I'm 21, I'm playing Banjoo Tooie again on the Proyect 64 emulator and Grunty's Industry is still confusing and Weldar is still a bitch to beat, hardest boss in the game next to Hag 1
Played Grunty Industries today for the first time. I do have to say, It was really frustrating at first, but thats because I did not know how to get inside. The rest was not bad, just a bit tedious going back and forth for most puzzle pieces.
The real charm of soundtracks like this is that they're actually catchy and have a distinguishable melody. That makes them much better than most game soundtracks nowadays. I'm not saying they're bad, they just all sound the same. And with that said, I must say that this particular piece is definitely amongst my top-10 Boss Themes. Poor, poor Weldar. He has cried oily tears before the night had ended.
+Garchomp King Gaafhadrim I only recently found out that you can fight fak fak as the submarine, I always did him as banjo and due to the aiming controls that is hard as fuck, definitely the hardest boss in the game that way imo. but he might be easier as submarine
This was some hardcore halabloo. The suction attack that makes Weldar vulnerable has zero telegraph and always follows a previous attack. It'll catch you if you're too close, or pull you into the electric tripwires; reflexes and skill are mandatory.
It only doesn't have a telegraph for hits 1 and 4. He does the suction as soon as you defeat the enemies in hits 2 and 5, and after he lands back in the center in hits 3 and 6.
Same here. After 5 years of beating this game, I found Banjo Tooie in my closet and popped it into the N64, fought Weldar and said to myself "Blowtorch," ad opposed to "Vacuum cleaner" which I used to think XD
Y'know, I think Kirkhope's music made using N64 instruments is the only "old" video game music that cannot at all be improved by "real" instruments. It's already at perfection.
I think it's clever how they sped up the world song(Grunty Industries) for this boss fight. It shows a tight connection between the world and the boss of it. Love it :)
xD rapist shark think this is scary? have you PLAYED donkey kong 64??? the donkey kong 64 equivalent of this boss is the shit. his name is mad jack, and his boss music is as amazing as this boss music.
I beat Banjo-Tooie when i was 8-ish, and a few years later i started playing it again and found him. It made me feel stupid since i already had at least 20 hours of playtime on that game, and Grunty's Industries was my favorite world. :|
I love Banjo Tooie also! I have posted some music on my channel from the Banjo series, but I know a lot more then I posted. Today, I started learning this song on piano and so far I've only got the bit from 0:03 to 0:10 but it's really hard! God I love this series though. I really wish that there were more amazing 3D platformers like this. Too bad rareware was bought by microsoft.
This is the only boss in Banjo-Kazooie that's actually like... out of your way, there's no linear way to get to him (or he's not somewhere you'd think of), which is probably why some people haven't even fought him. He's also one of the most fun to fight.
@RedSamuriPowerRanger I used to think Weldar was near impossible to beat. He was SO hard! But then I found out that if u stand in the corner, he can't suck you in. He was then easy to from there on. :D
After polishing off this guy's health, I spontaneously shouted, "TAKE THAT, FIENDISH TOOL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING!" Afterwards I had me a good giggle for whatever reason.
You have to use mumbo to disable the electromagnet on Floor 2 then turn into the washing machine to press the switch. This opens the door to Weldar in the basement.
Yeah, I played through Banjo-Tooie when I was young and beat it. Then, like, 10 years later I picked the game up and found him and Lord Woo Fak Fak. I wish I never found either.
This would be my favorite Banjo Tooie boss theme in epic terms. Mr. Patch wins for a mindfuck theme. I think it's because of Screw attacks montage in the top 10 cartoon games. Klungo wins for sad boss themes because it just makes me think of how he's such a dedicated and determined minion who is so abused by Grunty. Deep down, he never really did anything evil except working the machine for the first game's gameover scene and blocking your path. he's so loyal, he retreats for the beatings.
Well I all liked them. All the worlds had have something special. in my opinion Grunty Industries is the best world, because I just love modern levels in old school graphics!
Fire Eggs, yes. CWK Eggs, I'm not sure. I don't use them unless I have to, like against the Rocknuts and Grunty. But it's worth giving a shot just to see if it does work.
Weldar: Ahem. I believe it states quite clearly in the worker's guidelines that bears are not to be let into the building. Kazooie: So? Weldar: Well, your a bear, aren't you? Banjo: Er, no. Weldar: Doh! I must remember to wear my glasses. Well, I'm out now, so I might as well go to work on you! *Fights* Sometimes weldar says "Wee hee!" you know. He sounds weird like that. Man, he was a bit hard.
