What does Top Shot, or any of the people on the television show have to do with this opinion piece (video)? It's television. It's a scripted show. No reality TV show is real. It's television.
LEO here from NM. +1 on the MP 2.0 carry comp. I carry the full size MP 2.0 on duty and I carry the carry comp off duty. The carry comp feels like a full size although the frame is a little smaller with the 15 round mag for a little better concealment . Excellent firearms! I’ve had no issues. Great video
Damn I’m 3 for 4 on these! Don’t own any Sig’s. My PDP steel frame is my favorite of the 3. But enjoying my metal carry comp and recently added the CR920XP to replace my G48. All great guns
If you haven't shot any Sigs then you are missing out. The lineup is extensive with great options and beautiful performance. All the other brands / models listed are also damn good guns, so not knocking any of them.
@@Havingablastwithphil kudos for being receptive to some minor criticism and not getting defensive. But the point I was making is that these actually fit into multiple categories. The CR920XP (which began life as the CR920, a Microcompact) is now a Slimline compact due to the addition of the comp, making it too long to be a microcompact anymore. Stack and a half magazine in 1” width guns will either be microcompact or Slimline to their relative length. The M&P is literally named “M&P 2.0 Compact Carry Comp”, it’s a compact. It’s about a G19’size which is the benchmark compact handgun. The fullsize version in the carry comp is the metal frame and the microcompact version of the carry comp is the Shield Plus (they only offer 3 carry comp models) The PDP is also a compact, far too large to be considered a microcompact or a subcompact. And the Sig Fuse is a rather unique one. Fitting into almost its own category that’s really only shared by the Arex Delta. It’s a Slimline Duty sized handgun. Can’t call a flush fit 17rd gun a subcompact with a straight face 😂. A subcompact will always be a truncated compact. A Glock 26 for example. A short, fat, double stack mag gun. Taking a G19 and lopping off barrel length AND grip length. Same for an HK VP9SK and P30SK being chopped down versions of their compact bigger brothers.
The shield plus would be the perfect carry gun if it had a rail for a light. the limited options is its biggest crutch. and the fact S&W back sights are so long red dots look funny.
My favorite subcompact is still probably my hellcat with a 13 round clip and manual safety. Just the right size for pocket carry and 9mm but capacity of a larger weapon. For the bedside I still like my Taurus g3c with Glock night sights.
@ For me, the grip is insanely comfortable for my hands, and the little bit of recoil is an acceptable trade off for the increased accuracy I get due to the amazing trigger
These are not compact guns. I would consider the Hellcat with 3.7" barrel, the Sig P365 XL or the Xmacro, the HKVP9SK and others as compacts. The ones mentioned are too big for a CCW. Which is what one is usually looking for in a compact model. I'm not talking microcompacts.
What's too big for a CCW is a matter of opinion. I carry a full size P99 as my EDC and it doesn't give me any more trouble than my backup single stacks, but I'm tall and large enough for it. I have plenty of friends that couldn't pull that off. My grandfather still carries full size .45 1911s. I couldn't do that.
All sorts of problems? The slides had some issues early on, apparently, but it was rectified based on the updates I saw. That being said, I'd personally point people towards FDEZ, or Shalotek for an XXL slide.
You probably watched two videos were they highlighted some things that were braking problems or that could be easily rectified and now you want to demonize it, cuz you're not skilled in thinking for yourself.

Fun fact: Phil won Season 5 of Top Shot! Has anyone here watched the show?

I love too shot. Seen them all(season 1-4) I was told there are more seasons on outdoor channel. But I don't get the channel.

Thanks buddy. The m&p blew us away during testing. Stay tuned because it performed better than I thought it would.
The Springfield Echelon Comp should be on here.
It’s coming!
That is a full sized gun, not a compact.
I would put these on the “compact” category.
Yep that’s a snag on me
I agree
The thinness of frame as opposed to Glock 19 which is classified by most as compact is determining factor.
@@dmanderson01 please check the comments, even Phil (Credit to Him!) wrote that he missed spoke and they are Compacts.
It’s all good!
Quite different from other lists I've seen on TH-cam. Fun stuff.
Great initial review
Thanks for your support!
Fo me…Sig…..but none are deal breakers from here ! Thanks, looked cold out there ! 🥶
I carry an optics ready S&W Performance Center M&P9 Shield Plus with a 4" barrel with 124gr JHP in a 10 +1 magazine configuration.
This is why I subscribed!!! 😊
I own all 4. I can't believe it.
Looking forward to seeing you review Canik TP9 SC ❤

Any of the compact or sub Caniks for that matter 💪
its been 3 days and you already got a top gun list
Lol
Whatever gun fits your hand and your comfortable with, and more importantly, your going to CARRY...

@ I have. Just not a fan of sig triggers. Love the modularity but just can’t get down with the triggers so I don’t bother
TY USCCA
Not a single one of those are subcompacts. 🤦♂️
For real.
Watching this I was thinking the same thing.
Click bait?
That’s a snafu on my part hahaha call them compacts and roll with it 🇺🇸🫡

Whats a clip?
The Recoils looks 👌 😂😂😂 ..
I'm particularly interested in how manufacturers are innovating for better concealability and performance.
Good vid! Thx
Walther PDP 🔥👍
Classic German engineering. Most precise/accurate duty gun in the world with 0 care for comfort or recoil control.

@ agreed, same here 🫡
@@jaegybombI’m thinking about buying one. Why do you think it’s not for everyone?
I almost didnt watch bec i'm looking at the m&p comp carry and figured it wasnt featured but recognized it in the video teaser. Smh.
I wish we could see the grouping on the targets.
Hope you review what my be better than the four guns you showed, the HK CC9
Trying to get one for a future review 🇺🇸🫡
You mean the Taurus Millenium with a German accent? 😆😅🤣
@@murphykenjiNot even close...
Walthers good.
Really good
Is it the Mercedes of polymer striker fires?
Ai going to do two handed pistol fire same time on multiple targets
Shadow needs to be broken in .. took me 120 rounds … after that it’s perfect 🤙
This not a list of subcompacts at all. It’s two slime lines and the rest compacts. That SS CR920XP is my edc, and is an amazing gun
Yep had a bit of a brain melt down 🤦. Gonna have it corrected for the follow ons. Appreciate it buddy
Do they take Glock mags?
S&W bodyguard.
Simple, Sig P365
Dang guns and gear crushed yall
S&W metal carry comp much more superior than the polymer carry comp!! Looking to get the cr920xp next
Weird, the polymer version seems better to some if us...wonder why. (Sarcasm intended)

Yes they are

Not really subcompact at all. My KAHR PM9 is truly subcompact.
This is a purely subjective topic so it’s irrelevant.
