Amira is 17 now. Her birthday March 27. This performance she was 13. She is my favorite female voice. I bought the DVDs from these concerts 2016-1019 from Amira's charity. I did need a new DVD player to watch them in the states. Worth every penny. This show she also did Nessum Dorma ( just prior to this song) and Amazing Grace. All top quality. As for Corlea she also has a beautiful voice. She sings all kinds, great performer.

Amira started out on Holland’s got talent and wanted the “WOW” factor. She got it and ever since gets it everything she does. And I like you Sean find myself at a loss for words to describe her performance. I believe that is because she has a “GOD” given talent and His hand is upon her life. Bravo.

Corlea, who sang here with Amira has been a great friend and mentor to Amira. Amira credits her onstage with that in introducing Corlea to the audience before they sang. Amira has respect for all other talents and great admiration for Corlea, who herself has a beautiful rich voice.

I'm not even really a huge fan od opera as a genre, but her talent and voice are just extraordinary, and her selflessness and humility equally so, with her foundation of the charity to provide play opportunities for underprivileged children in S.Africa using half of her winnings from that competition and regular boosting with performances in fundraising concerts still accounting for about half her appearances. An absolutely amazing young lady!
April 2019 Andrea Bocelli gave 2 concerts in South Africa. Bocelli's management didn't want Amira to sing with him! They asked a lot of money for it! It was then rumored that they were afraid that Bocelli would be blown off the stage!

I love Amira's voice, and your your reaction to this duet with Corlea Botha. You also mentioned that you have been focusing on young females singers lately, so may I recommend that you check out Patricia Janeckova, a young Slovak opera singer living and singing out of Czechia where she is studying opera in university. A little older that Amira , about 23 now, but there are a number of great video performances from younger years. I particularly like several circa 2016 and recommend the following to you. Three by Rossini (L'Orgia, La Pastorella delle Alpi, La Danza) and a couple by Strauss (Fruhlingsstimmen, Mein Herr Marquis). I think you will be impressed by her, as you rightfully are by Amira!
She has, inadvertently, upstaged quite a few professionals. It is not within her nature to do so, If you watch some of the performances closely, she studies her fellow performers, and modulates her voice. There so many examples of this, such as the 2015 Jólagestir Björgvins Christmas concerts in Laugardalshölli with the "Ave Maria" (Gounod / Bach) duet with Gissur Páll Gissurarson (for reaction: th-cam.com/video/tEImCJWI_ak/w-d-xo.html). It is essentially a dedication to her grandpa who had recently passed. Of course, this is a beautiful song but only one of many on this album and other similar albums. However Amira also performed this aria five months earlier in Classics is Groot in July 2016 th-cam.com/video/xdkPbBatDIM/w-d-xo.html. Then she was slightly younger and more child like vis a vis her November presentation where she is more mature and gives a more polished performance. As good as her November performance is I cannot help but prefer her July performance. I feel it is more dramatic and really tears at my heart strings bringing me to tears. Please give and opinion.
