What usually makes these go further is the manual work that goes afterwards, such as colour grading, artificial defocusing, potential special fx, film grain, etc, all to make it seem as authentic and filmic as possible, as simple AI upscaling can make videos seem a bit plasticy from experience, but it all depends on the video used! ~ R

I agree with you, but its not possible because they don't have the master tapes. There are some master tapes but you can't use them because the audio is bad. Its really sad.
