Duvet cover: wrestled with those quite a bit myself. Nobody where I live uses flat sheets, not in stores at all. I do them sort of like pillows. Turn cover inside out, reach in to the far corners away from the opening, and firmly grab the corners of the blanket, then invert cover over blanket. Love the simple look. It's part of the antidote to the insanity of the world.

I've been using flat sheets for curtains for some year's now. Plus pillow cases makes great curtains for small window's. And fitted sheets for a valance.
I'm currently using pillowcases for 3 small windows above my bed. They are pop of color and fully hemmed and double sided. lol Small tension rod and BOOM! window treatment! lol

Love the 'new' bedroom! I like everything in it! I'm sure you have found a video on the burrito method for inserting a comforter into a duvet by now. If you should have trouble keeping the comforter in place with daily use, an old home dec trick is to sew one length of twill tape in each inside corner of the duvet and a corresponding piece on the comforter then tie the two together. You can add more pieces along the sides if you need to. It really helps. Maybe other viewers will find this helpful also. Another awesome video!

Love the white but sadly I live on a farm that has lots of dirt roads with equipment almost daily and it’s windy every day. The farm house has old windows. So white is not possible. So your home is a real pleasure to see.
Wonderful job! This reminds me of when I faux painted a floor in my den back in 2001. I started with the old nasty looking plywood sub floor by drawing lines that looked like 9 inch planks, used a tool that left a wood grain look and hand painted all of the black "nail heads". It took me a week to do it but it was amazing. When we sold our house people actually would bend down and touch the floor because they couldn't believe how real it looked.

Fabulous make over! The Duvet Cover... the trick is “fight with it like you did”.... LOL!! I don’t use them anymore because of my bad back and the fight to get the cover on. I love them because it is so easy to change your room for different seasons . Some actually have a “tie string “ in their corners, then you have to get the filler comforter with the strings on it (. HENCE ....high end stores have those ) I use sheets a lot for curtains! Love doing that. They wash great and last long! 👍. I love the Duvet Cover with the strips... nice pick! Brilliant idea for the shiplap also! I do see ladies doing that a lot and also on their floors! Then seal it after so the marks last. Nice nice room! Have a blessed week!
The shiplap wall came out really nice. Loved the shutters, now the curtains are a delightful change for coziness and softening. The rug fit perfectly and the side tables balance it all out. Yes, but the dust it stirs up isn't! I have terrible allergies to dust, so I use an air filter which works perfectly. Any noise is steady to keep the brain waves level works.
Great makeover! My tip for the duvet cover, start with the cover inside out on the bed with the opening on the bottom. Place the duvet on top making sure it is the right way. Open the opening in the cover and start rolling the topside with the duvet. After a couple of rolls reach your hand in and pull the corners out. Continue rolling until you are close to the top then reach your hand in and pull out the top corners. Now hold each top corner making sure the duvet is in the corner, then hold them up and give it a shake. If someone else is around you can both hold one corner to make it easier.
Beautiful room....I’m so impress with your talents, thrifty shopping, and use of color. I buy old linen whitework tablecloths, ect. and use them as curtains and valances.... the light that comes through the cutwork and embroidery is wonderful, plus they can be less expensive that sheets or readymade curtains.....Won’t you miss the reading lights though?
Love it! The duvet comforter is so much easier if you have two people. Each person feeds their corner into the top and holds, then pull down the cover over the rest of the duvet and fasten. Love your channel Mary!

This is a wonderful transformation! An easy way to get the duvet on is to turn it inside out and place on top of the comforter. Roll the comforter and duvet cover up starting at the closed end. When you reach the open end, turn the whole roll inside out. then unroll. Magically, your comforter will be inside the duvet and perfectly placed. A mere shake or two at the corners and it is.done! I am binge watching your videos; just discovered you! Loving your ideas!!

I would spray pain the lamps Black and reuse them. Take them out the wood but It looks beautiful as always ❤️
