    For those who want to get this device. Im using it in TOSLINK IN and BT OUT mode. Volume knob allows to change vomule totaly independently on the volume you can control via headphones therfore its posible to lower volume much lover or boots volume much higher then with other devices of this kind. I had 3 devices of this kind before and all of them featured volume control but it was the same volume that headphone controlerd. Same scale. Its great feature !

    Hi! I currently own the Audioengine D1 dac and I 'm in the market for a dsd capable dac for my hifi system (mainly files and tidal streaming). I 'm not much of a headphone listener and don't own any good wireless headphones yet , it will be mainly used for listening through the hifi's speakers. Is it a good choice as a DAC given that it has you covered if you add wireless headphones in the future or is it lacking in sound quality and I must search a more dedicated DAC? Thanks.

    • @GeekologyChannel
      @GeekologyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It should serve as a good add on to your D1 DAC. It is extremely good value and it doesn't sound cheap

      @@geopapa80 the adventure continues 🙂the fiio has more facilities than most DACs - it came close sq wise to the Chord Mojo, but the Chord Mojo was better. The Mojo is not as good as the HiFiMan HM1000 Red, but that also is more expensive. The Fiio sounds like it's what you need . Start with that and see whether you like it. I think you will

    Hi. First of all thanks for the review. I´m thinking about buying a BTA30 because I´m streaming flac from my Fiio M6 to my car audio DSP by Aptx codec (it´s the highest possible). Could you tell me if it deserves get a BTA30 to upgrade from Aptx to AptxHd/LDAC? thanks!

    • @GeekologyChannel
      @GeekologyChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya, if you think of all the other uses you can put it to aswell as a superior sound quality than your aptX M6, I'm sure you'll be pleased with it😁

  • @iluvj00
    @iluvj00 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You compared pears to apples. The bta30 is a tool to connect different methods of data delivery be it Bluetooth, optical, digital, analog, WITH the capability to be a DAC. But this is not it's main use, being a DAC. The mojo is a DAC/amp. Don't get this one expecting it to power high impedance headphones and to be a dedicated DAC. For example I am using it to send Bluetooth audio from devices like ipads or cellphones to it and out through spdif to my DAC/amp.

  • @wretchedworm
    @wretchedworm 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    sorry noob here. you mentioned that it doesn't do analog in, but isn't that a coaxial in/out jack at the back? i was thinking of using this as a Bluetooth transmitter by connecting my projector's (back of the room) 3.5mm aux out to this so that it can transmit to my bluetooth soundbar at the front of the room.

  • @andrewbennett1216
    @andrewbennett1216 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm confused - you used optical out to test the sound quality of a DA converter? Doesn't that mean the amp is doing the conversion?? In other words wouldn't the optical signal from the two devices be exactly the same???

    • @GeekologyChannel
      @GeekologyChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      SPDIF is still a digital connection, the DAC is still taking on the job of converting. The amp deals with the analogue output stage, the dac deals with the bitrate that comes through the cable

    • @peterlandbo2726
      @peterlandbo2726 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't quite understand you. A DAC converts from a digital signal to an analogue.
      You mention yourself that SPDIF is digital. Therefore YOU do bypass the Fiio DAC or else you couldn't transmit the analogue signal that has been converted to analog by the DAC.
      You are using the DAC in your amp
