Hey Amy and Maggie! I was curious about quite a few projects this past fortnight, but I'm hoping to get away with backing just one. I'll list my top 5, although there were a few others that piqued my interested. You made a strong case for Yum Cha, but I suspect it won't hit the table with my game groups, so I'm passing on it. Amygdala looks way too abstract for my tastes. Skyrise... I generally stay away from bidding/auction games. Anyway, here's my top 5: 5. Aeon's end: past and future - Passing Not sure if this really hits the top 5 by excitement level, but I really do like Aeon's End - I'm just a bit behind on getting through the content I do have. I would like to play this some day, but I don't need to back it right now. 4. Globetrotting - Passing Canvas was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I backed it, culled it, and backed it with the expansion and culled it again. So while I like the theme and gimmick of Globetrotting, I think I can hold off on this one and buy it from them directly in the future if I feel like I really want to own it. 3. First in Flight - Passing I will almost certainly pick up this game in retail. I really like the integration of the theme and mechanisms. However, I actually prefer the wooden components to resin/plastic. The metal coins do make the decision a bit harder. But I'll hold off and get it at my FLGS. 2. Bot Factory - ? I still have Kanban on my shelf of opportunity. One reason it's been there for a while is that I don't want to have to learn and teach the game. So I am quite tempted by Bot Factory. Monique and Naveen mentioned that once you learn Bot Factory, it's not a big jump to Kanban. However, I'm not sure I really need both. I'm in for $1 now. If I decide I want the metal coins for Lisboa, that might push me over into backing it. Hm.... 1. Septima - Backing I really enjoyed your coverage of Septima, and I feel that Mindclash Games is a company worth supporting, so I'm in for Septima with the metal coins. I back Septima and Bot Factory. Thanks to you and Before you Play I decided to give a try to a Lacerda. I really want Lisboa but I'm a bit scared of it! I also decided on Yum Cha - such a cute game. This is the type of game my daughter likes to play with me. Thanks for sharing these!

I backed Septima after watching a couple of playthroughs and reading the designer diaries. Not only do I love the theme and the look of the game, but the mechanics (action selection with 8 or 9 actions to choose from) are right up my alley. And any time you're pulling blindly from a bag...I love the tension of the trial(s) at the end of each season. Finally, I think the end of game scoring (where you get to score the number of personal goals you've achieved based on the size of your coven) really clever. As you've said, this forces all the players to pay attention to, and get involved with, the witch trials.
Both Globetrotting and Septima look like a lot of fun. We're waiting for retail in both cases. Love the new game room. Hope you're enjoying your new space.

What did you think of Nut Hunt? I've been following it since its inception, and have been really impressed with everything they've done (openly sharing their progress, hurdles etc) to get the campaign to be as successful as it is
I've never heard the term Yum Cha before. I've always just seen Dim Sum. I also encourage anyone to try Dim Sum/Yum Cha. Some really great food, but do your homework as it can get overwhelming with all the carts going around. Last tip, the food that looks like a fried chicken leg, isn't a chicken leg 😉
I’ve played first in flight on tabletop simulator. I love it! It might be my first kickstarter. That or bot factory. I like that bot factory is a simpler kanban because I think kanban would be too heavy for me. Septum’s looks awesome too! Too many amazing games!
I would read it Sep-teema too because it has a single M which usually indicates a long vowel sound rather than a double consonant that indicates a short vowel sound. If it was Septimma then I would read it 'Sep-tim-ah'
After seeing the content of your new studio where you were both standing it is funny to see you sitting again. Because I always had the impression that Amy was bigger. Now I see you sitting together, I have that impression again.
I considered backing Globetrotting (after watching Rahdo), until I saw the shipping cost (60$...!!!) And from reviews and playthoughs of Septima and First in flight, I would be interested in trying them, but I'm "counting" on someone else in my game group to get them :)
Have you played or seen Foundations of Rome? I would be intrigued to figure out Skyrise vs. Foundations of Rome? It seems like the same concept but modern instead of classical? Bidding instead of selection/achievement?
I was burned once on the "designed by 'Vital Lacerda' (honest)" side games: Mercado de Lisboa wasn't remotely interesting to us whatsoever (at least not at two players) so off it went to a math trade. So, no to Bot Factory. And... sigh. We still haven't gotten EV to the table yet either. :doh

To settle a debate on the name... Septima 😉 If you followed Minclash's news letters, for a long time, the working title for development of Septima was SEVEN ( working title ).... You can find this on there earlier news letters on their site. So I would say Maggie's pronunciation ( Spanish ) is the correct one. Skyrise... "And that's where the theme ends"...😂 So true, but I did back this because of the interesting chain bidding mechanism. Looking for the holes or the dead ends on the board to take the bid without anybody challenging you strikes the thinky nerve.

Still leaning more towards Bot Factory than Septima, although I'm starting to wonder if it will even fund.
Also, I'm not sure any of our cats have had this pushing things off things thing. The closest is Nikita who likes pushing dice around (naturally).
