With the current love of open world games I'm suprised something hasn't popped up yet, be it official or fan-made.

I'm completely on board with this. Now the question is: who will make it? 🙃 The game wasn't entirely bad, but it could have been a lot better. It was fun to explore some of the locations from the show, and discover things that weren't shown on screen. An open world game would be amazing.

I personally think Lego LOST: The Video Game would be the dream game simply because that is a franchise that adapts and brings to life a number of classic franchises that are either really popular or really cult/popular... the way they've done Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Marvel, Harry Potter but also recent play sets for classic TV Shows like Friends, Frasier, Stranger Things...
I've written an entire plan of how I see the game would work and think it'd be the perfect vehicle in that you could play the main trek levels as well as explore smaller optional quests in between the main missions. Also you'd discover and be free to explore the island however you choose based on what the characters have discovered up to that point in the story, so gradually the map which you can wonder round in in between main story chapters would increase over the game.
The great thing about the Lego games too is they let you play as every character and there's no limit to how many characters can be included in a roster at once. In the LOTR game you have all 9 of the fellowship at one point, and you just toggle between who you want to control at a time while the others follow you around. So in this format you'd be able to do the S3 finale with ALL the survivors trekking across the island and you pick between Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Juliet, Hurley, Rose etc as you follow that path. Another great thing about those games is that every character brings a different unique skill-set for completing tasks and puzzles, so this again would really add to the experience... here's how I see the character traits being:
Jack - Unique Skill: Heal Self & Others (The concept I see the game having is that health points are rare to come by, so any time Jack is in your roster he acts as a free boost. Also to make this skill useful it could be that, unlike other Lego games, if all of your roster in a level die then you have to restart at a checkpoint. Usually in Lego games you just infinitely respawn every time you die, so making it critical that you keep healing you and your team mates, makes Jack's main skill essential.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy.
Kate - Unique Skill: Can climb trees, she can follow trails so playing as her helps you know where to lead the roster.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy.
Locke - Unique Skill: Knife throw and knife cut (for specific actions in combat or puzzle solving). Also a tracker like Kate.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy.
Sawyer - Unique Skill: Item Inventory Trade (The concept I see is that you can collect items you find and add to your inventory, however all characters except Sawyer cannot see what is on another character's inventory nor can you get them off each other. When you play as Sawyer you can see a banner over the character of what they have, you then press a button in which Sawyer does a kind of sweet-talk action and you are able to get the item off them. It probably won't work on ALL characters but most.
If you play as other characters you can only see objects or pick them up when they are not claimed by a character).
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy.
Sayid - Unique Skill: Can solve technical puzzles, repair and use complex technical objects.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy.
Hurley - Unique Skill: Luck (The concept is when you play as him you are attacked or lose health points 75% less compared to others you might play as, so useful when you need to go through almost impassable areas. The only downside is any characters in a roster with him prior the Dharma Van chapter where he no longer feels cursed, those characters have a 50% chance more of getting more hurt. So you have to play as him only when you absolutely need to for a specific moment. But after the Dharma Van moment this downside is no longer in play, and there is only the pro of his Luck skill that is still in play).
2nd Unique Skill: Speak to Dead (This is unlockable from the S5 chapters onward, at certain places he can see dead people that can guide where you are meant to go, similar to Locke or Kate's tracking ability. The dead can also provide you with clues on how to complete puzzles before you.)
Other skills: Can get in and drive Dharma vans.
Charlie - Unique Skill: Crawl spaces (He can access smaller areas and climb through to hard to reach places like he did in 1x07).
2nd Unique Skill: Underwater swimming for longest time. (Other characters can go down for maximum of 15 seconds but Charlie can be down for 2 Mins. When you swim underwater your can see the heart-rate, so if you play as any one other than Charlie you'll see it rising really fast very quick, while his will be slow and steady. If not at the surface by the right time the character dies instantly and won't respawn.
Claire - Unique Skill: Mother (So the concept of this skill is that all the characters or at least one other character in your roster will automatically go to attack or defend you from attacking forces. Your main skill at least in the first 4 chapters of the game is that others will defend you. So this is useful if a character needs to pick up an item or do a generic action to solve a puzzle but the roster is being attacked at the same time. Playing as any other character means you would have to solely defend yourself and you can't commit any other action. But if you play as Claire you can do whatever you want while the other characters protect you.)
2nd Unique Skill: Set & Diffuse Booby Traps (This is unlockable for the S6 part of the story)
Other Skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy (Again, only unlockable for S6 part of the story)
Sun - Unique Skill: Can plant, locate and dig up specific plants, food or herbs. Some of which once in your inventory can be used to heal one self or another character.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy (Only unlockable from the moment she uses one in S3)
Jin - Unique Skill: Can fish, meaning he can get get fish but also is able to catch any other required objects that might be only obtainable from the water.
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy
Boone - Unique Skill: Underwater swimming for longer time. (Other characters can go down for max of 15 seconds but Boone can be down for 1 Min.)
Shannon - Unique Skill: Can translate french maps or any french related objects which provides the group with clues for puzzles or direction on where to take the roster in the mission.
Michael - Unique Skill: Construction (can identify objects and see how to build useful constructions from them).
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy (from S2 moment onward)
Walt - Unique Skill: Premonition (When playing as him you can see a toggle menu of items which provides clues or direction on where to go or areas to avoid for sake of danger)
2nd Unique Skill: Small crawl spaces, similar to Charlie.
Vincent - Can identify, sniff out and find key buried objects. Also uniquely if looking for Walt in a mission, he has the same tracking ability that Locke or Kate has. Also any character can approach Vincent and tie a leash on him. So you can be playing as Shannon for example and while you are walking around, now and then Vincent will start barking or moving in a certain direction so in that case any character holding his leash ends up being directed on the path you are meant to follow in that specific level.
    MORE in PART 2 BELOW!

