were too lazy to go
Only 35 thousand... lol, now at 40
Ahah I filmed this like a month ago and have had a little time to relax!
Explore Leyte, Biliran and Samar
Maybe
There are more volcanoes than towns in that island.. 7:5
Crazy stuff
❤️🇵🇭
Have you been to Camiguin?
"Are they poisonous?" I think is not a good right question since the fish are being sold basically to be cooked and eaten.
Eh? There are plenty of fish that are poisonous, AND sold to eat if prepared properly. Perfectly normal question
*You guys haven't been to The Philippines if you won't be going to Boracay, El Nido, Siargao which Philippines is known for*
Not for me. Boring overpriced, overcrowded tourist trap rip off no thanks. We visited dinagat islands and was 100x nicer.
@@EllisWR valid. I do agree that there are many islands there that are not known but so much better than "touristy" spots

Yeah 2 rice everywhere sometimes 3!
As a filipino, i have noticed British eat rice, Americans don't lol
Americans don't eat anything ahah
enjoy your stay here man, but if you planning to visit mindanao dont go to deep in south, terrorist lurking there, peace man!
