Been playing for 2 days and first go i got the bug in the trading post that prevented further play, on 2nd now but didn't realise the importance of the bandits so have messed up there, as well as expanding far too early, but think i can push through and win the map now with your tips. I've never seen a rich berry deposit deplete out of season. I've re-rolled for the rich berry for that reason, and to start mass producing dyes faster. Love the video though, some great work compiling all this information o7
I got here through the algorithm while searching for this exact type of tutorial. So there’s a feedback. I really appreciate the video, but I think you should go all te way and beat the baron… any chance this happens?
I don't have the game installed anymore but you can beat 'em with cheese strats like kiting his army around to capture territories or just hire all the mercs and go all archers behind them then just walk into his army.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but you said a couple of times not to upgrade to level 2 burgage plots due to tax issues. I thought upgrading to level 2 improved your regional wealth.
Kings tax on test patch hits after you get your 2nd talent point thingy and it drains you the rest of the game, so for me I prefer to have a maxed econ before even getting taxed at all.
Good tips. Might try it for challenging while praying for planks. 😅 My bane the last few goes is the saw pit. Doesn't matter how close the logging camp, if I assign an ox or not 1 or 2 people ect. Doesn't matter if save/reload close ap and restart or roll back a save, pull worker/s on and off... production has been crap. Last run 5 planks in 8 months of game time... needless to say that run was toast as it was a go at challenging. I really want that fixed! I'm not on the beta so. There's hope!
@@Obsidianoak If you assign oxen to the sawmill & turn off the logging camp then all logs redirect to your sawmill. Even if you put up a construction limit. Make sure you have a stockpile of logs first. (10-20).
@@SwoleBenji woah not used to be responded to. Since I have you, When do vegetables come in? I never see them in my inventory, and how did your tannery make leather without hides?
I don't remember how long it takes for vegetables to spawn in but after 1 year with two families not assigned other work tasks you can get about 300+ veggies per plot per year about. If they're never coming in then the family that lives there is probably busy doing other work tasks which can't really be helped unless you manually assign them to be grave diggers or a hunter lodge that's disabled but that's a little too micromanagey for me.
I disagree about rich hunting areas, I've found them be pretty S tier too. However, what is the benefit of 2 logging camps over 1 with 2 families? Everything else I've been doing the same way as you, so good to know I've got it down
When you do a long-term test to see which grants more timber the 1 family per building wins out against almost everything except mining camps and a few other buildings. Also if you're playing on the newer test patch food is consumed randomly and even a double hunting spot can't keep up with consumption so you won't get much food variety in the mid-game.
I just move the one furthest away. These are very small things that won't set you back all that much at all. When you move a lumber camp it dumps the timber on the ground and as you build your town the oxes will grab timber from that pile rather than at the tree line. Just makes things easier. Of course the oxes will grab from a lumber camp as well but sometimes they opt to grab from the tree line instead for some reason.
@@SwoleBenji yeah i was still doing okay up until i guess i missed the message for the barons army going for those camps and he beat me to them. I swear i got no notification in february or any other month, he got to the camps in like april.
It may not look large to us but too big of a field is "days" worth of walking to the villager, so having them able to insta-house the goods saves a huge amount of time and massively increases your vegetable yield.

You can get by just fine without min-maxing the vegetable gardens. It's just more efficient.

Why is being able to grow vegetables inside the house important? Couldn't you just make the field bigger outside the house?

Clay isnt that bad, you can make a shitpile of money with rooftiles.
Rooftiles are required for tier 3 burgage plots so if you want to have a "min-maxed" city it's a required resource.

This game kind of reminds me of a Game of Thrones RTS Genesis, totally unbalanced that I only played 7 hours on Steam
