I love conversion stories...and this reversion story! Such an important lesson on avoiding occasions of sin! :)
I had a similar situation with falling away after my parent’s divorce. I made attempts at coming back to the faith, but was super lukewarm...it took over 10 years to really embrace my faith again! So thankful for God’s Grace and Our Lady’s assistance in dragging me out of a sinful lifestyle.

I started going to Mount St. Michael's in the early 80s and fell away. I got involved in Wicca and I even joined a coven. I got out of the whole Wicca things several months later and I still have a great remorse for getting into it. After being away from the traditional Catholic religion for a about 38 years Brother Joseph at Mount St. Michael's told me about the Rosary Confernce Call that 2 parishioners started, I started calling into that every night, and for almost 9 years I've been back at the Mount. I love the traditional Roman Catholic religion and I realize what a gift it is that I have it.

Thank you Holly for your story. It gives me hope for my daughter who has left the faith. The first bad sign was when she was about 17 she began not wanting to pray with me. Then she took off her scapular. Now she denies every truth. It happened so fast. If only young people would know that they must keep praying every day, even when they dread it. Saying grace at meals won’t be enough to keep you from falling away.

Knowing many parents of fallen-away children we have discussed this topic.
Teens and young adults start missing a Mass here and there. Eventually they stop going at all. They stop praying and they take their scapular off. The secular companions can be strong tools for loss of faith.
Our Mother Mary is our life, our sweetness and our hope. Her Rosary can resolve all things as Sr Lucia has said. Our Mother wants our salvation and our loved ones much more than we do.
    Deo gratias!
Holly, you have given many parents hope. God bless you!

Holly, thank you for making this. Please remember my daughter in your prayers.
Prayer to Our Lady of Siluva for the Return of Fallen of Fallen-Away Catholics
Remember dear Mother Mary, merciful Refuge of Sinners, most loving and ever vigilant Guardian of the Faith of your children on earth, how you once appeared in the fields of Siluva to rekindle the dying embers of Faith in the hearts of the people by revealing to them the anguish of thy maternal heart over their long forgetfulness of their ancestral Catholic heritage. Look down, O dearest Mother Mary, in pity upon (mention name(s) and intercede with thy Divine Son for him/her, for he has wandered from the fold of the True Faith. Too long now has he neglected his duties to God and to his own immortal soul. All our efforts, pleadings and prayers for his return have been in vain. O dearest Mother, if you will not take pity on him and come to his assistance, his soul may be eternally lost.
Miraculous Virgin of Siluva, let but one of thy sorrowing mother's tears fall upon this grace-starved soul and nourish it back to spiritual life. Rekindle the weak spark of Faith in this heart into a brightly-burning flame of renewed love and allegiance to thy Divine Son.
O merciful Mother, who brought back the people of Siluva to the True Faith, be moved by these prayers, and bring (name) to a true conversion of heart, that he may return to his Father's house and again partake of the Bread of Life, for God's greater honor and glory, and his own eternal salvation. Miraculous Virgin of Siluva, pray for us and our wandering loved ones. Amen.

Thank you for sharing such a personal story, Holly! This episode made me feel emotional thinking about my sinful past. It’s so encouraging knowing other Catholics go through the same struggles. When you only hear about the people who live the most saintly lives it can almost lead you to despair and feel like you’re never going to be good enough. We are so blessed to have such a merciful God though and should never despair! Prayer and sacrifice really is the best thing ever. I’m sure without my mom’s prayers I’d be very lost. Getting in the habit of praying the daily rosary with my husband has helped tremendously as well to fight off temptation and grow a deeper love for the Faith. Thank you again and thank you Kevin for great content. God bless! :)

The faithful recitation of the Holy Rosary is such an important defense against the enemy. It has been said that in homes devoted to the Holy Rosary the devil leaves as he knows he is wasting his time. Something to be so grateful for.

Deo gratias! Thanks be to God for your return to the Catholic Faith, Holly!
Today's state of affairs is truly saddening. I graduated from [private, secular] high school nearly a year ago from today, and over the years it's been disheartening to see things decaying more and more. Living in Puerto Rico, there was at least some degree of religion/morality engrained in the culture (though even this is quickly fading), and as far as secular schools go, I think mine was great. However, it is beyond a shred of doubt that things worsened as the older, more traditional teachers started retiring and younger teachers were brought in, these almost guaranteed to be incredibly feminist and liberal. Couple this with the constant development of social media and the like, and the decay of morals was exponential.
To this day there are 2 negative things that still stand out to me about my experience in high school:
    1. The ever-developing culture among students (at least male) that effectively worships impurity and immorality was significant and grew to become more and more suffocating over the years (perhaps augmented by my becoming more Catholic as well). There was once even a public scandal of fornication among the SEVENTH graders (when I was in 11th)! I still am incredulous on this point.
    2. Another huge internal conflict for me, that I think is definitely something worth touching upon regarding modern education was the fact that my English class' curriculum included reading books that were on the Index of Forbidden Books. Luckily things got messed up with Covid, etc. and I only ended up having to read one book (A Paradise Lost), where I was able to intentionally distract myself in class, rather than read it.
The worst part is that Vatican II sect "religious" schools generally (in my experience) yield far more horrendous results than secular schools. Not only are the morals, in my experience, incredibly worse, the doctrinal damage is immense. I have family members that went to these and left believing that Hell (and perhaps even Heaven) doesn't exist, and that one doesn't have to care or think about Heaven, and instead should try to make "a Heaven on Earth", the ultimate form of materialism!
May the graces of God continue to work in and bring back more of those who have fallen into the snares of the world and suffer a death of the soul and senses.

I was just waiting for the parents problem and she said it; The father wasn’t Catholic. That’s all!
When the father is weak, little will succeed. St. Monica was an exception but the norm is that without the Father things will fail. The Father is the principle. Even the channel of grace comes through the Father and without him living the faith, demons can easily slip into the family and that family is doomed if God doesn’t come in to do something out of the ordinary. So God did something extraordinary that’s why you are here today Holly. God bless you.
Thank you Holly for confirming this for me once again. Thank you for being humble to be vulnerable.

Hi,@@stillraven9415 . Just to be clear, it's a very serious sin for a Catholic to worship anyone/anything other than God. There's a lot about Catholicism that is misunderstood, and this is one of them. We don't worship anyone other than God.
