They had a great thing going on the beginning w Saturn, then they messed it up by bringing badge engineered cars and SUVs from GM's other brands. Getting rid of Pontiac, was just stupid. Mary Barra needs to be canned!
In August of 99 I was looking for my daughter a car for college went looking at a dealership they had tons f cavaliers with is what I was looking for but the salesman ask if we'd be interested in a cutlass I say , to much money says no here me out were stuck with 75 of these things and nobody's was buying because the Malibu was cheaper, they said pick out one we will make the price the same as the vl cavaliers u were looking at so I said ok, bought it for her got her through college and lasted about 6 yrs but it. Wasn't nothing special no complaints except the car ate front brakes
No surprise that they were having trouble selling them, not only because the Malibu was cheaper, but at that point they would have recently started selling the Alero, which was similar in size but a much more attractive car.
Its the same thing as my 05 classic, which is same as the 97-03 malibu. For it to have a oldsmobile badge, they seriously should have make it with leather seats, more luxury, bigger wheels, more powerful v6, more sound deadening. A top of the line 97-03 malibu is actually better than the basic cutlass.
Surprised John didn’t say this is a Chevy Malibu
My daily driver is a 99 Cutlass GLS. 141k miles. Runs like a charm. Transmission smooth as butter. It was agrandma car.
what a horrible fate for such a well known and best seller nameplate. Its too bad GM wouldnt feed more money to Oldsmobile...
Horrible end of Oldsmobile. Beautifuls and solid cars

@@anonomous1546How is that Mary Barra’s fault she’s been CEO of GM since 2013 a majority of those decisions happened long before she was CEO
Yes the Oldsmobile Cutlass Pontiac Grand Am Buick regal Chevy Malibu but it it had more luxury features than it. It was a solid car for the money.😊
Great car as well as the Malibu.
Great and nice car the Oldsmobile Cutlass

Nice Malibu. Did gm think we were stupid?

And this is a rrason Olds went out of business.
Why?
It was a damn shame when they ended the true Cutlass… the Supreme
G body or W body
Soooo just a “dressed up” Malibu? 🤔
This Olds Cutlass is version of Chevy Malibu
this could've been the AE101 toyota corolla it shouldve been
This POS is a reason Olds went out of business.b
Mediocre mobile.
@JDns-we4fwsmh. You’re clearly the unwanted “Mr. Know-It-All” of this comment section.
These were junk, just like their Malibu cousins. Countless and continous problems, especially with guage cluster issues.