Weldar: "Ahen I think the rules cleary state no bears allowed in the factory Banjo:"Um, i'm not a bear Weldar: D'oh, I must remember to wear my glasses. Well i'm out now so I think i'll go to work on you Weldar:" Please refrain from doing that i'm full of flammable gas"
@RaxusCarnelli Well, I imagine Mario could use the Fire Flower. Really, these boss battles could be restyled for Super Mario Galaxy. That would be neat.
1:18 through 1:44 is the best part. I don't know why, but I think this music should've been in Conker's Bad Fur Day. Maybe I think so because it goes wll with Conker's running animation. I'm not so sure.
@DubstepGod I thought that there was no boss in grunty industries until I saw a list of the bosses. I just gave up looking for Weldar since its hard to get to him.. o.o
Man! People know what they are actually talking about in these comments now! finally people can agree on something! Banjo Tooie was fuckin awesome and the music was fuckin awesome, and that they need to fix those new "games" out there now.
@Ghostlyghostgamer in your childhood, you were scared of weldar? well, i dont blame you he can really pwn you sometimes... i got kinda scared too, but also mingy jongo kinda creeped me out especially his cutscene where banjo got zapped by him,
Its a theory. It goes like this. Weldar's speech pattern is composed entirely of hissing sounds. Weldar fights cheap and makes things unnecessarily complicated when defeated. => Weldar is female.
NINTENDO 64 HAD AND STILL HAS THE BEST MUSICAL THEMES! NINTENDO, I SALUTE YOU!
And Rare...
This was Grant Kirkhope specifically
I love how all the boss themes are remixes of the stage's theme!
Just like Dk 64
This was the only Boss fight i ever missed in the game.
Grunty Industries was very confusing for me as 10 year old
That level will never not be confusing.
I'm 21, I'm playing Banjoo Tooie again on the Proyect 64 emulator and Grunty's Industry is still confusing and Weldar is still a bitch to beat, hardest boss in the game next to Hag 1
VeigarIII trying to figure out those magnets as a 9 year old kid was friggen impossible
Guess I wasn't the only one.
Played Grunty Industries today for the first time. I do have to say, It was really frustrating at first, but thats because I did not know how to get inside. The rest was not bad, just a bit tedious going back and forth for most puzzle pieces.
Anyone else think he was a fire-breathing vacuum cleaner?
No, i thought he was a fire breathing snake in a bucket.
Musicaltalent273 XD
I thought he was a roto-rooter like Kazooie said
Weldar dislikes the video by mistake he must've lost his glasses again.
Weldar: "Here, have some nuts and bolts!"
Me: "Oh god no"
+Evan Poirier holy shit he called it
weldar fucking KNEW.
+twotailedavenger Weldar I always thought knew more than he put on...
I'd always replay Weldar so I could listen this music again and again
The real charm of soundtracks like this is that they're actually catchy and have a distinguishable melody. That makes them much better than most game soundtracks nowadays. I'm not saying they're bad, they just all sound the same.
And with that said, I must say that this particular piece is definitely amongst my top-10 Boss Themes. Poor, poor Weldar. He has cried oily tears before the night had ended.
What other game allows yo to play as a bear and bird and fight a zombified witch with a fucking tank? I love this game :3
by FAR the hardest boss in the game in my opinion, to this day he remains the only one who I consider a challenge, aside from hag1 perhaps
+SunnyChunn I always found Lord Woo Fak Fak to be really difficult, but not as difficult as Weldar though!
+Garchomp King Gaafhadrim I only recently found out that you can fight fak fak as the submarine, I always did him as banjo and due to the aiming controls that is hard as fuck, definitely the hardest boss in the game that way imo. but he might be easier as submarine
DarkAnimaYT I have not fought him like that before. I'll probably try that out.
Garchomp King Gaafhadrim
you never fought him as a sub or as banjo?
I've only fought him as banjo. I have yet to try the sub
"How about a few Nuts & Bolts?" Weldar didn't know what he had done...
Same here. After 5 years of beating this game, I found Banjo Tooie in my closet and popped it into the N64, fought Weldar and said to myself "Blowtorch," ad opposed to "Vacuum cleaner" which I used to think XD
I could listen to this music all day.
Just sit back...Relax...Watch my brothers tear each others heads apart...So relaxing...........
ah yes brothers tearing each others heads apart, i can relate
i always thought he was supposed to be a vaccum cleaner when i was little
+Minene Uryuu922 That makes two of us
same
same here xD
This guy scared the shit out of me when I played this game, more so than Mad Monster Mansion in Banjo-Kazooie >:
THE TEETH MAN. LOOK AT HIS TEETH! >.
