One great thing about having living prophets is they can help to interpret scriptures (and its many nuances) But I believe through the holy ghost and our efforts we all as individuals can also receive our own "personal revelation" too that teaches "the truth of all things". The problem with so many Christian churches today (if you think this is a problem ) is that in the past and present all use the bible, but also interpret the many passages very differently. This in turn has led to 100s of different factions, sects, etc. From this we have many different viewpoints + approaches (thus many get into the discussions of what is wrong, or right, etc) So as long as we believe in Jesus and what he did (is that all that really matters, and is that alone enough)? Some would say yes to this. But for those that say (no - we need a "correct interpretation") then how would we or who would do this)? Who would be able or even be authorized to settle these meanings? (I'm sure God currently knows what we are all going through - so surely he would have answers and ways to help with his people not to be in confusion)? So then to follow up I'd ask which preacher, pastor, today can we safely feel comfortable with being able to do this or would have authority or authorization (to interpret correct meanings for the whole body of Christ and all of his followers?) I do believe that the holy ghost can help all as individuals learn and confirm truths to those that diligently seek it (but I would say that the scriptures are only 'one" tool' to know this and help) meaning the words they say can help and instruct. But if we only take everything at face value (and don't confirm them with the spirit, which is also taught by them) then we might miss the higher, but sometimes more simpler meanings too (spirit of the law vs letter). So anyway just curious on that matter as to what ye say. Okay food for thought, and thanks again :)
Actually Trying is kinda the whole point. "4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him." Genesis 4:4-8
I don't follow your point. Can you clafirty? Right now I am working on the video concerning covenants. See if you can work "trying" into these quotes from LDS authorities: “A broken covenant is ‘void and of none effect.’” “Keep your covenants and you will be safe. Break them and you will not.” “If a person violates a covenant, whether it be of baptism, ordination, marriage or anything else, the Spirit withdraws the stamp of approval, and the blessings will not be received.Every ordinance is sealed with a promise of reward based upon faithfulness. The Holy Spirit withdraws the stamp of approval where covenant are broken.”
I really, sincerly don't understand what your points are. I don't know what context you are coming from. If you believe in salvation by grace alone, good for you. (By salvation, I am only speaking of the reception of grace needed to enter into the presence of God after this life, not mere resurrection.) But if you are LDS, then why do you reject the LDS quotes I have talked about? If you make a covenant with God, promising that you will obey all his commandments, then break them, then you will not be saved. His grace will not be sufficient for you (Moroni 10:32). Or, do you believe that covenant breakers will enter into his presence? See D&C Student Manual: "“Only covenant makers and covenant keepers can claim the ultimate blessings of the celestial kingdom. Yes, when we talk about covenant keeping, we are talking about the heart and soul of our purpose in mortality.”
@@TimMartin I dont reject what they are saying because its an entirely different conversation for which is not pertaining to God's Grace. Does that Help? You might benefit from a couple youtube channels. Unshaken, and Temple Light.

@@TimMartin Again, what does that have to do with being Saved by Grace? And Law of Consecration not withstanding could you keep those other Covenants?
