This actually looks pretty solid which is crazy considering how most if not all licensed Kart Racers just do not get the budget or time they need.

I personally think the subtitle for this entry, “Slime Speedway” would’ve been a better name for the series overall. I mean, think about it, all three games make heavy use of slime in some form or another, so it’d make sense that instead of “Nickelodeon Kart Racers”, it’d be called “Nickelodeon Slime Speedway”
doesn't quite roll of the tongue as well but I do agree that some variation of that would have made a potentially better title
I'm just glad we got more XJ9 goodness. Between this, All-Star Brawl and even SMITE, Teenage Robot fans are eating good this year.

As a longtime Nicktoons fan, it's nice to hear they're finally giving this series the fun and personality it should've always had. Better late than never, I suppose.
game mill probably saw the backlash to all-star brawl and realised they weren't going to profit of the ip again unless they upped the quality of the games.

but the new one uses a lot of assets from the first 2 so they can focus on polishing the game more.
this isnt a necessary a bad thing but it is bad that Nickelodeon doesnt give the devs the proper time it takes to make a game good.
@@slaterism2762 no that's game mills fault, realistically nick won't have any influence on the development (not that they can't if they wanted) because licensed games aren't commissioned by the license holder, but instead publisher buy popular licenses to increase sales without having to make a good game, since good games are usually expensive to make.

Honestly I’m glad they’ve been improving their craft. If you like this, I also recommend checking out Nick All-Star Brawl as well. It’s a deceptively good platform-fighting game that had an uphill battle with the fanbase and was the big kick in the pants that showed to Nick that they needed to DO BETTER with their games.

While I don't think I'll play this game myself (I've had very little experience with Nickelodeon shows), I enjoyed the review all the same. As you've said, it's been cool seeing Nickelodeon Kart Racers' evolution over such a short space of time, and I do like the sound of the new mechanics here.
3:55 honestly that pit crew is still extremely evil. Mr. Krabs has definitely done some absolutely horrible things. He may be classified as a good guy, but those eyes disagree

I love this game. This Trilogy went through a redemption arc. The first one was garbage, the 2nd one was decent, and the 3rd one is the best. This is my 4th favorite kart racer after mario kart wii, crash team racing nitro-fueled, and sonic & sega all-stars racing transformed.
Trailblazers is another racing game that actually uses paint trails for points and as basically boost pads.
I have a pretty funny story about Richard Horvitz's character roles. I actually watched Helluva Boss before I watched Invader Zim so I can't hear Zim's voice without thinking of Moxxie.
I honestly hope Benjamage covers Nickelodeon All Star Brawl next. For a Smash Bros clone, It's honestly very fun.
oh wow the music in this game is great! it's like team sonic racing but a bit more restrained which i think lets the compositions really shine

Never thought I’d hear someone reference Diddy Kong Racing, it really hit a soft spot for me since that was my first ever video game. Made it even better by adding some sound tracks from the game

Really nice to see licensed games like this that actually live up to their potential, I'm seriously considering picking this game up now! Also, I'd very much love to listen to more of this soundtrack but I don't think there's any way to do that yet, at least not that I could find :(
Considering Mario kart 8 has inklings and a splatoon map in its battle mode, I’m honestly surprised they haven’t tried something similar to the slime trail mode.
There are still other characters that could've/should've made the roster like Timmy from Fairly Oddparents, or Eliza and Nigel from The Wild Thornberries, or Tommy from Rugrats.
Finally that there's VOICE ACTING in Nickelodeon Kart Racers. I was thinking that the racers should have racer outfits, just saying.
I actually like nick kart racers 2, due to it's genuainly fun track design and pretty good roster. Though the strategy from these slime speedways, and these multicolored item balloons, ala Diddy Kong Racing, is my favorite part of this game. Also 36 tracks is a pretty good amount. Not as much as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but still a hearty amount. That pit crew system is very interesting, and could make this game have actual competitive strategies. Overall, big step up from the first two, and I hope it does well.

Also Mr Krabs being paired with Shredder and Ozai doesn't seem to far out of place with all the questionable crap he's done over the years, Theough Mr Krabs is more villain protagonist.

The only thing that bugs me is the lack of anything related to the fairly odd parents, obviously they can get permission from Butch Hartman to use his characters, Danny Phantom, so why not Timmy?

For anyone playing on Steam/Steam Deck. Please be aware that there is no cloud save feature for this game as of yet. While 99% functional on the Deck (it has issues with the opening cutscene) You will not be able to Sync saves via the internet.

the shop system reminds me a bit of Sega All-Stars which had almost the exact same system... the character based abilities too, although All-Stars used the concept much differently and it was linked to the chosen driver

The Splatoon mode is also a reference to Nick Party where one of the Fanboy and Chum Chum games is who can paint the floor the most with their color. Im a online flash game nerd 🤓

I actually originally bought the game on Steam, I have good news and bad news.
The good news is, it does have a lot of good content, I also bought it during its sale.
The bad news is, it literally ran poorly on my laptop, and I even saw frame-drops in the video.
This even shocks PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch fans!
The worst thing about it, is that I would have loved it, IF it ran at a GOOD frame rate, which it didn’t on mine.
This is one of the few games which I wanted to throw at the company, the other being Mario Odyssey on Switch from Nintendo, due to it currently crashing when loading, and I spite it.
I requested a refund from Steam (Thank goodness), so I should receive the funds back soon, but I would NOT recommend getting the PC version of this game, unless they FINALLY fix the frame-rate and performance on ALL platforms. I am really sorry, the game should have been sold at $20 at most, the second game is good on Nintendo Switch.
A game I WOULD recommend getting is Super Indie Karts, which, while it is only on PC, has an inconsistent difficulty depending on what you play on, and is in Early Access, I absolutely adore it, this is a well designed game, and I would recommend it with my heart, especially for Mario Kart fans.

Played and liked kart racers 2(way before nick all stars brawl existed)
There's some best off stages from the first 2 games and alot of new stages! the older levels looks extra nice here too even adding purple slime routes

I'm glad it's getting better, since I heard the last 2 were garbage. Though the DLC is a little ridiculous, like they didn't seriously need to have a Raph alt skin as a separate character. And speaking of Raph, this game (and recent Nick games in general) has an over-emphasis on the 80's TMNT show and I wish other versions got love (especially ROTTMNT).

I feel like not playing 2 made this game more interesting as it seems that many of the tracks are just reused from the 2nd game. Also, at around 2:30 I noticed that Zuko isn't voiced by Dante Basco, I wonder why, he can still do the voice can't he?

Must be the stigma of the VA strike. That would explain why Roger Rose sadly hasn't reprised his role as Takumi in the Fire Emblem series after Fates. Nothing against Michael Sinternklaas, but Roger will always be our pineapple prince in my heart.

I genuinely think the second is the best because helgs is near impossible to get
Lot of people have complained about how to unlock two characters in particular in this game: Raphael and Helga.
These unlocks have VERY specific unlocking criteria and time consuming ones at that; Raphael is unlocked by playing over 70 battle modes and Helga can only be unlocked through online free races. See the problem here? Especially on the latter's case?

I bought the Switch version not too long ago and I would honestly NOT recommend you get it. the graphics have taken a huge hit in quality and the load times are abyssmal
also be warned that unlock characters/kart parts is very grindy, not to mention some of the unlockables require playing online (good luck finding matches nowadays)
