      The guilt lies mainly with the people. They want miracles, they want something to be given to them, regardless of if they deserve it or not. Not work, miracles. Thats basically Africa. These pastors are just praying on the greed of the people, and their laziness. They are like a fire to gas.
      Christ did not emphasize miracles, he emphasized good behaviour. Africans emphasize miracles. Why? Because they want to bypass good behaviour.

    I remember that kibwetere incident in kanungu. I was around 6yrs and everyone kept talking about it. Some of my classmates had relatives whose whole families perished. At that time all churches and believers were given an eye opener to reality. You could feel the tension of the believers questioning if their own pastors were fake too. Sadly 22 or so years from then, all is as it was. The new generation is fooled once again. We have preachers selling "holy food" at x3 the price of ordinary food. It really makes you question how blind a believer can be

      History usually repeats itself as next generation come in. There will be selfish people, who would do anything to gain what they desire, fame, fortune, power, lust, etc. Usual victims are those who are desperately in need of help, mentally, physically or spiritually. It's getting harder and harder to differentiate what's real and what's fake.

      That's because they're not educated. They go to church to listen to the preacher's explanation. Never questioning them instead of reading it for themselves. If they do they'd call him on his bs. Hill church had a similar problem and that's why there's a scandal. People pur their preachers on a pedestal when the bible said we should hold them accountable.

      It was like this in Europe as well.Until the reformation that was started by Martin Luther! Christianity is good but one must be carefull as many have used it for control and self gratification.!The problem is christians don't read the bible but just believe all the preachers. Jesus did say he has called us to be priests...Meaning spiritual independence!! Not just listening to all sorts of nonsense from anyone!

Pray to Christ for forgiveness of our sins as we have all broken the Moral Law (10 commandments etc.), repent from them which means to make an effort to stop doing those sins and Christ will be your Saviour. • @XtoCee
      @XtoCee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I’m an atheist, and used to think like that. However, overall, religion unites a people and creates a community which aggregates their resources together, and assists each other.
      Atheism is basically individualism. Atheists as a collective aren’t united together as Muslims or Christians are. They don’t have one sole doctrine like Christianity nor Islam. Every atheist person has their own views on life. Atheism merely means an individual who does not believe in a God.
      Therefore, in environments and regions like Sub-Saharan Africa, where religious extremism is common - it would be against your interest to be an atheist. Since you wouldn’t be protected and assisted by a community to defend you.
      As a result to due the individualism nature with atheism, a lot of atheists become depressed. They don’t have a community structure or place where they can network and congregate similar to a Church, Mosque, Synagogue.
      This was basically the whole point of religions in the first place, to offer networking and assistance - whether monetary or physical protection.
      I believe Black people globally need their own written and organised religion similar to Christianity or Islam, but is not dictated by an omnipotent being but with logic, free-thinking, productivity and veneration of the ancestors.

    • @robertmukiibi5598
      @robertmukiibi5598 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @@XtoCee Atheism is not individualism but rather independence of your brain to imagine the universe with no limits....humanity and naturalistic way of looking at life doesnt unite people to believe a certain god up there but rather unites people to have a common thinking of humans about the natural world and the continuity of life beyong humans...religions (especially christianity and Islam) puts humans above everything as they assume to be in the image of a certain god (per christians) and sacred creature per islam. I was a christian and a strong one so I know what religion teaches at most of the Judeo-christian religions...I have lived in largely religious countries/ societies and currently I live in societies that are largely religion free, people in irreligious societies are accomodating, no stigma or segegation and you can feel the respect of human and other forms of life even on the streets....Atheism is not a set of beliefs but rather a self realization that for ages you have been scummed....the biggest donors and helpers in struggling countries are hugely ireligious, empathy is not a value you get from religion.

    • @XtoCee
      @XtoCee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@robertmukiibi5598 No, they don’t. I’m a Black atheist and you’re trying to insinuate I have something in common with a Chinese person who is of a different culture, speaks a different language, and a different race - I have something in common with them?
      Religion does indeed unite people into one shared identity, in which the people are bounded by the commandments of the religion. This is why Europe was able to defend itself against Islamic invasion, since the continent had united under Christianity.
      Before Europe was Christian, there were many different cultures and religions. Most of the people were pagans. Other pagans such as the Vikings sold Slavic women who were pagans to Arab-Muslims. The Vikings could not sell Christian-Europeans since the Catholic Church banned enslaving other Europeans. As a result, there is an incentive to be a Christian, since you are a part of group that will protect you.

