I just bought this exact vacuum at a habitat store( second hand store). There’s not a scratch on it. After looking it over very thoroughly. Its apparent that it’s never even been used. Its in perfect condition . All internal parts are clean .like pristine clean. It has all its attachments. . Whoever bought it all those years ago. For some reason or another they never used it! Lucky for me I paid only $15 dollars for it!
Vacuums lasted a long time back when I was growing up. I remember when I was little my mom had a Hoover futura 650 and it lasted her a very long time I think it was like 15 years. It finally died on her, and then she got a Hoover windtunnel canister.
I never realised that they used the spin scrub action brushes back then, I thought they were only recent. I love the headlights. So many USA vacs have headlights!!!! 😁
I recently found one at a goodwill it's a later version Mexican made it doesn't have tool capabilities and has the stationary brush it works decently, better then my kirby with regards to stains but takes about 8 hours to dry compared to 3 so both have there advantages, it is good to use the water extraction method though from time
@@VacLab i just realized that you actually dont have a button like mine on the “cleaning mode” part…. i am looking to confirm that if you select floor it should be blank and the tool part green.
Good morning! I have this same model, I’m wondering about “resealing” the top cover. Is there a video I missed on how to do this? If not, could u point me in a direction to get it done? Thanks!
I have the same model, how I lost the tank valve, I do not know. I tried looking on amazon, it doesn't say this model, do you know what other model it compares to? (F6020-900) thanks for this video!
Karen Miscia it's held on with locking tabs that you squeeze inward before pulling the assembly out if I am remembering correctly. Someone may already have posted a more extensive how to video somewhere.
I was excited to see this video especially when I saw the boxer which is why I found my Hoover in my moms house because she is annihilating my carpet but I was hoping you would show me how to use it
@@VacLab Thank you I got it. It's funny that I found the exact same model in my mom's storage and had to get it out for the exact same reason, a four month old boxer. Wish I could send a picture but I have 5 second video link if you would like to see her. th-cam.com/video/w1heft62PoY/w-d-xo.html
Oh my gosh, don't get rid of it, EVER! Replace the motor or hose if you have to, but don't lose it because no other ones (even the new Hoovers) perform as well or last like these. I have a "deluxe" spinscrub with automatic tool conversion from 2003-ish and I would not let it go for the world. Tip for automatic tool conversion models: don't let the handle lie all the way back to the ground when removing the dirty water tank; that's a sure way to get a broken hose where it connects to the bottom of the machine. I always hold it about halfway up with one hand and handle the tank with the other; have never had a broken hose issue.
I just bought the exact same one as in this video, but am not sure if this is supposed to heat the water or if I need to heat the water myself before application does any one know for sure?
Hoover is discontinuing all the good stuff. And it is no thanks to the Elite spin scrub and smart wash. I had a Agility that wore out and was going to buy a Max Extract All Terrain Carpet Cleaner (It is pretty old) and before I could buy it, it got discontinued. And the Agility was discontinued a few years back. Curse modern carpet cleaners and their modern features nobody is going to need!
Hamza Hassan I agree! At least my dad’s old Hoover SteamVac Plus 1200 still works. Bring back the Agility, the All Terrain, the Dual V, the Deluxe & the WidePath! Bring back the good Hoover SteamVac & get rid of these modern cheap models like that ridiculous SmartWash!
@@CShannon1991 When I first heard about high efficiency clothes washers I thought to my self "That is just dumb". I never thought that stupid features can be done on carpet cleaners up until I found out about smart wash. The smart wash is trigger less meaning you cant not pour water (Dry strokes) moving the cleaner forth. As for the elite spin scrub, too much features and over priced. I am pretty sure a regular plain carpet cleaner will work fine on pets. I am very disappointed the Agility didn't get enough time to see the market. If you look up the agility, there are only 5 vids. 3 of them people using them (They don't even show the features, they get right to cleaning) and 2 of them are ads. One being a hoover ad, the other being a Vax (The British version of Hoover) ad. The best part about the agility is the side by side tanks, the foldable handle, and the removable caddy. If I could, I would buy another Agility, the wide path, the Max Extract All terrain, or the older Deluxe. So modern stuff has to be so cheap... My 14 year old agility was manufactured in Mexico. Not the best quality because both of my upholstery tools are broken (Which I can upload a vid about) and one of the hoses inside ripped. Also, suction is now weak in the agility. Not much water gets picked up. Probably because dirty tank has higher capacity. I wish my Agility stayed in tacked. The Agility was unique. It was only one with side by side tank.
I just purchased this for 50 bucks lady said husband only used once, brushes only spin when its tipped up in the air😢i put my hand on them they STOP! So evertime on carpet they are just sitting there!☹i truly feel like i got ripped off!
She wouldn't even hardly let me enter her garage she was very irritated that I even asked if she could plug it in so I could test it I did notice that the spin brush's seem like they were moving when I tipped it up and they seem like they removing kind of slowly and I did notice that when I put my hand against them they stopped but I thought that was only because maybe I didn't have any solution and there or maybe that was a safety issue I didn't know until I got it home and tried it, She said she would take it back I just didn't know if there was maybe a way to fix it And I want to ask you since you have yours running and you're the only one I could find on here do your spin brush's stop when you put your hand on them or do they strongly continue to spin?
@@kimgoforth4180 I just checked mine and no matter how much force I placed on the rotating brushes, they did not stop nor did they even slow down appreciably when the handle was reclined.
That's the first carpet shampooer that has headlights that I've ever seen.
That's a beast of a machine. I have an '01- they last forever
I have this exact unit, and love it. Got it in 1998ish, house full of pets.
Still have it and it still works?
I really like those old Hoover steam vacs my nana and papa have one just like that it just doesn't have headlights on it and it works awesome
I do wish That Hoover would Go Back to making the SteamVac Widepath.

There so satisfying to use
I love it. This does a very very good job.
do you think it would be better to buy a used model like this one and clean it up rather than buying one of the newer ones?
Just purchased one at goodwill like new for just $6.99 : Thanks for Sharing!
Hello, What are buttons for at the handle? One has Clean Surge button and a trigger holder behind it. I started using this due to pet accidents.
One is standard water flow and the other is "clean surge", just as you have stated.
@@VacLab Ok, thank you for the fast response! First time using these things..
Just picked one up! Any tips on how to clean the top of it? Previous owner left it caked with dog hair.
Disassemble and clean what needs to be cleaned. Make sure the motor bearings are not screeching.
can you review the top two buttons, they read floor and tool… that piece has broken off but i assume the tool part is off.
The right side foot switch that says handle release switches modes between floor and tools (hose). Is that what you're asking?
@@VacLab i just realized that you actually dont have a button like mine on the “cleaning mode” part…. i am looking to confirm that if you select floor it should be blank and the tool part green.
How is it on water extraction
Fabulous. Better than Thomas' 7Amp Bissell.
I had a steam vac like yours but it was the 5 brushes, not 6. That thing was a beast (lasted 10 year's or more). Believe it was bought in 02 or 03.

I resealed mine years ago before I had a TH-cam channel. I don't know of any video that shows this procedure. 😞
VacLab Thank you for getting back to me, off to continue my hunt.
Are the headlights on this effective at all? They don’t look it tbh
John Smith they are very effective in a darker room, just like my Oreck's dual lights. In a bright room, headlights are redundant.
VacLab ohhhh okay
What store you bought it from
The hose was the only drawback with these machines. They would always tear if not handled properly.

This model is well over 20 years old. Parts are no longer available.
How do you remove the brushes
I guess this is the only carpet cleaner that has lights
Hubby has tried to get the brushes off to no avail. How the heck did you do it????
