Yeah, same here with that exact sentiment. This episode is the complete opposite of what this show is supposed to be but it does demonstrate how far the Americans will go to make money in the most absurd way possible if they were given the chance. What I love about this one, though is that we get to see Huey reverting back in his old ways of the first episodes of the series where he isn’t afraid to tell everyone what is on his mind and what he means to say to the people who are either too ignorant or too stupid to realize the situation. Him being defiant as ever reminds of me of a movie where a fictional character is named “Spirit Who Cannot Be Broken”. For those of you who know what I mean, raise your hand, rise up and remind Allona here to watch it. Bless you.
When this episode came out I honestly was a bit shocked I always loved how the boondocks was pretty much unafraid to do anything even something like this
16:22 you absolutely nailed it. Once Aaron left the show, this season just failed at every point it tried to make, with this episode being the worst example.
This episode should have been the series finale. In fact, they should have built up Freedomland like how the Sonic series built up to Eggmanland in Sonic Unleashed. If Freedomland was the finale, at least this series could have gone out with somewhat of a bang.
I remember those deals like that they use to have those when apps where new too its last time I was eating take out when it was like milkshapes for a dollar, and 3 buck ultimate cheeseburgers with same amount of calories as personal pizza lol
and this is the episode that did it. this is my most disliked episode in the entire show. the beginning about cheap food made sense, but then they made them actual slaves. what i liked about this show was that even though the freeman family sometimes fell victim to their own issues and ignorance, at least they were a black family that made it out the hood and and from its dangers. at least they had money and didn't have to take orders from anyone. they're names are literally "free man" and they turned them into this. this episode would have made sense if it was tom or ruckus becoming slaves, but this was messed up. i really didn't like how they treated these characters. seeing what happened to huey was really disappointing. some of the jokes were funny though. ruckus' new names were huey and riley made me laugh. but i feel like i'm laughing while on a sinking ship.
Allona, I just wanted to check in with you, but I'm done with boondocks and the subliminal messages it's sending down grading our culture and periods of our history. What kind of messages are they sending to the kids that haven't learned history to tell the difference between satire and our real struggles. You're not wrong about this season. I thought almost every episode focused too much on Grandad. Last 2 episodes will be best thing from this season.