When I was little I never got why he said he "Forgot his glasses" I realized what he meant now...
what does he mean?
Its so epic music... o_o ARGGHHH!!!!!!! *Goes into Banjo Tooie* * Plays replay mode on weldar* .....DID I JUST DO THAT 0_o
For the longest time, I thought Grunty Industries had no boss. One day my step brother was like "How do you like fighting Weldar?"
I wasn't happy.
One of my favorite boss themes in Tooie.
1:18-1:45 is the best part.
1:18
1:45
Y'know, I think Kirkhope's music made using N64 instruments is the only "old" video game music that cannot at all be improved by "real" instruments. It's already at perfection.
Weldar may have been the hardest boss I've fought, but he's still my favorite.
Weldar can easily make the other bosses his bitches
Imagine Weldar heating up Mr. Patch so he'd turn into a hot-air balloon! XD
When I was a kid I always thought he was a vaccuum cleaner from hell.
I think it's clever how they sped up the world song(Grunty Industries) for this boss fight. It shows a tight connection between the world and the boss of it. Love it :)
"Who wants Nuts and Bolts?" -Weldar
"NOBODY!" -Fans
this was the scariest fucking thing after the rapist shark
xD rapist shark
think this is scary? have you PLAYED donkey kong 64???
the donkey kong 64 equivalent of this boss is the shit. his name is mad jack, and his boss music is as amazing as this boss music.
When the world ends, this is the music they should play.
Can't deny that though. Love this fight so much.
It's just like not being able to find part of your childhood. I feel sad for people that missed the best boss in Banjo Tooie :(
i remember being so scared of this i couldnt play the game for a week XD had nightmares for a long time
grant kirkhopes music never gets out of my Brain.
*WAHAY*
NOOO! DON'T JUMP ONTO MY HEAD! ;-;
*_WAHAY_*
WAHAY
WAHAY
I beat Banjo-Tooie when i was 8-ish, and a few years later i started playing it again and found him. It made me feel stupid since i already had at least 20 hours of playtime on that game, and Grunty's Industries was my favorite world. :|
it came out November 20 2000, i was there camping outside best buy waiting for it to open with about 20 other people
My favorite Boss, and Boss music!
Oh, man. Weldar used to give me nightmares as a little kid!
This is my favorite theme in the game.
The Rusty Bucket Bay of Banjo Tooie. In other words, that fucking roadblock that kept you from beating the game.
This is the only boss in Banjo-Kazooie that's actually like... out of your way, there's no linear way to get to him (or he's not somewhere you'd think of), which is probably why some people haven't even fought him. He's also one of the most fun to fight.
I liked how the bosses all had boss remixes of their world's music. Except for Mingy Jongo. He had a remix of the Mumbo's Skull theme.
I love Weldar, he just seems rather polite and work-conscience, despite trying to kill Banjo and Kazooie. Also, I love how he needs to wear glasses.
@RedSamuriPowerRanger I used to think Weldar was near impossible to beat. He was SO hard! But then I found out that if u stand in the corner, he can't suck you in. He was then easy to from there on. :D
Such a classic cheesy video game. That's what i love about Banjo. It's just so ridiculous and whacky that it just makes the game so much better.
This is the best boss theme of this game in my opinion.
dude i thought he was the hardest. i dont know why but he gives me the most trouble out of them all everytime
I kinda just wandered towards this guy, I didn't realize he was hard to find
"Have some nuts and bolts"
NUTS AND BOLTS CONFIRMED
After polishing off this guy's health, I spontaneously shouted, "TAKE THAT, FIENDISH TOOL OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING!"
Afterwards I had me a good giggle for whatever reason.
one of the best songs of the game
You have to use mumbo to disable the electromagnet on Floor 2 then turn into the washing machine to press the switch. This opens the door to Weldar in the basement.
Weldar, why must everyone live in fear of you?
Weldar was my favorite boss! I just thought he was so hilarious & plus he has terrible eyesight - something I could relate to :)
lol i love how his head flew off at the end XD
My favorite boss in Banjo Tooie :D
Yeah, I played through Banjo-Tooie when I was young and beat it. Then, like, 10 years later I picked the game up and found him and Lord Woo Fak Fak.
I wish I never found either.
You need to wreck the Electromagnet chamber with Mumbo's EMP, THEN QUICKLY get back there with WuishyWashy Banjo to use the big switch.
