    I think what I especially enjoy about your content is the variety of problems you address, on the range of different bikes - it lends you authenticity. The episode on basically stripping down and rebuilding the eMTB - while explaining the lengths you were going to, to address the rider’s concerns and not needlessly smash the budget - was a particular pleasure. I’m sure other viewers appreciate, as much as I do, the demonstration of attention to detail you show in the workshop. Client orientation is a desirable quality and your focus on this comes through strongly in your content 👍🏻

    Congratulations on your channel’s success. I love your balance of aspirational stuff (eg Look frames), educational stuff (eg shock tear down) and everyday/informational stuff. Keep up the great work. From Barbados. I wish you were my local bike shop!

    Hi Guys, love the content as always. Just wanted to pop into the comments and offer a little bit of advice in case you wanted it. Spent quite some time as a social media manager and consultant and just wanted to say that if you keep doing these podcast episodes (which you should!) then I would highly recommend making a seperate account for them. Not only does that then create a second rvenue stream (if that's something you're into), but it also helps avoid diluting you're other videos, and subsequently diluting your podcast episodes. Many people think that their audience is simply based on their chosen topic, but actually your audience varies greatly depending on the form of content you are putting out. Just wanted to put that out there as a bit of help as I'd love to see this channel(s) continue to grow. Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any follow up questions 🙏 - Oliver

      Thanks. It’s something we do talk about. Everything is a capacity issue right now. Maybe when we are able to be more consistent. Appreciate your input Oliver. Thank you.

    Another great pod. It’s an Olympic year and Yeti, like many others, are releasing a 120mm XCO bike.
    All of a sudden the market is crowded and XC heads are spoiled for choice with the new Scalpel, Epic 8, (To be released) Dogma XC and Swiss Stoll Bikes releasing their awesome looking Series 3.
    Nino’s Scott Spark and Keegan Swenson’s Santa Cruz Blur are already in this space.
    Interesting that Cannondale say the Scalpel covers XC and ‘down country’, ditching their SE version.
    Chapeau to Yeti for their marketing campaign though!

      Yes. The new spark is an interesting evolution. The bike I expected to go XCO

    Great video guys.
    Love Simons enthusiasm and obviously Paul’s knowledge.
    If you’re taking the Team to Pappy’s, I wish you were my boss!
    Made a trip from Manchester especially to eat there last month. It’s awesome!!
    Keep up the great work!!!

    Paul, using the easy availability of spares is a good 1st pass filter as to long term customer support, and whether something is review-worthy. 👍

    I saw in another channel reviewing carbon road bike frames where they said mclaren race carbon panels experience some fatigue, my question is how we know MTB flex stays would stand the test of time ? For Chinese parts i am running chinese hubs as they are very light and at a steal price ( but didn't think of that if i need to change i might need difference spoke lengths ) 34 ID carbon rims, carbon handlebar and anodized chianrings and brake rotors and anodized seat post clamp and brake pads as they are 10% of shimano pads price, Thanks for the good work , looking forward for your upcoming videos

    DT's XMC 1200 and XRC 1200 feature the 180 ceramic hubs. They are usually paired with blades spokes and in my opinion it's like DT's "functional art." Every ride is like being graced with quickness and pace.

    Unless you’re racing enjoying your ride out is more important than worrying about +/- 5 psi of tyre pressure! 😊

      My favourite content in equal measure of enjoyment is:
      Fitness
      Bike builds
      Fixing bikes using the bottom bracket grinder.

    Have you heard of Allebike? I think it's hard to get better bikes for the money. Most of their bikes are competition ready xc bikes and the model alpha sits in between a full xc race bike and a trail geometry.
    The brand is quite local and i know tons of people that have their bikes and i only heard positive stuff.

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Any thoughts on the SRAM online tire pressure guide/tool vs the Silca pressure calculator? They give moderately different results for my setup (Silca being lower pressure.)

    • @chrisb5824
      @chrisb5824 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good point and one I'd noticed too... There's a few (3-4?) online tyre pressure 'calculators' and when you pump (!!) all your own data in they kinda give varying results... Interesting 😎

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think they are all good starting points for experimenting. They highlight a range to get you started.

    • @andrewmcalister3462
      @andrewmcalister3462 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's worth noting that SRAM uses the PRINTED (on the sidewall) width, while Silca use the MEASURED width as installed. Depending on inner rim width of the wheel you are installing it on, measured width can vary quite a bit from the printed width, and therefore the recommended pressure.

    Great content as always what do you think about the new Cannondale scalpel compared to the new yeti both are works of art real bike porn❤ World class riders should not have to be out of pocket financially to compete in top events 37 percent increase of not a lot is still not a lot last placed rider gets less than £80 laughable, i can't understand why the major sponsors ie red bull, monster, etc aren't helping out with all the advertising that they get no riders no event. Krankworx need to sort out their business model out if they can't pay the riders some things obviously not working.Realy gutted for Jake was looking forward to seeing his runs

      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The new scalpel is going this slightly more Agro direction too.

    How about 9 Velo DT-swiss copy hub. Supposedly better then DT they list the bearings saprim spokes.

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try and buy a ratchet, a spring or an axle end cap from them. Madness. Bearings are standard sizes. You get can any brand any size. It all the small parts that are the problem.

    • @TurboWolf5000
      @TurboWolf5000 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Trying to say being a Exact DT-Swiss copy you could just buy DT replacement parts. Kinda Solve the problem . An they have 5 different ratchets on there website.

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TurboWolf5000 as far as I have seen they have copied the design. Not the actual parts. You can just get a full freehub or a ratchet upgrade. Pointless.

    • @TurboWolf5000
      @TurboWolf5000 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Look to be an Exact Match! Would be pretty smart if soo. That would make a interesting video to see how good this product is? I heard they are doing things a cut-above.

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TurboWolf5000 maybe I will get some in just to see if the DT Swiss ratchets fit. I wouldn’t go by that Hambini vid too much. He hasn’t actually had hands on that many hubs to compare too. Machining a cyclical hub is not hard.

    Isn't the Yeti just basically another down country bike which is something a bunch of other companies like Transition and Revel have been doing for at least 3+ years. Even Canyon has been offering a trail version of their CC bike. Really nothing new in what Yeti is offering.

    • @Mapdec
      @Mapdec  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah. Kinda. Cannondale did one too. It’s perhaps a maturing of a trend rather than completely starting a new one.