      PART 2...
Ana Lucia - Unique Skill: Gun intimidation (Ana can go into a gun frenzy state where she can walk around with the gun held out intimidatingly in front of her. Whereas most other characters only pull it out to fire something on command, with Ana you can have her pull it out and just walk around with it for intimidation sake. The effect of this forces enemy forces to back away from you and not attack you, meaning you can get to hard to reach places without being swarmed and just caught up in defending yourself.)
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy
Eko - Unique Skill: Eko Strength (Can use his stick or any object he picks up and it is only with his strength that certain objects can be broken. He can also push and move larger objects that others might not be able to move.
2nd Unique Skill: Prayer (This mode allows Eko to heal himself or any other characters that are right next to him, this is half the speed that Jack's skill provides so it does mean you have to wait a bit, but the end result is the same.
Rose - Unique Skill: Prayer (the same as Eko's skill but it works probably 25% quicker than his. Just to mirror that Rose is and has long been a woman of staunch faith, whereas Eko's faith is much more newfound and therefore its healing power is slightly lesser than Rose's).
Bernard - Unique Skill: Morse Code Detection (Useful for at various points where in technical based locations, this provides you with clues on how to solve puzzles or general game clues).
Libby - Unique Skill: Memory Enhance (Can approach characters and utilise this skill. In return the character you did this on tells you of a previously unknown fact - could be a gameplay tip, puzzle clue or hint at an area that you could explore).
Desmond - Unique Skill: Electromagnetic resistance - can enter areas in the game where there is extreme high levels of radiation and not be killed, be it at The Source or any other areas in the game where you may encounter blasts of it.
2nd Unique Skill: Premonitions (These work in a similar way to Walt's skill. Only playable in the S3 storyline moments).
3rd Unique Skill: Underwater swimming for longer time. (Other characters can go down for max of 15 seconds but Desmond can be down for 1 Min.)
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy
Ben - Unique Skill: Island knowledge - (When you play as Ben you are able to see a 75% of the total secret items, locations on the map that can be found in the game. You are also able to decode and interpret complex puzzles which may open doors or secret passages you need to access.)
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy
Juliet - Unique Skill: Heal Self and Others (Similar to Jack's ability but 25% slower than him to heal).
Other skills: Can carry and fire gun with accuracy
Danielle - Unique Skill: Can (obviously) interpret french related objects etc similar to Shannon.
2nd Unique Skill: Can set and diffuse Booby traps.
Arzt - Unique Skill: Can sense out and locate dynamite, the only issue is don't try to pick dynamite up playing as him.
      It only ends in disaster.
Richard - Unique Skill: Island knowledge - (When you play as Richard you are able to see a 100% total secret items, locations on the map that can be found in the game, all except The Source which will only be discovered in the final chapter of the game.
You are also able to decode and interpret complex puzzles which may open doors or secret passages you need to access.)
So yeah.... that's my thoughts on what the LOST Gaming Community deserves. I have written out the chapter by chapter breakdown of how the gameplay would work and which characters could play in which levels, just for my own fun. But I'd happily share that with you if you're curious. Maybe someone out there works at LEGO likes the idea and it gets in the right hands with the right people and then we'd all get to enjoy playing it.
      Great video!

@@SamuelDJCox WOW! Thanks for this awesome reply. I felt like I could totally envision this gameplay with all these characters. I love the thoroughness of it all. Like certain elements being unlockable (I like how you use the Dharma van episode as a specific marker in Hurley's character development). Great variety in skills. Even the small and mundane ones (crawl through small spaces) but also things like memory enhance that I can see being very valuable. Thanks for sharing! Loved to read it.

@@Choekaas Thank you, I wish it was real haha it'd be so much fun to play. And you mentioned in your video you'd want it to be long and full of always more you can discover, and trust me there's room for that in my concept.
I think I might write up the game levels and chapters in a google doc or something, that or a very long video I could try and make on the entire game design... I put a lot of thought in haha!

At least there were games based on TV shows, now there are none.
