It was a good movie; sometimes its important to know that it was made and marketed to the mass public and not to historians and history enthusiasts who were going to pay to watch it anyways. Unfortunately battle scenes to the average viewer is incredibly boring and often confusing to the context of the history, especially to people who have little insight of the era at all; a lot of film makers will leave much hard history out and leave much to the imagination for viewers; Waterloo from the 70s is good example of a massive box office failure. All the people I watched the film with who didn't know much about the history royally enjoyed the experience, and for me personally despite historical inconsistences, It was enjoyable watching a modern take of Napoleon with great cinematography and decent allusions to the general history. I thought the Director's cut did much more justice in regards to the context and made the film feel less rushed.
@@militarian9759 i agree, even though the historical inaccuracies were hard to get over when i looked into it, it's still by most standards a good movie with great action sequences
The First Consul's March (1802)... Was this deliberate foreshadowing, or the director just thought it was awesome mood music for a triumphal entry into Milano 🇮🇹🇲🇫🇲🇨? 🦁☀️🐝⚡🦅⚡🐝☀️🦁
I think it's a original music composition for the movie but very much in the style of a 18th century stiyle "te deum". google basically any 18th century composer's name with "te deum" and you get music like this *edit* after some searching arround jakob frančišek zupan's te deum seems to be the closest to this movie soundtrack maybe if you streach it also the te deum's of salierri and Gossec
"Conquest of Italy" Occupation of areas of Northern Italy, in 1796 the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the Papal State and the Kingdom of Naples were still independent.
I got excited, I thought the director’s cut would include the italian campaign but no still went with the whole “surrendered without conflict” bs

I thought for a minute that Napoleon was about to break out some sick dance moves

@@BaDitO2 I found it: La Marche du Premier Consul (Tino Rossi)
❤
This movie is one of the worse I've ever watched in my entire life.
"Conquest of Italy" Occupation of areas of Northern Italy, in 1796 the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, the Papal State and the Kingdom of Naples were still independent.
cos Northern Italy is where the real stakes are at. Austria dominates that area for a reason
Austrian Italy
@@BlaidWhiteYo Only the Duchy of Milan was part of Austria. The Republic of Venice and the Kingdom of Sardinia were independent.
