It was just a rumour. Why would you come to a country where there are only as many people in New York state spread all over a huge land mass? Why would you come to a country full of rules, laws and red tape beyond where you are.
Then on top of that if they ever showed up it would be Verizon Canada which won't have any financial relationship to the USA company other than branding.
If they do come, we give discounts and reserve spectrum for them because they are a "new" company. Then they fail and go bankrupt leaving us holding the debt and empty promises. Look how much Target left us on the hook for that we all paid for when they left.

Its fashionable to pile on the telcos, but this one confuses me and makes me wonder if an honest look was taken at current plan pricing before going to press with this story. Big changes in plans have been happening right in front of us over these last couple months. You dont have to look very hard to find plans for $34 for 30GB for 2 years right now, some down to $29. The $5.37 per GB number in the story for Canada is yesterday's news when there are plans everywhere giving anywhere from 50 to 100GB for $50-60 and thats without getting into the fact that most plans are unlimited now, just throttling speeds after those GB maxes. As far as the increase for off-contract, are people not shopping around when their plan comes up and just keep paying the bill and whatever charges show up on it? Are the big monthly numbers racking up by including financing on $1800 phones when if looking to have an economical phone you can get a good used one for 300-400? I just don't get it.