    • @XtoCee
      @XtoCee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertmukiibi5598 Moreover, I live in Europe right now, which you can classify as “irreligious”. Right now, Europe doesn’t know how to respond to the growing Islamic population in Europe - especially since many European countries are not united under a shared ideology anymore. If it continues, Islam will dominate countries such as France.
      Plus, it is untrue that people that are irreligious are accommodating. People will always find something that differentiates themselves from other people, whether it being: race, religion, language, etc.
      In China, racism is rampant against foreigners, especially Black people in their country.
      What Europe is trying to do right now is united based on race and establish a sort of Pan-European civilisation in the form of the EU. However, even then, race is not a powerful form of establishing a self-identity in contrast to religion. Religions have tenets, rituals, language, etc., which is far more better suited to unite a demographic.

It is a "place" were you grow in knowledge of the word of God and pray with others. There are good churches and there are bad churches; you can simply change as lead by the spirit of God. Cultism is so complex especially because It targets the vulnerable.
    When things go badly they look to some messiah to save them. If by chance they think they’ve found one, it will not be long before another cult emerges out of the same group.

    I wish this gets to be televised in Uganda. I hope one or two ugandan tv stations has the balls to televise this documentary but it's not very likely because the cultists especially pastors will say you are fighting religion or faith in Uganda. And they have state influence to threaten or affect the media channel that shows this kind of content on television. Factually is more than 3/4 of local tv stations in Uganda are owned by pastors. Almost all well known names of pastor's in Ugandan capital city Kampala has their own tv station and of course radio stations as well. They all preach the gospel of prosperity and have their donation to their church accounts hanging on Tv as a logo at the bottom of the screen.
    Mr presenter here is the problem or the crux of the matter. .....Just like the Black axe cult of Nigeria that you made a film about. These Ugandan cults and pastors are used for political mobilisation by the president's political party. It is difficult to root them out because they are tools of political propaganda and mobilisation. There is infact one religious cult in called NRM which is the name of the ruling political party. This cult called NRM is in KAMWENGE district of western Uganda in the same region as the so called God cult that you visited in KAGADI district. Having that NRM religious cult in this film would have helped unmask why these cults do exist and thrive in Uganda. One main thing cults and pastors do in Uganda is align themselves with the President of Uganda. It's why you see them having state protection and the President himself commisionng their activities as the chief guest. They are grounds of political capital by the regime. Where their authoritative leaders order and use threats of propaganda to spread political messages of the ruling political party of the president to their followers.
    So the ugandan state has not only failed to protect it's citizens from cults but also helped to entrench cultism into society

      Catholic is the biggest cult and lie. Jesus Christ is the only one who can forgive sins. He is the only High Priest in the New Testament church. He does not need help from Catholic priest to forgive his pple. Mary never gave birth to Jesus Christ. She gave birth to Jesus. Jesus Christ was begotten on the cross. Thats when he became the Son of God by the power of resurrection. People are deceived because they are either ignorant of what is in the bible or they do not have the Holy Spirit to interpret scriptures for the. There is no private interpretation in the gospel of Christ. There are no many doctrines. There is only one doctrine that is the doctrine of Christ. There are no spiritual fathers in the doctrine of Christ. There is only one Spiritual Father who is God Mathetw 23 vs 9. I feel sorry for the millions of my brothers and sisters in Africa woodwinked by charlatans masquerading as pastors.

    As human beings, we're built with an inner inclination to believe in a higher power, But the problem comes in when people choose to follow blindly without question. Alot of the time it's because of desperation and people wanting instant answers and solutions to life's issues. It's just easier to follow blindly than to try to dig deep. This desperation is what cult leaders exploit.
    Ultimately faith has more to do with the inner workings of a person's heart than anything else. And that is what people blindly following other people fail to understand.

As an agnostic/atheist (in Uganda),I've tried teaching people on the falseness and detrimental effects of mindlessly following these charismatic leaders and religion/god in general,but in vain.There are many mini churches sprouting in Kampala that require their followers to give huge sums of many so as to later "harvest" their reward.A prime example would be "prophet" Elvis Mboye who requires his followers to lick his shoe as a form of worship. I'm kindly requesting for a 2nd part on this, thanks.

      I don't think you need to be an atheist or anything in particular to see these hucksters and scam artists for what they are. It's worth noting however that from the sounds of it many of these groups aren't Christians at all (don't believe in Christ, don't read the bible, the cult leader is a God or some kind of supernatural being etc etc. These charlatans wear the skin of Christianity, but many of them don't even preach just a distorted version of it, but a different religion altogether.
