The Centenary diamond is so huge, wow, can it even be set or only used as a mega-expensive paperweight lol? But I love the red diamonds the most, just so rare and stunning. It bothers me tho that the jewelers keep re-cutting these beautiful stones and losing their carat wt, the red was gorgeous as a pear shape, why did they need to cut it? Thx Andrew as always! ~~Chanel

Daryaay-i-noor is a pale pink diamond and has a twin sister Noor-ol-Ain both pale pink diamond from the imperial crown of Iran but was stolen from India. And both of this diamond was from a bigger diamond "the Great Table diamond". I'll do more study on that. thank you for FYI.

I just wonder why diamond is price so much when considering emerald and rubies are difficult to find..any one knows why?

kosmicwizard and now debeers company have a monopoly on diamonds and only release so many on the market at a time so people think they are a lot rarer than they actually are.

Colored diamonds are generally rarer that emeralds sapphires and rubies... and I think people love diamonds more because they are the hardest objects on the planet... law of supply and demand.
Why do people not mention shappires? I think they are very beautiful also. I have quite a number of rings, with different stones. I've found alot with my metal detector, alot of times in tin boxes. Because where I live during the War of 1812 alot of folks hid their stuff from the British. Alot of the town was burned down. I guess many folks just never got to reclaim their things.

nice but also I look at the crafsmenship, how it's made. If the piece talks to me I keep it, if not it's alittle easyer to let go.
I think diamonds are WAY over priced. There are other stones that shine & sparkle, or are colorful are beautiful as well as diamonds.
Maybe if folks would stop buying diamonds for awhile maybe the prices would go down.