OH MY FUCKING GOD! I WISH I WAS A KID AGAIN!!!! ;) MEMORIES OF MY SISTER AND I PLAYING THIS... *SNIFF*
I keep hearing these lyrics: Welder the, Welding Torch! Welder the, Welding Torch!
"How 'bout a few nuts and bolts ?"...mother of god he knew!
I also found this boss ridiculously hard to find. I'd almost finished the game before I finally got to him, lol
I spent so many years without finding this boss
I think I completed the game without even finding him
This would be my favorite Banjo Tooie boss theme in epic terms.
I was so fucking terrified of this boss when I was younger. oh god
This was the only boss i didn't fight during the game, i came back to the Industry place thingy and found him, i was like WTF?
He looks like he's FIRIN' HIS LAZAR!!
Strange worm head with welding breath with power gauges that spits lots of nuts 'n' bolts
@DubstepGod Yeh I barely knew he exist first time around. I was afraid to play Grunty Industries because of the alarm that goes off.
Well I all liked them. All the worlds had have something special. in my opinion Grunty Industries is the best world, because I just love modern levels in old school graphics!
I miss this so much. I'll buy banjo-tooie from my friend if i have to!!!
*sings* Grunty, yeah, Industries, yeah...
Difficulty: 4
Weakness: Grenade Eggs
Attacks: Fireballs, body slam, suction, and electric floor
Fire Eggs, yes. CWK Eggs, I'm not sure. I don't use them unless I have to, like against the Rocknuts and Grunty. But it's worth giving a shot just to see if it does work.
Indeed. I feel kind of silly that I never found and defeated Weldar...
It makes me want to pull out my N64 again... aha! Found it
Weldar: Ahem.
*Fights*
Sometimes weldar says "Wee hee!" you know. He sounds weird like that. Man, he was a bit hard.
"How about a few Nuts & Bolts?"
Weldar can see the terrible future, so he tries to kill you to stop it. CASE CLOSED.
@a1sauses Yes he can. You can also harm Weldar with Fire Eggs, Mario can shoot fireballs at him.
Are you a bear?
Yes, and you're on your way to the RECYCLING PLANT!!!
Weldar: "Ahen I think the rules cleary state no bears allowed in the factory
Banjo:"Um, i'm not a bear
Weldar: D'oh, I must remember to wear my glasses. Well i'm out now so I think i'll go to work on you
Weldar:" Please refrain from doing that i'm full of flammable gas"
@RaxusCarnelli Well, I imagine Mario could use the Fire Flower. Really, these boss battles could be restyled for Super Mario Galaxy. That would be neat.
shit this guy was hard
Doh... I must remember to wear my glasses!
I wonder how he looks with his glasses on!
I CAN'T BELIEVE I NEVER FACED THIS BOSS!
@Demonhornz Weldar absolutely must get a job as fortune teller.
So he is a missunderstood good guy ?
This is just genius !
i felt bad for welder cuz i thot he was stuck in there and lonely so i left him alone
He was the only boss i felt bad for
1:18 through 1:44 is the best part. I don't know why, but I think this music should've
been in Conker's Bad Fur Day. Maybe I think so because it goes wll with Conker's running animation. I'm not so sure.
I never did get around to fighting this boss. As a kid, this was the scariest thing I had ever seen in my life. My grandma beat it for me... cough.
I will never find this boss I gave up 2 years ago...
@DubstepGod I thought that there was no boss in grunty industries until I saw a list of the bosses. I just gave up looking for Weldar since its hard to get to him.. o.o
UGU my favourite boss. SO MUCH FUN.
Man! People know what they are actually talking about in these comments now! finally people can agree on something! Banjo Tooie was fuckin awesome and the music was fuckin awesome, and that they need to fix those new "games" out there now.
This is why i love my n64
I wonder if Weldar was stupid enough to look into his own flame and that's how he became visually-impaired.
ボス曲で一番好き
@Ghostlyghostgamer in your childhood, you were scared of weldar? well, i dont blame you he can really pwn you sometimes... i got kinda scared too, but also mingy jongo kinda creeped me out especially his cutscene where banjo got zapped by him,
@DubstepGod I don't even know or remember how i reached him in the first place...i think i just fell somewhere..
SOO AWSOME MUSIC
Its a theory. It goes like this.
Weldar's speech pattern is composed entirely of hissing sounds.
Weldar fights cheap and makes things unnecessarily complicated when defeated.
=> Weldar is female.
